Services
Dr. John Gerstenmaier is a Northeast Ohio native. He graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School, received his bachelor's degree from Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) and attended Northwestern University Dental School. After graduating from Northwestern, Dr. John worked for the Indian Health Service - a U.S. Department of Health and Human Services agency that provides healthcare to Native American and Alaskan Native peoples.
From day one, the highly trained and experienced Gerstenmaier Pediatric Dentistry team provides energetic and fun-loving service to every family and child who comes into our office. We want you to feel right at home the moment you first arrive, and we're committed to putting your child's needs first.
We try our best to accommodate our patients as much as possible when scheduling appointments. Children with extensive dental work or preschool children are better served early in the morning when they can have a more positive experience. Some appointments may require the child to miss some school; however, these are considered excused absences.
We never want costs to stand in the way of quality treatment, which is why we are dedicated to providing our patients with care that is both effective and affordable. Your treatment plan will include a breakdown of all applicable fees, and we will inform you of all costs before treatment is administered.
New parents have plenty to worry about: making sure their baby is healthy and happy, re-arranging their lives around hectic schedules and lost sleep, and figuring out what to do in all sorts of novel situations. When it comes to your child's oral health, though, there's plenty of help available. It all begins at our office, when you bring your youngster in for his or her first visit to the dentist.

The receptionist is highly rude!!!!! I missed my son's appointment for the 1st time ever when covid hit so much happened when my job shut down I called to apologize and reschedule and she was rude n told me to write it down this time and make sure I don't miss it. (I have never missed an appointment it was an accident) and almost seemed like she was punishing me for missing n schedual me 4 months out found a new place to take him much sooner. tried to cancel and no one even answers their phone been calling for 3 days now to cancel his appointment can't seem to get anyone to answer.

Dentist seems pretty kid friendly only met him once though! My son was supposed to have an out patient surgery back in January and he ended up getting covid so they said they elwood call back in 4-6 weeks to reschedule and never did! I have tried calling and every time I call either noobe answers or the receptionist that does answer is very rude! Not sure why ppl work with the public if they don't like ppl or have no type of personality!! Wish they would find a new receptionist makes the place seem uninviting!!

We still drive over 50 miles for my kids to see these dentists. Both dentists make my kids feel comfortable and they genuinely care about their patients. I know my kids are in good hands. If you can get past the rude receptionist you'll enjoy the dental experience.
Unfortunately, their receptionist/secretary is awful. She is always rude to us. I have tried to be extra nice but she is awful. I actually ask my husband to call and make our appointments because I can't stand talking to her. It's too bad she is kept on as an employee. Both dentists are so nice at this practice but

All 4 of my kids go here and the dentists are amazing. They did so well with my youngest son. He's autistic and doesn't like the dentist, but they kept their patience with him and did a great job.
Only reason they aren't getting 5 stars is because of their receptionist. Shes so rude and has a horrible attitude. Something needs done about that!
She acts like you're a major inconvenience to her because she has to do HER JOB!! I witnessed her talk to someone on the phone in a very rude manner and then put that person on hold and say "I can't deal with that right now" as she rolled her eyes. She

Amazing pediatric dentist! My son is only two years old and we went today for the first time and had the most amazing experience. The dentist is very patient and very gentle! Got called back to see him right on time. Everyone was very friendly. Couldn't have asked for a better dentist for my son! Highly recommend!! 😊😊😊

I give one star because I can't give zero. Took my twins there and not knowing any better let them take them
Back together. BIG MISTAKE!!! You would think after being in practice as long as they have they would know better. One freaked out after watching the other get a cavity fixed. Myself, my dad & a nurse had to hold my poor 5 year old down to the chair while they gave him
A shot and worked on his mouth. All while another nurse held his brother from running out of the room. After moving and getting a MUCH better experience at a different dentist I see what a GREAT pediatric dentist
