Services
Saturday we are now offering a weeks worth of classes in one time slot. This is nice for the busy student that might be having trouble fitting in karate during the week! Saturday classes can also be a value added class. It can either be an extra time a week training or used as a make-up if a student misses during the week.
Is your 3-7 years old bored and need something to do? Join the fun at our Ninjago Lego Camp. Learn safety and listening skills while having a blast! Lunch provided daily. Looking for something for your 7-12 year old to do? You should have them join the fun at our Secret Agent Camp! Our secret agents will be learning secret agent skills, make and use spy gear, have nerf wars, perform secret missions.
Come join us in celebrating our karate progress! We test quarterly to show our new skills and achieve the next belts. This is how students progress on their journey to black belt. Friday recitals are at the karate school while Saturday recitals are at Irving Elementary. Recitals are how students move from rank to rank and progress on their journey to black belt.

I took a self defense class here and it was amazing! The instructors were incredibly kind and knowledgeable and fun to be around. We were taught how to escape duct tape, escape the trunk of a car (by voluntarily being put into a car trunk in a safe, controlled environment), how to deflect knife and gun attacks, and of course some basic points of attack. Best part was that the class is free to the community and they hold them multiple times a year. Can’t wait for the next class! Awesome place/people to be around and learn from.

I love this school and the instructors!! I have been training at the Family Karate Center now for three years. Sensei Elida and Sensei Jeff are wonderful instructors teaching great martial arts skills and self defense techniques. I have become a stronger, healthier, more confident individual since I came to study here. I'm hooked for life!!

Sound physical training and amazing life-skill building! This school is more than a school, its a community for the students, the teachers, and even the parents who are dragged along. Although the name implies it is a school for all ages(which is also extremely true), you really become part of more than a school when you join, you become a part of the family. I've trained with these teachers for 10 years now, and I have learned so much more than physical fitness or mental toughness. We learn how to serve those who are younger and weaker than us, we learn respect for the winners and the losers,

Our family loves Family Karate Center!!!! We have been training for over 3 years. Our daughter started at age 4, our timid son has developed confidence, and I am able to train with my kids, and am now working toward my Black belt. The entire experience has been nothing but positive. The Sensei truly cares about those she trains, sets high standards and puts in the time to help us achieve our goals. The Dojo is a fantastic facility, and the self-defense in invaluable.

We have six kids training at the Family Karate Center. They all love it and are learning so much, not only about Martial Arts, but also about confidence and character. If we ever have to miss a class they beg me to go to a make up class. I am hoping to start training with my kids once my youngest is old enough to start karate.

Family Karate Center is a great place to train whether you want to go twice a week as a hobby or if you're ambitions include competition and beyond. The instructors are very helpful and encouraging. They give you the skills you need while putting heavy emphasis on character development and the social skills needed to be successful in every day life. The program is very personalized because they understand really well that everybody has different reasons as to why they start martial arts. Some want to lose weight, some want to be the next big thing, some want an activity they can do with their whole

The Family Karate Center's name says it all. This karate school is completely focused on building strong families- from preschoolers to adults. Not only does Sensei Elida (the owner and manager) teach the technical aspects of karate, she also instructs her students with important character qualities, such as compassion, respect for others, and perseverance. She has been teaching karate for 20 years in Eugene and her students have won international awards in competition. If you are looking for a martial arts school that places a high value on personal character, as well as excellence in technique
