Christiana Dental Center has been offering quality dental care in the greater Newark, DE area for over 32 years. Your dental team is headed by Dr. William J. Recktenwald, a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, Class of 1981. Dr. Recktenwald has three years of Naval experience and taught at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine.
Dr. Recktenwald is a member of the Delaware State Dental Association, The American Dental Association, and the academy of General Dentistry where he received his fellowship award in 1987.He is also a member of the Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and Dentist for Oral Conscious Sedation. Dr. Recktenwald has had a successful dental practice in Delaware County, PA since 1985, and in Delaware since 2002.

Complete dentures are used when many or all of the teeth are missing, while partial dentures are used when some natural teeth still remain.

I must thank staff for their superb work indeed. My gratitude and bouquet to Ms. Ramona for explaining eloquently ( last week) how the insurance worked ( my secondary). She helped her staff for long time with patience ( related to forthcoming root canal and crown expenses). I must add Ms. Dona , always there to make sure things move smoothly. A well-oiled machine. Dr. Rothbart, Mel, Shelly and all the staff are extremely professional and proficient at what they do. It’s your one stop shop for anything dental you may need. Highly recommend. They’re the best. You won’t be disappointed. Been going there for years, and the current visit is always better than the last. PS. I am not a payed actor, I’m an actual client lol

I have been to multiple dentist over the past several years with continuous pain in my teeth. No one seemed to listen to me about where I was feeling it.
Dr. Recktenwald is the only dentist that I have seen who actually listened to me and literally showed me what was really going on while using his state of the art diagnostic equipment.
He knows what he is doing! He also has a great staff as well!!
They have all gained my trust!
Only two visits and everything thing is done.
I am 100% pain free!!

I was having a terrible tooth ache, my usual dentist wouldn’t see me for two weeks. I found this office online, gave them a call and the next day i was able to be seen. Not only was i able to be seen, but i also needed a root canal, and i was able to come back later on that day to get the procedure done! Although, the office and rooms were pretty small and could probably use a bit more cleaning, the overall experience was great. From the scheduler, the assistants and the dentist they were so nice and friendly, i might make this office my permanent place to go!

Such a disappointment! Overall the staff is friendly, but I had surgery done and was under the impression that they had squared away my insurance beforehand. To later receive a letter 4 months later stating I owed over $900!!! When that's not what I agreed to pay upon completion of my first surgery. And when I called I was told to call my insurance and figure it out! What kind of customer service is that! This should have been done before I had surgery! It's a pandemic money is tight! Now I'm stuck with a bill and searching for another dentist to get the rest done! Please make sure before you do

I had to have a tooth pulled today while 14 weeks pregnant. I was nervous to say the least. Everyone in this office made me feel right at ease! The Dr was awesome! He had my tooth out faster than I could blink. Thank you to this office! I highly recommend them to anyone trying to find a good dentist!

The "hygienists" are sweet. We were patients there for 15+yrs. Pre-Covid-19 I had a billing complaint that kept getting dropped ending in I unhappily paid it. Sons had cleanings once more in 01/20 then they dropped off, no word since. Sure I could've made follow-up visits OR they could've called too... Time to move on. That proved to be right when… I called them to ask for sons' pano x-rays to forward to a new dentist. I mentioned our long relationship, my complaint, them not keeping contact... No, I'm sorry you chose to leave. How can we keep you? I'm sorry we wouldn't work with you on

No one likes going to the dentist, myself included. But it is a part of life so I accept it and make my twice yearly appointment. It has always been a pleasure going to Christiana dental Center. The people are very knowledgeable and do their job with an efficiency not often seen in any medical practice. Although I can’t say that going to the dentist is fun these folks make it as close to fun as humanly possible. A very competent and friendly staff make this one of the premier dental practices I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with.
