Do not train a child to learn by force or harshness; but direct them to it by what amuses their minds, so that you may be better able to discover with accuracy the peculiar bent of the genius of each. Montessori Education is often referred to as "Self Education". Dr. Maria Montessori believed, as Aristotle did, that all education of the individual comes to him through his senses.
Our school offers the internationally recognized Montessori Primary curriculum. The Primary class in Montessori is composed of the normal three year age span, 3-6 year old children. Nautilus Montessori School accepts a limited number of two year old children who are ready to participate in the Primary classroom.
Full-day children will potentially have two class sessions per day, Monday through Friday. Nap excluded, as appropriate. Morning half-day classes are available to children 2-5 years of age, as space is available. Afternoon classes are available to children 2.5-6 years, as space is available. These classes focus on Transitional and Montessori Kindergarten level work.
Nautilus Montessori offers Art History/Experiential Art and Music Theory/Music Education to all our students as part of our normal curriculum. In addition to the internationally recognized Montessori curriculum, Nautilus Montessori School offers the following listed, supplemental areas of study to our children.
Our school community is provided opportunities to gather for relaxation, friendship and dinner once a month during the months of April through September. Everyone in our students immediate circle of family and friends is welcome to join in. Each family brings a food dish or two to share. This is a particularly delightful time for the children!
