Family HealthCare Associates primary care physicians partner with patients to provide the highest level of care. We want you to be an active participant in planning and managing your healthcare. With eleven primary care clinic locations across the metroplex, you are sure to find a primary care physician who meets your individual needs.
Family HealthCare Associates provides After Hours Care as an extension of your primary care needs by providing care during non-traditional hours. We offer the added benefit of an electronic medical record that facilitates communication back to your primary care physician. Our primary care doctors provide services to our After Hours Care patients on a rotating schedule.
All of our primary care physicians offer virtual health visits for non-emergency medical concerns. You can schedule a virtual appointment here. Make sure to select whether you are a New or Returning Patient, then follow the prompts to select your clinic location, provider, and appointment type. If you feel you have a medical condition that requires an in-person visit, please contact your local office.

I called to make an appointment on Monday afternoon, and was offered 3 options for the next morning. We have been seeing Dr. Short for at least 15 years now. He is an excellent physician with your health and well being as his primary goal. The staff at the Plano location has always been responsive and thorough. They are kind and friendly and we enjoy speaking with them.

This places only redeeming factor is Dr. Maxwell.
The front staff was so unhelpful and downright condescending to my wife over the phone. Oh, and what business tells you on their voicemail that, if you leave multiple messages, you will not receive a call back. True story. I'm going back for Dr. Maxwell, and maybe some coffee. But seriously, some of that front desk staff needs to be at the DMV, behind the counter at a gas station in South Dallas, or me... because I hate my job too. But I hate it with a smile.

Great doctors. I see Dr. Mastrogiovanni and my husband and son see Dr Short. They are kind compassionate doctors that listen. They spend good amount of time and I never felt rushed.
The drawback to that is that sometimes you do have to wait a few minutes for your appointment. The lab tech is amazing. He smiles and hums and is incredibly accurate with his draws. No pain and no mark left.
I highly recommend this practice.

I would give a zero if there was one.
Dr. Short’s office has no respect for his patients time. We have always been early or on time. We have always have to wait at least an hour. If you are 5 minutes late from filling out multiple forms again; you are treated as walk-ins. We waited 2 hours and still were not seen. We have to take time off work again on another day for one immunization shot.

Overall not bad, but the employees all seem to dread everything and their billing practices are straight up predatory.
Went for a routine check-up and was told that one of my enzymes was a bit high and that I need to come back for another blood test. I came back a few weeks later and saw the doctor about it for a few minutes, had the blood test, and was then told that my "cost for the visit" which I then paid for and left.
Then weeks later I receive a bill for triple what I was charged at the office. After calling in I was told that their "usual practice" is to charge patients

I have never been so outraged! This place needs to rethink their front desk employees. We decided to try this office, because it was open during the holidays, when our regular doctor's office was closed. The front desk girl, who's name I will not name, but she knows who she is, was completely unaccommodating. My husband had misplaced his insurance card, so instead of her talking to the insurance company herself, so that he could go into his appointment, she had him wait on the phone for 20 minutes and miss his appointment. I made an appointment here this morning because my usual doctor at the Richardson clinic is out of town. They had an opening and it wasn't too far from me. The appointment was at 4:15 and I was seen at 4:16, the shortest wait I've had at a doctor's office for sure. The waiting room had lots of toys for kids and magazines for adults who were waiting, although I didn't get much of a chance to look around.
The nurse was very polite and very detailed, noting down everything while still making pleasant conversation.

As a registered nurse, I see physicians work with patients on a daily basis. I see their bedside manner and their competency. Dr. Maxwell has the best bedside manner that I've ever seen in a Family Practice physician. I came in for a general wellness exam. He was on time, thorough, and didn't make me feel like he was rushing to get to the next patient. This was my first visit to him and I will definitely be using him as my primary care physician from now on. The office was very clean and updated. The staff were quick and friendly. Overall, this was an excellent place to receive healthcare

I really really wanted to like this family practice. My husband found Dr. Maxwell first and was fairly impressed. We had just moved here from San Diego and we had an amazing doc back home, so his shoes were big to fill. I was due for my yearly wellness physical, so I called the office and set one up with the new Doctor, Dr. Matthews. They had me fast so they could do all the blood work and labs. I arrived just as they opened and was seen shortly thereafter. The place was clean, receptionist and nurse were nice. Dr. Maxwell has been my general physician for years. He has gotten to know me, is very patient with me and is thorough with his examinations before prescribing anything. The staff as well are super. Nurse Brandi takes her time with you and tries to get as much information so that Dr. Maxwell knows how to proceed. I would recommend Dr. Maxwell and his staff to anyone!

I had to find a new Dr. after I moved away from home and looked online and went to the closest Dr. that my insurance provider carried and I love family healthcare associates Dr. Maxwell is so kind and really takes his time with his patients he makes sure you feel comfortable and asks a lot of questions to make sure you don't leave feeling unsure about your treatment and medications. His staff was very sweet and anytime I need to be seen they always are able to schedule me that day. I will be only seeing him from now on, I will also be recommending him to everyone I know!

Dr. Maxwell is a very caring family doctor. He will listen to you as long as it takes, he works with you like a team member to make sure you get the right diagnosis, meds and treatment. I am so grateful for him.
This office will get you in superfast usually within a few hours. Meds are called in promptly. Office staff and nurses are awesome. So are the on call doctors. I adore this center, they are a great team and they truly care about their patients. You are never just a paycheck to anyone there. God Bless Dr. Maxwell!
