Aikido of Santa Cruz is a non-profit, public benefit, educational organization, serving the community since 1982. We welcome sincere students of any race, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or ethnic background. Our Chief Instructor is Linda Holiday Sensei, 7th degree black belt and author of Journey to the Heart of Aikido.
The founder of Aikido, Morihei Ueshiba O-Sensei (1883-1969) envisioned Aikido as a multifaceted training of body, mind, and spirit in the principles of harmony, natural movement, and "the spirit of love and protection for all." As Aikido emphasizes inner strength rather than physical strength, it is accessible to all ages and body types.

I went last night to Aikido Santa' Cruz's introductory class. It's a good deal at 70 bucks, or you can pay 150 for two months and your uniform. I was kind of nervous, as I've tried karate and really didn't like it. Aikido is totally different!
When I showed up to the dojo, the parking lot was packed! I backtracked a little up Mission and parked by the public park where parking was plentiful.
Everyone at the studio was very welcoming and helpful. They even have little flyers that you can take home about Aikido etiquette. (This same info is available on their website
