Balance Chicago
Balance Chicago was founded in 2006 by Dr. Michele Kehrer, PT, DPT. Dr. Kehrer started Balance Chicago to help those that typically are not helped by other medical professionals. She wanted to change the way physical therapy was offered to be more patient focused rather than impairment focused. It is important that each patient is treated as a whole person not a body part.

Getting the root cause is imperative to each person's care. She likes to say that we practice the art of medicine here at Balance Chicago. Michele is an innovator in the field of vestibular rehabilitation whose work has been featured in such publications as Martha Stewart Living and Oprah Magazine.

A mastectomy is a surgery that involves removing breast tissue in one or both breasts to prevent or stop the spread of cancer. Depending on your cancer stage, your doctor might remove some lymph nodes and possibly some muscles beneath the breast tissue for testing. Then, your doctor will place expanders or perform a one-step procedure in which they will place the implant simultaneously.
The Visflex is a unique and crucial treatment tool to fix your dizziness. This is accomplished by fixing your gaze on a target while performing various head movements simultaneously. This will improve your ability to focus and concentrate on daily tasks. As you improve, we will increase the difficulty to improve your balance.

I found Balance Chicago in March after experiencing a few month of dizziness. I worked with Kylie, who was amazing, and am happy to report that after our once a week sessions my dizziness problems have all but disappeared. I have nothing but good things to say about Balance Chicago--they were organized, professional, helpful, and were able to help me regularly over Zoom since I don't live in Chicago. Thank you!

If you want your reviews deleted by the coordinator because she doesn't like your opinions, don't go to Yelp. In fact, they choose Google for easier access to control what you put. The owner doesn't care about her employees. Literally told me she has my back and was here for me, turned around emailed me saying I was terminated knowing I have been extremely ill. The two put on the fake smiles to keep business. Trust, I was even told to throw away potential referrals for patients when their tones weren't at an appropriate level for them, saying they don't need them there.

What a wonderful team.I suffered from movement-and exercise-induced vertigo, dizziness and nausea for months before going to Balance Chicago. Their PTs diagnosed my issues and competently treated them in their facility and provided exercises for home. Their support staff are terrific. Don’t wait for your symptoms to stop on their own. They often don’t. Let Balance Chicago’s terrific crew work their magic!

I honestly cannot say how lifesaving Balance Chicago has been during a simultaneous episode of vestibular migraine and bi-lateral BPPV. Kylie is extraordinarily knowledgeable and incredibly skillful. In just a week I am improving and have learned so much about what’s going on, why, and how to treat it, all of which has been reassuring as I continue down the road of recovery.

I cannot say enough good about my experience with Balance Chicago!!! I worked mainly with Maria (though everyone I worked with was great- shout out to Kylie as well!!) and she was AWESOME. I had been struggling with intermittent vertigo and dizziness for years. I just came to accept that my allergies would never let me lead a dizzy free life outside of the winter months. Maria was so thorough and patient with me (the dizziness had made me incredibly anxious to try a lot of things) and built a program for me that fit my crazy schedule and my goals. I didn’t think I’d achieve a dizzy free life

I had vertigo earlier this winter of 2021. I went to an ENT thinking I had an ear infection or an allergy but didn’t fully understand what was causing my vertigo? My doctor told me to go to physical therapy to get cured. I am so glad I searched for a physical therapy establishment that specialized in vestibular nerve disorders. The therapists took time to correctly diagnose me and explain exactly what was happening. The exercises were not only fun but really helped correct my imbalance. The home exercises really enhance your recovery. I’m so great full for the therapists knowledge and experience

I couldn't recommend the Balance team enough! I was able to work with different members of the team and they were all great. We were making great progress on my scapular pain; when my insurance suddenly stopped covering my visit, they were very helpful in resolving the issue! I'm not sure what the poor reviews on billing are about because they didn't invent the American healthcare system, but they did the best they can working within it. Overall, would definitely recommend the whole team for their friendliness, helpfulness, and the efficacy of their treatment plans!

I'm so happy I found Balance Chicago. I'd been suffering with back pain for a few weeks and had seen a chiropractor whose treatment was not doing anything who then told me I needed to wear a back brace. Something told me that this didn't feel right for me so I went to Balance on recommendation of my trainer. From the intake process right through to my "graduation/discharge" it was a great experience. Kylie was patient and skilled and thanks to her expert care, I'm now walking around with no pain. You can tell that the team really cares about their patients. For example, I couldn't make my sessions

Balance Chicago was a great choice for me to work on my issues of vertigo and balance. My therapist Josh was terrific! I appreciated his professionalism and knowledge. He patiently answered questions and I learned a lot. He took my blood pressure and discovered it was high so he recommended that I see my doctor. He expressed serious concern about it. I realized maybe I do need to see a doctor, so I was lucky I saw a heart specialist the very same day. I came to find I did have a problem and because of Josh it's now being handled. I can sincerely say thank you Josh, I think you saved my life

This whole operation seems to be very focused on making money. They did tests that in my opinion did not provide any more value over and over again, and kept asking when I could come in next even though my symptoms were gone. It feels sketchy and more about squeezing as much money as you can out of you than actually just solving the problem.

Balance has great staff but management is horrible. Billed exorbitant amounts for minor services (stretching exercise) cost 600 per hour. No wonder we pay so much for health insurance when places like this gouge pricing and then leave patients to pay what is not picked up. AVOID.

I recently visited Balance Chicago for diagnosis and treatment of vestibular neuritis after over a year of chronic dizziness and I had such a positive experience. I now find myself in the odd position of wanting to brag about finally being able to do simple things like go to the grocery store or taking a casual walk through my neighborhood without distress. My physical therapy has made such a big difference in helping me engage in my normal daily activities again. I primarily worked with Monica and Clayton during the six weeks of my physical therapy. They did such a good job of explaining what

I'm such a fan of my PT's! I have come to them in two different occasions for two different injuries and they helped me through both times. First, they got me through my first marathon, helping me with just general issues that cropped up. I'm no runner, and my body was very confused. They listened to me complain about my aches and pains and I left always few better than when I came in. A year later they helped me through a knee injury, letting me cry tears of frustration and supporting me when my orthopedist didn't listen. When I got a second opinion and had surgery, it ended

Balance chicago is run like a factory where my PT ( while only sitting in middle of room on his laptop the whole time on each apptmt and gave assignments to the assistants and the assistants basically shuttled me around to each area while I had hardly any time with the main PT. I have been to a lot of PTs over the year as I'm 50 and I know when something is wrong and I have never seen anything more negligent . There was almost no hands on therapy . *The worst part of it all was I told them and showed them my neck MRIs which showed serious neck injuries that by all vestibular standards ( I

I suffered from debilitating migraines for 5 years... then made an appointment at Balance Chicago. My friend Michele Kehrer is the founder. She literally drew on a napkin a diagram of what happens to the blood vessels when you get a migraine... and how it can lead to a brain aneurysm if not treated. That was all the motivation I needed to make an appointment... lol They identified the source of my migraine and I hardly get them anymore, when I do they are very mild. I can't thank them enough!

Really amazing and caring staff. From the moment you enter the door you are treated as a whole person and not just a case of symptoms. Each and everyone here truly listens to you and works to get you back to where you were, and even better. Being a very physically active person, and having injured myself in a pretty severe manner - I tore a nerve in my arm, I am so glad I found this physical therapy center. Not only did they give me personal and individual cutting edge treatment but they took the time to listen which really helped me to get thru the pain and emotional distress.

Yelp, periodically you are ridiculous. I see this business has only 4 reviews visible to the public, why? Why do you filter ALL the positive reviews? Did you not learn anything from the numerous class action lawsuits against Yelp where you were allegedly only posting negative reviews and then charging businesses extra fees to have their rankings improved? Why?

This is an INCREDIBLE business. I have spent 20 years in the medical field and this business' intake, treatment area, skill level and dedication are all to be recognized and praised.

I give Yelp one star.
