My name is Melodie Blair. I am the founder and director of Village Learning, a family home child care located in the Renton Highlands. Creating for-and teaching-children is far more than a job for me; I would have to say that it is my life calling. In the greater sense, it is a shared responsibility of parenting, with every parent, for every child.
At Village Learning we create an environment where building relationships is held close to the heart as an important element for happiness in the life of each child. It is of great importance that we offer an environment for our daycare, child care, preschool, and summer camp programs where we're surrounded by our own green pastures and the park's forest.
Melodie offers a preschool program and it is, by far, even better than kindergarten curriculum. My daughter learns her alphabet and numbers by "playing" and "singing". Village Learning offers careful preparation and planning indoors and out of doors through both facility layout and program design. Why is this so important?

At Village Learning, art is available every day as part of our creative arts and craft program. The importance of art as an experience that allows a child to actualize and internalize their experience without interruption, direction, or modeling is essential for their well-being, growth, and development.

My 4YO has been attending Village Learning for over a year and my 3YO just started over the summer this past year. Both of the children LOVE Ms. Melodie and her staff. They demonstrate such compassion and care for our kids which means so much in addition to the educational factor. My kids learn so much by doing AND traditional learning. They love playing outdoors, caring for Ms. Melodie's horses, chickens and bunnies, and they really love putting on performances on stage. I couldn't ask for a better environment that my husband and I both trust the kids are safe in. The children are also so kind

I used to work here around 2 years ago. Was the best job I ever had, Melodie is amazing and loves the kids so so much, seeing how much effort and love she put into her preschool. It was inspiring, the atmosphere for the kids is just amazing. I would definitely recommend you to bring your kids here! They learn so much! and its always learning in a fun way, with the garden, the horses and the indoor time with reading and learning activities. It was a joy to work here. And to see the children so happy.

When we first started our search for childcare it quickly became a very discouraging process. For our family I was looking for something that matched our family values and philosophy and when I found Village learning it seemed too good to be true. It was exactly what I imagined my dream childhood experience to be (for me and my daughter).
The list is long why I love this place and Melodie has created such a magical environment of imaginative learning. When we first started school there was an adjustment period during pick up time, my daughter was devastated to leave each day. Understandably, I

It has been a pleasure to work with Melodie through our daughters’ transition from home care to preschool. She has been instrumental in providing guidance and support for us.
The love and warmth from Melodie and her staff visibly instilled in the children that they care for. It was so heartwarming to see our daughter welcomed not only by the staff, but the children too! Their sweet demeanor is representative of the care they receive.

Our daughter went to Village Learning Child Care seven years ago, and often refers to the fun, friendship and learning she had there as the "good old days". She still has ongoing friendships with two other girls that she met while going there.
Melodie Blair the director is such an amazing advocate for the well-being of the children she is entrusted with. She and the programs she creates are a rare find for any child, especially in this day in age. She creates such a rich, imaginative, creative and loving space that encourages the shyest of children to blossom. The place reminds me of the Little

My best childhood memories were formed here. I will forever be mesmerized by the garden flourishing each spring, the sounds of the chickens in the morning, and a view of the horses grazing in the pasture. From the time I was born, Village Learning became a second home and sanctuary for me. When you walk in you can feel the warm, welcoming energy. I hope one day I’m able to send my children to Village Learning and no place could ever compare to it.

I used to work at Village Learning and absolutely loved it there! The first time I walked into this beautiful place my first thought was, "Wow! I wish I was a child again!" Working for Ms. Melodie the owner has been a blessing in my life. I learned so much from her; things that will stick with me for the rest of my life, things like selfless love and devotion to caring for others. I've never met a woman that works so and yet, enjoys so much what she does. It's her lifestyle! She loves the kids and instills in them love for themselves, for others and the world around them. I've worked at different

I can’t say enough about my daughter’s experience at Village Learning. Melodie and her staff make learning fun; my daughter never felt that she was being “taught” in the traditional sense, even though she was more than prepared for kindergarten! Her education at Village Learning included far more than typical preschool and pre-kindergarten skills. Children of all ages practice empathy, respect for living things, love and kindness. They explore their creativity though arts and crafts, performing on stage, and playing in the outdoor village and treehouse. My daughter especially loved helping
