Services
At Therapeutic Associates Physical Therapy, our passion is helping every patient we treat heal quickly and safely, and to empower them with the knowledge, understanding and inspiration they need to stay active and healthy. We feature innovative rehabilitation services including evidence-based manual therapy, functional exercise and a comprehensive, individualized approach to care.
The APTA Self Employment Section (now called the Private Practice Section or "PPS") is formed. Robert Dicus is instrumental in its development and serves as its first Chairman. Flanders Physical Therapy (now known as Therapeutic Associates Northwest Portland Physical Therapy) opens as our first private practice in Oregon.
At each of our locally owned clinics, our therapists are dedicated to ensuring every patient's treatment plan is custom designed around their unique needs and individual goals. We offer a comprehensive range of core physical therapy services to help each of our patients pursue active, healthy and pain-free lives.
In addition to serving our patients, we care deeply about serving our local communities. Service embodies who we are, what we do, and how we act. The hours committed and the impact made by our teammates is truly immeasurable. We are proud and grateful for all of the volunteers helping to make our communities better every day and aspire to encourage company-wide participation in giving through things such as paid time off for community service.
Therapeutic Associates' therapists actively pursue continuing education in organizations such as the North American Institute of Orthopaedic Manual Therapy to remain skilled and knowledgeable in the latest research and treatment techniques. Our people are educators to our peers and patients, authors of publications and articles for periodicals, leaders in local and national organizations, and presenters to professional and public audiences.

It took me a few visits to get used to what to expect regarding the format of my therapy but it was clear from the very first session that Sarah has a natural talent with PT and I feel like she is continuously exploring the right exercises and stretches to help with my frustrating and complex knee injury. She is very knowledgeable and listens. I am making improvements week by week and I'm very grateful. The PT assistant, Eli, is very good too. It gets a bit busy and space is limited but they have all the necessary tools, machines, and aids to give a comprehensive service. I even bought a few products

Excellent therapists. Very knowledgeable. Great explanations of what is wrong and what can be done to help the problem. However it is very difficult to get an appointment for ongoing therapy.

I am in my second experience with Therapeutic Associates. The first was two years ago after a fractured femur/knee. Now, I am back, needing to strengthen my leg and back muscles and to improve my balance and over all stamina.
I find the therapists to be professional and consistent. They give clear instructions with hands on attention if it is needed. The atmosphere at the clinic allows for privacy while also providing access to exercise and equipment in an open area. The client's exercises are available on the clinic's website with explanations and illustrations.
I recommend Therapeutic Associates

My therapist appreciates that my need to be able to maintain my balance while walking down the street, crossing curbs, standing and sitting in public areas is a necessary and vital component of my life. She is starting me with exercises I can do safely and makes sure she throws in some challenges so that I continue to improve. She is knowledgeable, personable and fun to be with. I would recommend her to anyone needing assistance with regaining balance.

The staff are very welcoming, and I've been receiving great care for Physical Therapy. Danielle takes their time to evaluate me before each appointment, to provide me with the best course of treatment for fixing my injury. I've seen great progress in my self after just one week of at-home exercises.

The folks at Therapeutic Associates are wonderful! I was able to schedule appointments easily and the care I received from the physical therapist, Matt, was great. He is thoughtful, thorough and truly listened to my concerns and clearly explained what needed to be done and what the end goal for my treatment would be. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
