I have a large modernish/mid-century style house in Palo Alto. Is has a complex roof design with raised seam metal, flat roof torch-on, Kallwall panels and a small amount flat roof vinyl.
Over the years (20+ ..wow time flies!) John and his team have maintained and fixed our roof with care and precision. John is up to date with all the latest materials and techniques.
I have done a lot of work on the house myself and John is always willing to listen to my thoughts about how something should be maintained/fixed and then gives me solid advice in return.

Couldn't ask for more. Friendly, prompt, competent, quality oriented, have a very good relation to their workers. I have dealt with a lot of trades people in 40 years of home ownership. These guys are very, very good. Plus Johnny (the owner) made knowledgeable suggestions that helped to improve the final product.

We were in need of an urgent repair of our gutter and Johnny and his team were quick to respond. Johnny answered his phone on the first call and sent his crew to our place to assess the problem and then walked us through the fix. Johnny really tries to do the best for his customers and goes out of his way to even save us money. He team was also great -- very friendly and professional. I have not used Palo Alto Roofing for any work yet, but I am giving five stars for John being such a helpful, conscientious person and having integrity!
I called him in a panic yesterday morning when I discovered that our roof was leaking quite a bit, and he said he would be able to come pretty quickly after another appointment. I would have happily paid him to repair our roof, but he encouraged me to try and find the person who originally put on the roof (for our home's previous owner), and explained how the roof warranty works (since our roof was less than five years old, we would likely

They don't answer their telephone. I have called 6 times in the last two days and never gotten a human being.
EDIT, 6/5/2017: A month ago Johnny wrote me and asked if he could do anything to change my mind. It's been such a long time that the repair I needed before wasn't necessary anymore, but my home needed the eaves cleaned and it's not an easy cleaning job. So I offered it to him.
The quote was a little on the high side but his team's work was absolutely top-notch, very high quality and well done. No dings on the eaves, nothing. Just perfectly clear gutters.

Johnny and his team did a great job. I called during a break in the big storm and he was able to get his team out the next morning to repair my roof and clear my gutters and downspouts. He had a three-man team come first thing in the morning and they were finished by noon! Johnny has been wonderful to work with. The whole process has been very easy, fast, and most importantly he did a great job! Looking forward to using him and his team again.

Roof leaks can be straightforward as in, I see the blue sky from inside the home, or arguably worse yet, you may have a leak that is not consistent and difficult to trace. I had the latter happen to me and after speaking to Johnny on the phone, he said he could come out the next day to diagnose, even though he has been inundated with requests for repairs and estimates throughout the Bay Area.

More than once I've called him in the middle of a downpour (usually the first of the season) and have been able to schedule an appointment at short notice to take care of a leaky roof while it was raining.
John has always done a good job and handled himself with professionalism and cheerfulness. He conducts himself as a member of the community with the attitude of a helpful neighbor.
