You're trying your best, but life didn't use to be this hard. Things aren't going right. You notice it's harder to be happy, to feel connected, or even to get out of bed in the morning. Whole Self Counseling GR can help. We offer a safe place to process all the things you've been holding in. The sadness, grief, worry, disappointment, loneliness, shame, and anger, we can work through it.
We'll work together to find the best tools for you to get unstuck. To get you back to living the life you want. To help you discover your authentic, whole self. We only know what we know. There's so much about life that we're never taught, or the ways we were taught were unhelpful or harmful. I believe that every person has the ability to change, grow, and heal.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a type of interactive therapy that is founded on the philosophy that the brain/body connection can bring healing from the symptoms of distressing life events. Led by the therapist, you will recreate eye movements, back and forth, that allow deeper processing in the brain.
If only it was that easy! Usually by the time people seek out counseling, they've tried a number of things to control and reduce worry. Sometimes we find something that stops it for the moment, but it often comes back. Nothing seems to work. Some anxiety is natural, like giving a presentation, an unexpected turn of events, a new medical diagnosis, or going on a first date.
It often sneaks up on us. It impacts our relationships, our view of ourselves, and our goals. It takes our motivation and energy, and often leaves us feeling depleted and tired. Feeling bad about yourself - or that you are a failure or have let yourself or your family down.

Shame is a universal feeling. No one gets out of this world without experiencing it. However, shame is a really sneaky emotion and we often lack the language and understanding of how to describe it. Shame can be in the shadows of our depression and anxiety. It's often the voice behind our negative thoughts about ourselves.
Burnout occurs when we are in a state of chronic stress for a significant amount of time. It's a state of diminished functioning and mood. Though burnout doesn't happen suddenly, we often miss the sign of it until suddenly we just don't feel like things can continue as they are. We can experience burnout in most areas of our lives; parenthood, ministry, school, and career.
