Stayed here for the Chicago Marathon, so please note that most of my feedback on this hotel pertains to staying there specifically for race weekend.
Pros: There are many! For race weekend, the number one advantage is the proximity to the start and finish line. I actually found this hotel via the Chicago Marathon website. This is a partner hotel and it showed that this hotel is less than a mile from the start line and only about a quarter mile from the finish line. Can't beat that!
They also give you complimentary bottled Aquafina water which was a game changer. Especially since the race

Honestly, the hotel wasn't as beautiful as I thought it'd be. We paid a little extra to get a king deluxe and honestly... the room size was pretty standard. Our view from our window was a brick wall to the alley behind.
On the plus side, early check in fee was only $25 which was great since our flight landed in Chicago early. Complimentary water bottles were supplied which was great because I got a bottle before I left everyday. A keurig and mini fridge were also in the room. The location is great, you can walk to the bean or cindys and is close to 3 different stops.

So so wonderful. Literally half a block from EVERYWHERE we needed to go. The room was so spacious and comfortable, we WANTED to spend more time in it. But the staff was even better. Beverly at the front desk was amazing when we checked in (even though we were completely exhausted from a red eye) and was just as friendly and helpful throughout our whole stay. Also, greatly helpful we're Anastasia at the front desk and Enrique at the door. I'm highly recommending the Silversmith for any friends of mine who have to travel to Chicago.

I was excited to stay here until I got into bed and found a bunch of blond hairs in it. It was so late and I was exhausted from traveling all day. I called the front desk and the gal offered to switch rooms but I hardly wanted to pack my luggage up again, all I wanted to do was sleep.
I asked if they could just send up fresh sheets and I would change them myself.
She said the manager would be in touch, never heard anything from them.
I called the next morning to speak to management to see what they could do for me since clearly it looked like the bedding was never changed, and no one was in. Again

Great hotel right in the heart of everything. It's only one street away from the park with the giant silver bean. Great restaurants nearby. Great bars. Everything in walking distance. There is even a CTA Blue Line nearby to get to Chicago O'Hare airport for only $3/person.
Comfortable king sized bed. Large room. Nice bathroom. Really reasonably priced.
There is an elevated train just outside of the building, so I would highly recommend not being on the street side, or too low. We stayed on the 10th floor, courtyard side, so, I could barely hear the train.
Also, the concierge

Definitely a weird experience. First of all there's no room service which was super inconvenient. On top of that, they don't have regularly scheduled house keeping, so if you order UberEats you have to throw it away yourself. Additionally, we had a clogged toilet and instead of someone coming to fix it, they brought us a plunger and stood outside and waited for us to fix it. If you need towels, waters, or toilet paper, you have to go down to the front desk and ask. They also will only give you two towels at once. The beds were comfortable, but you can definitely find that at other hotels

Ok hotel with no view at all. Hard to look out the window and see no sky on the 5th floor. We are close to Lake but see an Alley. I Asked for higher floor but no luck. Room is clean. Entrance is easy to miss.. it's that small. Room was smaller than advertised. I think the bathroom is more spacious. I will not be booking this hotel again. Disappointed

Took this trip during COVID and this was a lovely hotel to stay in. You can check in virtually and access your room with an app, which was awesome! There were very little people staying at the hotel
From what I can tell. I got an upgrade which was nice. When I'm back in Chicago I will definitely stay here.

We stayed here this past weekend 10/23-10/25, the hotel is very clean, they practice social distancing. Staffs are genuine and accommodating. I had upgraded my room because I wanted to use the bath bombs I was gifted for my birthday. The king deluxe had the walk in showers. The suite was only $30/night upgrade and it was all worth it, it came with two TV's, sectional couch, larger room and bathrooms. Bathrooms both had separate shower and tub. The rooms were very clean, staff were quick to assist including free water bottles upon request. The staff brought up the new key cards up to my first

We stayed here for 2 nights and 3 days last weekend. Prior to arriving in Chicago we thought oh perfect location and beautiful hotel!! When we got there, yes to the perfect location but not as beautiful as we thought.
There were two homeless men sitting outside of the door waiting to follow us in. The doors are always locked so we had to wait 3-5 minutes every time for someone to open the doors for us. One door is for entrance only and the other is for exit only. One night we decided to ask why the door was always locked and the agent told us it was for safety purposes, but we did not feel safe

We checked in the hotel yesterday July 15. after we checked in, the concierge lady recommended us buy the boat cruise tickets from them that we got better price they offer us $31 per person. If we buy at the gate which is $47 per person, so it is good deal, but they trick us. We paid cash with a 100 dollar bill, they changed us $38. When we got to ticket office where we checked in, the cage lady said we had to pay $47 per person. We took out the voucher copy, the voucher don't even show the price of the total that we paid, we don't even got receipt from them that we paid the silversmith

Our stay in this hotel was great, especially for the price.
The hotel clearly was renovated not long ago, as the decor (carpeting, wallpaper, furniture, light fixtures) all looked new. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was very clean, location was great.
This was our 5th time in Chicago and we've stayed in 6 different hotels, so rating this as my favorite for sure.

We recently went to Chicago to see Hamilton and chose The Silversmith for our stay. From the moment we arrived, to the last step out of the hotel, we loved our stay. We arrived prior to check in time and upon arrival, the woman at check in shared that there were rooms available, however, she suggested that we wait until check in time to secure a better room. We were glad that she shared this with us and went to grab a quick bite to eat. When we came back and checked in, we were given a great room on the back side of the hotel that was completely quiet.
The toiletries were excellent with an extra

Let's just first start off with- yes they charge an additional charge on top of your stay for "destination fees" basically $15 (plus tax) a night for 2 water bottles and wifi. Unless you use the gym, robes, and store your bag (the normal stuff that every other hotel offers for free) it's totally a rip off, but what are you gonna do? Can't do much except drink your $15 water bottles every day. Haha.
Anyway, besides the added fee, the place is pretty cool, a boutique hotel. Our room had high ceilings with tall windows and lots of space. The bathroom and room were cleaned

My husband booked this hotel for this past weekend for a special occasion. We had a long drive to Chicago coming from Detroit, the valet upfront was honestly really friendly and gave us tips on where to go and what to do. BUT The front desk this so unorganized, it's terrible! You call the front desk, the way the answer.. it's so unprofessional.
For a hotel that labels themselves a "4-5star hotel" and as beautiful as it is..you'd think they have the right kind of staff to go along with it. It was honestly just the front desk we had an issue with. We called to get ice to
