I hold a Limited License Psychologist license from the State of Michigan. This is a Masters level license. I received my Gradute Degree in Counseling Psychology in 1998 from Western Michigan University. I have worked in a variety of mental health settings for over 25 years and I use a variety of consultation and therapeutic techniques depending on the situation and needs of the people I see in therapy.

So, I wanted to give you some info on what counseling is about and how to pick a counselor that will help. There is a lot of stuff on line that you can look at, but I don't want to just rehash what's there, so I'll describe my ideas about it. I use the term counselor and therapist interchangeably. A psychologist may also fall into this category.
