Italian Mexican fusion restaurant with a costal beach vibe to it. Great food with lots of outdoor seating and they have live music. Fun place to eat with a wide variety of options. The mussels were SO fresh, can’t wait to come back again to try them!

Happy hour menu is unparalleled - the margaritas are great and everything we ordered was awesome. Our waiter Max was top notch and very attentive. Will be back.

This was my first time trying Le Papagayo, and this restaurant has an awesome vibe! Live music was very enjoyable.

I ordered the Barcelona Traditional Paella, while my mom ordered the Lobster Roll with a side of Onion Rings. My paella was very delicious and flavorful. The onion rings were very good as well.

Overall, the restaurant has a great atmosphere, staff are friendly, and portions are pretty generous. I will come back again :) .

I had the Roasted Hawaiian Kahlua Pork. It comes with a huge portion of pork, which isn’t a bad thing but it was almost too much, a bit of rice and some delicious grilled pineapple.
I may have eaten too much of the bottomless bread with pesto dip before my main meal got to me, but if you order that bread basket you will understand why. Do order the bread, even though it will 100% ruin your meal after 3 orders of it.
Great service here too. That bread was on our table in minutes.

LISTEN to this recommendation After a sunny day at the beach and an empty stomach DONT walk RUN to Le Papagayo ! For my first time there, I can tell this place is my new all time favorite restaurant. THE FOOD WAS Exquisite , the live entertainment by Sierra Marin was perfect for the night and don't get me started on our amazing waiter MAX. Our date night was everything we ever wanted . Can wait to visit again !

This place has their private parking spot but limited for first come first serve but there are lots of street parking can find. They offer big dinning area & breakfast, lunch, dinner menu. Lots of option to choose on the menu. We got the Leucadia breakfast special & chicken pesto sandwich. The Leicadia Special was delicious but my French Toast was cold & I asked them about this & they were happy to remake it for me in the right way. The chickens sandwich was lean & fresh. Vert good customer service !

Love their outdoor space. The service has always been friendly and great. The brunch/breakfast menu has never disappointed, and I always like to try something new.

Love the location in Encinitas, easy to grab a bite and then go for a walk or do some shopping. Parking hasn't ever been an issue, and each table has a heat lamp (outside) which helps.

This place was bigger than I had expected. It has a dim/intimate atmosphere with heater throughout wit live music throughout the night that we were there. Service was great and the food was good. I wouldn't say the portions are super huge but the food overall was delicious. Flavor was great in the fish and ravioli and the fish was cooked perfect.

This restaurant is such a fun, eclectic place to enjoy a meal. I met my friend here for dinner on a Wednesday and our server was excellent. He was kind and helpful and always offered us more time if we needed it.

We enjoyed a few cocktails on their outdoor (street side) patio and then ordered dinner. The live music was very fun, coming from inside the bar. The open windows added to the ambience and we could hear the music very well.

The only odd thing was that the menu lacked identity. I assumed, for some reason, that we were eating Mexican food of some sort based on the restaurant name, but

Service was quick! We ordered way too much for happy hour. My favorite were the mussels and calamari - so get those. I didn't get to try the flatbread cuz I was too full but the family said it was good. The ribs was meh..

The lobster bisque with grilled cheese is out of this world delicious. Their chilaquiles and tamales were unforgettable! The delicious food combined with top-notch service makes me want to come back again tomorrow and try some more of their dishes

I'd like to also add that Christine the manager came over to our table and asked about our meals with great sincerity. 10/10 would recommend

HANDS DOWN, THE BEST breakfast place in the area! Portion sizes are excellent! You'll definitely need a to-go box. The prices are a little high but the quality of your breakfast definitely matches the price. Staff is super friendly and service was fast. We got the green Chile chilaquiles and scrambled eggs, the Papagayo skillet (3 sunny side eggs, avocado sauce, sausage ham and bacon with roasted potatoes) and the classic pancake stack with eggs and bacon.

This place never stops to amaze me!

We came in on a Saturday night with no reservations and was told there would be at least 1.5 hr wait. When we turned around, one of the hosts rushed after us and told us there was a last minute cancellation.

We were pretty lucky and got a table right in front of the live performance. It was a little loud, but we enjoyed it tremendously. The performers (Johny C and Sonia) were amazing that night.

Bread basket was delicious! Free refills and the pesto sauce was bomb! I munched on a little too much of those before the

Really good environment... awesome vibe. Live music on Sunday was really enjoyable. The muscles were absolutely delightful.... The sauce will blow your mind. Get the muscles, if you don't love muscles... still order them Definitely try some pesto with bread.

Generally the drinks are good... their Sangria is yummy.

Le Papagayo was a wonderful choice for our Sunday brunch. It's located on a major street with lots of seating on the front or back patio as well as indoors. I was expecting a wait but we were seated immediately at an indoor table right next to their large roll-up windows with plenty of fresh air. Our server was adorable, a laid-back surfer kid. We ordered bottomless mimosas (which I didn't see on the menu) and he kept our glasses refilled, always checked on us and made good conversation.

Good food , Big portions, and friendly staff! Located along highway 101, this place is good for Sunday brunch with friends and family. It can be a bit pricey but if you're a local and can afford to live in Encinitas I'm sure you can afford eating here once in a while.

Come for the great live music and atmosphere, stay for much more! Sit indoors or outside, choose from a wide variety of delicious menu options (*warning: the sweet potato fries are addictive) and engage with knowledgable and very attentive staff. Great photos of classic musicians (Bob Marley and more) decorate some of the indoor walls in a tasteful manner...Very creative and stylish.
Came on a Thursday night and grabbed a copy of the music line-up for the entire month; will definitely be back. Spontaneous dancing occurred more than once throughout our dinner...What a festive and passionate place

I hosted my rehearsal dinner at Le Papagayo for 40 people. The staff here was super kind and accommodating and everything went smoothly and turned out perfectly. The vibe here is laid back with string lights, greenery, heat lamps and pillows. So cute!

Pros: Was able to be seated right away on a busy Friday, and the drinks were delicious and strong

Cons: service not very good. Started off well, but after I ordered my drink, and later received it, the server kinda disappeared. Which was irritating since I was starving and ready to order.

Eventually I was able to order and I will say the shrimp ceviche was delicious! I added avocado which was extra and I must say I actually liked it better without it.. Overall nice little spot, and loved that there was live music playing. So I probably will be back again.

Amazing! My experience was unforgettable. The ambiance, the staff, and the food - the trifecta! Live music, inside and outside dining, everything was terrific. Parking was hard to come by.

This menu is worth the wait. If you're looking for a boozy brunch, a savory snack, or something for your sweet tooth - they have it all. I've been here a few times now and I've always left full and happy. There's usually a wait during brunch hours, especially on Sunday's, but it's worth it.

Also, the staff is always friendly and handles the large crowds extremely well.

Honestly, the best pesto I've ever tasted!!! We had a wonderful dinner experience and the staff was very kind about finding us a table although we made a reservation error. Nice for dinner!

This is a really really popular spot in Encinitas, I made the RSVP one week before to make sure to get a table. The place is cute and cozy. The foods are nice, I loved the short ribs and my salad was pretty delicious too. The drinks are fine, not surprisingly good, but not bad. The only thing is, maybe the place is too popular, so the service is super slow, we had to wait a long time to order an extra drink and also get our bill.

Outdoor dining was very nice; the have a lot of heaters and tables are separated well.
Food was very good. I had the chicken satay with spicy peanut sauce, lemongrass rice and veggies; my dining companion had blackened shrimp scampi pasta. The entrees were very good but we had also ordered salads. Definitely would recommend splitting as we were both full before our entrees arrived.
Service was excellent. Our server was attentive without hovering and everything was exactly as ordered.
