Child Garden Preschool & Kindergarten
Starting preschool or childcare can be a stressful time for the whole family, but it doesn't have to be! Learn what you can do to make the first day of preschool a pleasant experience for everyone. Trusting strangers to take care of your precious child can be difficult. At The Child Garden, we start as strangers and we end as family.

Be sure to check out "Tomorrow's A School Day"on amazon and kindle, or ask our Center Director Miss Hayley about it in person. The Child Garden Preschool has been in constant operation since 1955. We have parents who attended our childcare now entrusting us with their children. Curriculum, even at 3 months old, can help lay the ground work towards a lifetime of education.
Services
The Child Garden Preschool has been educating children for more than 59 years. Our school begins with the recognition of the uniqueness of each child and the treatment of all children with the dignity and respect accorded to all human beings. We believe that positive self -esteem is the most important asset that a child can have and we do all we can to enhance each child's self image in a warm and loving atmosphere.
Words from the owner/director Miss Hayley: Since 1955, The Child Garden has been educating and serving the Reno area from the very same building at 455 Hill Street. I am proud to be able to say I am part of that great history. I hold a Bachelor's of Science in Elementary Education and a Preschool Child Development Associates Degree.
The Sprout Room has children ages 6 weeks - 16 months. It offers a loving and nurturing environment that allows them to explore developmentally appropriate toys. We let the children follow their own schedule and focus on what the child needs. We also work on sign language! The Caterpillar Room has children ages 12 months - 24 months.
At the Child Garden our families and our children are our biggest fans! Our most valuable measure of how we are performing as a school is how happy our children and their families are. We work together with the whole family to insure each student is growing and learning. The Child Garden has been in constant operation since 1955, with that long heritage comes thousands of families who have trusted The Child Garden with their children.

We enrolled our little one here as we were waitlisted at our first choice school. After being here for 6 months, we are sad to leave. Child Garden is not a full fledged school, it really is more of a neighborhood daycare but with a diligent owner who is a good educator and a good business woman. She is genuinely kind and runs a caring facility for your kids. The teachers in the baby class went beyond what we expected for baby care - our son seemed happy to be there and genuinely excited to see the teachers.

It's small which I actually don't mind although the yard could use some major

My granddaughter loves going to her school. She has learned a lot here and at the same time has made friends. My son and I can tell she has a lot fun too. The staff is amazing! They've been very kind, patient and considerate with my son's situation. We thank you for helping us make our little Leia's time in school so enjoyable and successful.

I honestly cannot say enough wonderful things about Child Garden! Hailey, the director, was always extremely communicative with me and with my daughter’s teacher, and answered a lot of questions for me. My daughter’s teacher, Miss Natalie, is the single best preschool teacher I have ever seen (and I worked in childcare as well as for the school district; she’s the best of the best)! She was so loving and encouraging to my daughter (even had a cute personalized nick name for her), was always excited to see her when I dropped her off, had a genuine bond with all of her students and was nothing

I've been meaning to write this review for some time. We've had our daughter (now 3.5) at the Child Garden since she was 18 months old, and we are so happy we ended up here. The director and staff have been flexible, understanding and such a help when issues arise. After a few things of my daughter's went missing in the beginning (water bottle, random clothing), the director went above and beyond to make adjustments that really helped solved our struggles. While there has been some teacher turnover, i have to say I've been happy with all of the choices, as I feel the director

I send both my children to the Child Garden and have been incredibly happy with our experience there. Probably the most telling sign is that my kids often don't want to leave when I go to pick them up. The teachers (because that is what it feels like . . . not simply babysitting) are engaged with the children every time I show up, even in the middle of the day. There are regular progress reports, art projects, outside play time, and a general feeling of community. If you're lucky enough to move from the waitlist to a slot, don't hesitate. Well worth the cost.

We brought our daughter here at age 19 months and are glad we haven't had to look much further. We instantly fell in love with her teacher Ms. Natalie. She is kind, energetic and the children have so much fun with her. Our daughter has since moved into the 2 year old room and seems to be thriving there as well her teachers Ms. Samantha and Ms. Courtney always seem excited to see her and make the morning transition easier.

We have had a few issues with missing clothing items and water bottles but minus the occasional lost sock we have always found all of her belongings by weeks end.

I've been meaning to write a review for a while. My 4 year oldson has been in Child Garden for about 6 months. He loves it and so do I. The hours are great. The teachers are wonderful and the school is run by people who really care. His language skills have really improved since we enrolled and he's learning new stuff every day. He has a great time and I feel.good about having him there all day and all week. I feel like they are really getting him ready for kinder garden.

No no no! 1st off a lot of reviews on here are from people who work their. So this is coming from a normal parent. They do not care about your children's belongings or there individual needs. 2 of my sons jackets have gone missing and 3 of his cups. They don't care if other kids drink out of other kids cups. If you complain you get nothing but laughs and a careless response. The last time I complained I was told that my son needs to go somewhere else. I've tried to engage with the teachers about how can I help my son with his 10page homework they send home with him. Once again a

My daughter has been attending this school since July 2014, and it was out first experience with her venturing outside of the house without us hovering. As soon as we took a tour with Mrs.Sandy I knew this was the school for us. I'm like most moms; a complete freak about my kid and their safety, and I think it's rare you can go somewhere and instantly feel like you can trust them with your child. Since she's started there she has completely flourished emotionally, socially and verbally. We plan to keep her here until she graduates from their private Kindergaten because the care is

So far, so great. We've only got one kid so far (2yr old girl) and after finding info about Child Garden at the children's museum we decided to take a tour and see if this was the route for us. We started our daughter at 19mo after having her just with us and family. It was time for some constructive socializing along with a fun learning environment.

Not sure how most people rate a pre school. To me it came down to if I felt my daughter would be safe and if the teachers would nurture this only child's social and communication skills. My wife felt very comfortable by the school site

My daughter has gone to this school for 2 year and we love it.. She has learned all her letters and numbers and is even learning Spanish. The teachers are loving, caring and great with the children. We have made friends with the other families and my daughter looks forward to going to school every day. This is a great school.

Owner Sandy is very welcoming and friendly, unfortunately she is not the primary caretaker of your child. Unfortunately the teachers do not have Early Childhood Education experience, and you pay for what you get. At the open house of the center I had my child's primary teacher tell me she was "bored". Sadly some teachers are there because it is a job.... I always got the feeling that the care was disconnected! When dropping my child was never warmly welcomed, when picking my child up none of the teachers could actually say how my child's day was. Poor communication was
