Robata is a traditional japanese style grilling which originated in Northern Japan by fishermen who slowly cooked their catches over coal boxes. Translated it means fireside cooking. The grill is heated by hot coals and kept at a perfect temperature while basting the finest meats, seafood, and vegetables.

The food has been great any time I’ve been here. What sticks out to me now though, is that I ordered delivery through a third party app, and the driver, or app dropped the ball. I called the restaurant to see what had happened, and Jeremy went above and beyond to help me figure out which driver picked up my order (the app sent 4 different drivers to pick up one order). There was no incentive to Jeremy for helping me, as the issue was not the restaurant’s fault, and the food was already paid for through the app. With labor shortages and a global pandemic causing tension in every local restaurant

Me and a group of 6 people, mainly black, went inside and asked if we could have a table. Very shortly after asking, a man dressed in red stated no tables were available. It didn’t look at the time that they even checked the availability of seating. After we left, we observed the restaurant outside and saw several tables available including one empty one that had 6 chairs. We felt as if our color was a factor in us not getting a table. At the time, there were also no black people in the restaurant.

I went to Kemuri for my birthday dinner. This was my first experience dining at Kemuri. I ordered the special Kemuri platter which is a mix of Sushi and Sashimi. I also had the calamari for an appetizer. I have lived in Japan and the Pacific Islands for 20 years so I am a bit picky when it comes to Japanese food and sushi. Everything was perfect. Our server Jeremy was also 5 star. I would give him more if possible. Jerrmy even picked a perfect birthday desert for Mr. Thank you Kemuri for a wonderful dining experience.

My husband and I shared a steak that was very good. I appreciate it when restaurants don't balk if you want to split an entree. That said, they didn't bring out another plate, but I just put my portion on a small bread plate. Waitress friendly and helpful. We were a party of six and everyone enjoyed their food. They brought out a nice dessert at no charge since it was our anniversary.

The restaurant was highly recommended for Sushi and it did not disappoint. The sushi was very fresh and the server was fantastic. Ordered a few rolls to share along with some sashimi. Also ordered a seared ahi tuna bowl. The recommended dessert absolutely hit the spot. Reservations are recommended as they seem to get busy as the evening progressed but we went early and they were able to accommodate us on a Tuesday evening.

One of the best restaurants in Little Rock. Our server was funny and polite. We didn’t have to wait too long for the food. We made a reservation for our anniversary but they thought it was birthday celebration so they didn’t get the message on the dessert plate right but at least they tried to make the night special and we appreciate it. Obviously food was super good!
