Counseling is the process of promoting self-awareness and wellness through the employment of essential counseling techniques, some of which include: Socratic questioning, active and empathetic listening, caring confrontation, accountability and various homework assignments.

It is our belief that when a client is operating within a safe environment the client is better able to take advantage of their increased awareness by making positive, healthy, and rational changes in thinking and/or behavior that will aid in alleviating or coping with biopsychosocial stressors that often cause emotional distress.

Close to my home and my counselor is truly helpful (Sean). We aren't the same type of person but he has been extremely helpful over the last 1.5 years. His ability to put my word vomit into something approachable, understandable, and surmountable truly blows me away.
