Services
This program runs September - June each year. This program runs from 8 AM - 1 PM Monday - Friday. Students do not need to be toilet trained to participate, families do not need to be working to participate in this program. For working families needing extended care, these hours are available through ERDC (currently at a $0 copay) at our program with your child's teacher at the same school.
Play Based, Kindergarten prep, including math, music, science, art, imaginary jungle tours, fire fighter visits and good friends. These all happen in the daily preschool programming for children 3 months - 5 years. Still with all that, students are so excited for their daily adventures at school they celebrate when their friends arrive.
Your child's early experience in child care will shape who they become as a young child. With the love and attention we've given out over the last 21 years at Crawmer's, we've seen our students accomplish amazing things! Like the preschoolers, the infants are encouraged to reach their next milestone.
Here at Bend Preschool, we believe in nutrition! Meals that are made from whole foods, not pre-made, or frozen, provide our students with extra nutrition that students with packed meals just miss out on. We pride ourselves on cooking tasty meals from scratch that our kids just love. Balanced meals are very important to Bend Preschool.
Being a mother of five children, I can understand the frustration of searching for infant or preschool programming for your child. When my oldest was one year old, I under went the same process and share in your bitter experiences. With two children with severe food allergies, I can understand the frustration of parents trying.

I worked briefly for Ruth at another preschool. While I do believe the childcare was excellent (thanks to the caring and qualified professionals that worked there) the management was horrific. The worst I have ever worked under. If you choose this preschool, your children will be well cared for, but you will be supporting a business and management that rules with threat and fear of job loss and does not support the staff's families.

Our little man is 20 months old and loves going to Bend Preschool. He goes to the Pilot Butte location and runs in to seeing Russ, his teachers, and friends everyday. The place is awesome with a nice inside and fun outdoor area. There’s also an tunnel access to the playground across the street. As a parent, I also love the pictures and updates I get. It’s a great place and Russ and Ruth provide a very caring, safe, and fun environment.

I worked at Bend Preschool for almost a year. The love Ruth and Russ show the children is unbounded. Having worked at other childcare facilities in the past, Bend Preschool is more like a family then work. Ruth and Russ invite you into their home, teaching and helping you nurture these amazing, goofy kids. I have never met a more patient, caring childcare duo. Leaving Bend was incredibly sad, and I miss all of the kids extremely but I know they are in good hands!

We had such a great experience with Bend Preschool. We are from Colorado and did a "drop in" for our 23 month old son Samuel earlier this month. Russ and Ruth were organized and very professional. They were so sweet to give us email updates with photos. We would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone looking. Thank you again for the great care to our son.

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Russ and Ruth Crawmer, we also loved all the teachers that worked there as well! My daughter started when she was just 3 in their preschool room and attended school there for almost three years. They walked through food allergies with us and we're more then accommodating to make sure she had healthy and delicious meals. Their children are wonderful, kind, well mannered and sweet children- I think a lot has to dos with their parents! I would be happy to vouch that my daughters experience with Crawmera was great!

Russ and Ruth took care of my 2 kids from the ages of 4 months until they went to kindergarten. They are loving, caring, attentive, responsive and fun people. They always had age appropriate games, books, music, crafts and other fantastic activities that helped my kids develop. I would highly recommend them to any parent wanting a safe and nurturing environment for their child.

Our daughter attended preschool with the Crawmer family for 3 years, then returned over summers & school holidays for another few years. It was a wonderful and invaluable experience! Attending preschool with the Crawmers gave her a fantastic start on positive social skills. (She still automatically views new classmates, etc. as "new friends"!) They maintained an excellent balance between learning, creativity and activities. Her preschool experience truly fostered her love of learning - to have that supported from such an early age is a gift that will last her lifetime!

My 2 boys have been going to Crawmer's for almost 3 years now and I have not had one negative experience. My boys LOVE their teachers and the Llamas program is perfect for my 6 year old who now goes to first grade but goes to Crawmer's in the mornings and afternoons. They have special field trips and he is always learning new things and seeing new places. My 4 year old will be ready for kindergarten next year because of the time and teaching the staff puts into the children. I would never give this school anything less than 5 stars. I had a great experience with the Crawmers when they watched my daughter when she was little. I loved the fact that she was minded in a home environment yet which had lots of structure for the kids so they always knew when nap time was coming along with meals and free play. Added to that, TV was never on as that was important to me. The meals were cooked each day so I knew my daughter was eating wholesome nutritious food. While the home always had a welcoming atmosphere, it was kept really clean and Ruth and Russ and their staff went above and beyond to keep it this way.

The teachers at Crawmer's are highly trained, extremely caring and tons of fun! :) My daughter has been there for 4 years and we're so happy with the fun and engaging ways that they learn and play. She even writes songs, poems and draws photos for her teachers over the weekend! It's been so great being a part of the Crawmer's Community. We're going to miss everyone when our daughter begins kindergarten this fall.
