Snipe Island Crafthouse

Nice food, fair prices and a really friendly staff on Balboa Island. We've returned a couple of times for lunch and dinner and have never been disappointed.

Popped in for the first time tonight. Cool rustic design. Cozy feel to the place. Solid pub food, generous portions. Mostly though, I was impressed by one of the friendliest servers I've ever come across. Candice was buzzing around taking care of the entire restaurant by herself with charm and grace!! Nice experience.

This was a really cool place. We just stopped in for a glass of wine and it was lovely to sit with my sister, sip some tasty red wine and people watch out their wide open windows.

Good food w quality ingredients (pizzas, sandwiches), fast, friendly service and an eclectic tap selection. Blonde wood and people watching thru open windows on Balboa Island's main drag adds to the casual charm.

The food wasn't good. The ambience is super charming, staff nice, love the location and the whole vibe. Everything feels quaint and local and high end...until the food arrived. The hummus was dry and crusty, like it had been sitting on a plate in the fridge. The veggies with it were cold and dry and limp, also like they'd been sitting pre-cut in a fridge for days. The burgers came out looking high end, but were dry. Meat, dry. Bun, dry. Not just mine either, both of them. The fries weren't hot when they came out. They were kinda warm, suggesting they hadn't just been

This is a nice little gem on Balboa Island. We stopped by there and ordered wine and apps. The food was fantastic. I recommend the ahi. The service was great. Loved the cozy atmosphere.

Great place to have a craft beer. The burglar was good but you could tell they cooked it on the same Grill as the fish

Great service, fun island vibe. Met a friend for drinks & a bite to eat - delish. I recommend this place. Walk over if local or park a few streets away. 🙂🥂

We enjoyed eating here, hungry after walking around and quite frankly after hours of driving and trying to find parking and figure out the ferry situation (TMI)

The service was kind and quick. We had a Pilsner, calamari, and the Ahi tuna. Both tasted very fresh and the calamari came with mini octopus as well. Calamari ($12) was not too thick and fried well. Ahi tuna with no fishy taste or smell and wonderful ($13). These were both on the "to share" appetizer portion of menu and although we were hungry we could barely finish the above.

Came in for a drink and appetizer. My husband has a severe gluten allergy and she was very upfront about how their oil had just been used for calamari. We ordered the ahi, no chips because of the gluten/calamari oil issue. It was great and so was the champs & kombucha

Personal service, great food, super happy hour! Sawyer was our server and he was entertaining and super attentive!

When on a date that was supposed to be tea and a walk around the island, we decided we did want to actually eat. We chose Snipe Island due to Yelp stating "TAPAS"; unfortunately (at least during Covid times) this is not the case for this location. Which was a tad disappointing. It's a small location and on this particular Saturday night, they only had one server that I could see.

I ordered a salad with salmon and a glass of red wine. It was fresh and very tasty! I'd definitely like to come back to check out if they have a more expansive menu in the future when life gets "

Cozy place for a bite on Balboa Island. Diana, who my wife think looks like Catherine Zeta Jones, our server who has been there since the place opened was great. We had the Taco Trio (Carne Asada, Carnitas & Fish), the meatball sliders with fries and a Firestone Walker 805 Blonde Ale draft. All very tasty.

We lucked out and got a window seat facing the street to people watch while dining. Fortunately no one sat across from us on the sidewalk side of the table as the table fits four people.

The only complaint is that the posted menu show the lunch menu served Tue-Sun, but after seated

Shout to our host and server, Travis. He welcomed us into this very nice restaurant. My wife and wanted to ear and enjoy a delicious burger. While there are many places to choose, I wanted to try Snipe Island Carfthouse. So I looked it up and Yelp and when I saw the Avocado Bacon Burger, I knew I had to try it out. Once we arrived I placed my order with Travis, my wife ordered the Snipe Burger and I'll tell you what, these burgers were delicious. You can tell that the bread, meat and ingredients were fresh. I have found my new burger joint in Balboa, it's the Snipe Island Crafthouse.

While walking around the island looking at Christmas lights, we stopped here for a drink. There was not spirits, so we had beer and wine, and sat outside, and found this place just charming! My friend had the beef sliders, which come with 2 thick burgers and fries, delicious, and I had the skillet chocolate chip cookie palooza with vanilla ice cream, it was delicious!!! Our server was just adorable, and so sweet, we felt like she was a friend by the time we left. Definitely will go back for their happy hour, they have very reasonable prices, and a great selction!

This is one of the best spots on the Island. If you want something casual with awesome food at an affordable price, it’s definitely the place to go!
I like that their menu (both food and drinks) is very simple. The chicken sandwich is hands down my favorite. It’s not often that a chicken sandwich tastes better than a good burger!

Since my initial review in February 2020, we've managed to return twice and it seems that this place is growing on us. Our second visit was on par with our first but the burger was new for us to try and it was pretty decent though nothing amazing. Today however, we went for another walk around the island and landed at Snipe for a couple beers, calamari, and pizza.

Calamari we ordered last time as well and it was different both times. Last time it was nice and light. This time was waaaay too salty. Taste was fine though and it came on a very generous bed of dark greens which were enough to

Love love this place. The food is DELICIOUS n the waitress is amazing! We went for a short date night there. Outdoor dining only, when we arrived it was all full and the waitress brought a table from the restaurant and set it up outside. Thanks kenzie. We ordered the bacon avocado burger n yummmm. If you go later in the day, make sure you bring a sweater , it does get chilly.

Just moved to the island and this is my favorite casual spot. The staff is so accommodating, hard working, and pleasant to be around. Food is amazing. Best burger I have had in awhile, and the prosciutto pizza is simply decadent! They have a concise but diverse selection of beer on tap! Recommend this place for everyone!

Fresh, DELICIOUS, quality ingredients ... decided to take a drive on Quarantine Covid19 day 50 ... hubby and I came across Snipe by chance ... they were open and selling take out .. got our food and ate in the car with a view of the harbor. .. Date night on quarantine was perfect .. because the food was ahmazing. The few people there were honoring 6feet distance and restaurant was cleaning after every take out customer as well as entire crew wearing masks. We will definitely be back quarantine or not
