The location is hard to beat and the room was very clean. Had a pleasant stay overall.
However, I don't really get why this is a 3-star hotel - our room didn't have neirher a dryer, nor an iron, nor a fridge, nor a microwave, which is what I could find even in motel rooms.
I rarely watch TV in hotels, but the system here by far was the weirdest. The screen casting kept breaking down, the apps were outdated (with no updates available) and didn't launch. The strangest of all was the remote control - pointing with your remote to the screen as if the remote was a computer mouse? Whoever the genius

They didn’t give us the room I booked through Booking.com. Instead they gave a room at the Club Quarters hotel, which is in the same building, uses the same door, elevator etc. I wasn’t asked about the change but also didn’t see it as a bad thing. The only downside to it is I had booked a room with a queen or king sized bed (I don’t remember exactly) and they gave us one with a normal size bed.
The stay was very pleasant anyway so I would still recommend it and thanks to the perfect location I’ll definitely stay here again whenever in Chicago.

Went to chicago last week with my fiance, staffs are very welcoming and friendly. Upon checking out i accidentally throw my engagement ring in the garbage because it was wrapped in tissue and completely forgot about it until we were already in the airport and i realized i dont have my ring. I called the front desk and they were very helpful and took actions right away, thankfully the room wasnt cleaned yet, and very thankful to the housekeeping who took her time to look for my ring in the trash. They are even willing to go out of their way to give my my ring back before my flight. Very thankful

Loved the location of this hotel! It was super convenient, almost everything touristy was within walking distance. As well as shopping centers, and restaurants. The hotel itself was very appealing, and the front desk people were amazing! Especially Pedro! He went above and beyond for us. The only downside of the hotel were the maintenance staff, they were quite rude when they brought things up for us. The beds could be better but they did the job. The views were amazing, I did not mind the smaller size of the room. The T.V was up close and we enjoyed it while we were in our room at night. I would

The location was excellent. Riverwalk is right across the street, plenty of great restaurants and bars nearby. Great views of the Chicago river. Highly recommend this hotel. Only problem was that there were just two elevators for 38 floors, and sometimes the waits were too long. Also, the windows needed cleaning outside.

Friendly & helpful staff, nice views of the river, and perfect location!
My husband and I enjoyed our one night stay. The room was in the smaller side & clean. We loved that they had a complimentary water bottle station right outside our room.
We got a room on the 23rd floor overlooking the river. We were also about a 5-10 min drive to the 360 Observation deck (John Hancock Building), Skydeck (Sears Tower), and the strip of shops.
Wouldn't mind staying here again in the future!

This is my hotel of choice when I visit Chicago again. Excellent service from check in to check out. Excellent view, excellent location (23 minutes from the Oak Street beach and the Navy pier and 5 minutes from Boardwalk) and excellent communication from the front desk. We were able to check in super early and check out way later which really help. The staff were friendly and very accommodating. My only complaint was the hallways were a little humid but other than that, staying there made our trip much more enjoyable. I suggest you check them out if you plan to visit Chicago.

The staff had great customer service. The room was a great surprise because of the two bedroom, two bathroom with a living room, kitchen and eating area. The rate was great for all of the amenities.. The only issue is that the carpet and living room furniture was old and stained and needed to be changed out.

Great hotel, good price, and awesome location!
unfortunately (it may be due to covid, but it was still very inconvenient and we were not made aware of the issue before our stay) the parking garage was closed and we were required to park in a garage that was about a 5-7 min walk by foot and it was $25 daily to park at this location.
the room was very nice and had a great view of the water, but the accommodations seemed very outdated and the bathroom set up was quite small.
overall, great stay!

River Hotel is great, I've stayed prior to Covid and post Covid. They are aways so gracious & helpful. However I stayed this past weekend and was a bit bothered. I requested a room with a view, which they accomodated, however when I entered the room there was an unpleasant smell that greeted me at the door. I began to check the room making sure everything was clean & worked perfectly. There were clothes from the previous guest in the closet. The

On the river and what a view!! Checked into this hotel and stayed here for 4 nights and 5 days. We arrived to the hotel a hour before check-in and being that we were early the front desk man referred us over to the Emerald Loop for a bite to eat and even gave us a coupon for a free appetizer! Once we were done eating we were able to check-in and go up to our room. The room was clean and modern but was smaller than expected. The photos online make the room look larger than what it really is. The room had a queen size bed but the bed was 2 full size beds put together to make a queen size bed which

The hotel is very conveniently placed downtown and very comfortable. The staff was more than willing to help and make suggestions! They even had a wine tasting one night we were there. The view from our room was beautiful and our room was clean. The tv didn't work right unfortunately. We will definitely come back here again!

Check in staff was excellent and readily gave us recommendations for restaurants and activities near by. Hotel was very nice and we had an amazing view of the city. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to stay in the heart of the city. Our TV didn't work a majority of the trip.. and at one point the tv remote was mistakenly taken up by the hotel staff when servicing our room. Phone in room did not work the whole time either. Woman who checked us out was rude. She explained that the TV issue was ongoing but no one informed us of the issue upon check in. We asked if we could sit in the lobby

Location is the only reason to stay here. It's right on the river across from Trump hotel and a walk from the riverfront stuff and architecture tours etc. The hotel itself is modest but check in was easy and everything functional. We had to stay within a work budget so this was a good bargain.
Upsides --location , refillable water bottles on each floor. Happy hour with wine at 5pm weekdays {didn't go to it but it's an option} Room has small kitchen area with fridge and stove etc in case you need those things.
Downsides - we paid for a queen and got two twins pushed together

We need half scores!! This hotel is. 3.5 for me. I arrived early for my check in, so to avoid early check in fees, I waited on the second floor in the work area. Once I checked in, I came up to my room which is tiny!! It's perfect if you're in town for work, but would not come if I was visiting/ relaxing.
There's not much going on in the room. As soon as you walk in, the bathroom is to your right and then boom, your bed and desk is there. The closer is also super tiny. There's not much moving happening in the room. The shower space is tiny too.

My husband and I are so excited to honeymoon at River Hotel. The impetus of our stay started off wonderfully. The front desk rep Sierra was really fast, personable and informative.
We soon found out about Free Wine and Cheese at 5 pm and also the 2nd floor full of snacks and refreshments.
Our room is located on the 6th floor. Upon checking out the view, I noticed the first issue... Cracked paint across the ceiling. I wouldn't expect something like this in a 4 star hotel... maybe a 3 star like Holiday Inn.
Also, whomever installed the coat hanger obviously did not use a ruler! (check out

This hotel was great. I didn't look at the reviews on yelp until now so i'm shocked with all of the negative reviews.
Booking and checking in was a breeze. The gentleman in the front was very accommodating with my early check-in (i think his name was Juan)
They offer complementary wine at 5pm daily which was a nice touch.
the rooms aren't huge but they have everything you need and enough room to be comfortable. its about the size of any standard room when you travel to Europe.
for the location of this hotel i'm surprised it wasn't way more expensive. everything is a short

This will teach me to read reviews before booking based on photos and hotel saying what it is. To start the Valet is 53$ a night! and they do not help with the bags just take the car and leave your stuff on the curb.
We checked in the front desk was nice enough but explained noting as in where food or waters were just heres your key elevator is over there bye. Once to the elevator we waited 15 min! This was normal anytime we needed to use the elevator it took 10-15 min to get it. Once to the tiny room we unpacked and turned down the AC since it was hot , the AC in that room did not work

I found this hotel through Expedia when booking a trip to take my mom for her first visit. It was an affordable option and a great location.
When I first booked, the room descriptions weren't really that detailed so I was concerned with the size of the room - I'd seen a lot of people's photos of smaller rooms, which would be a bit uncomfortable after a few days. We lucked out, though, and got a room not only with the queen bed, but also a pull out couch! yay!
The room was clean, not new and perfect, but definitely clean. The first day we were out and about, I left the privacy tag

Overall the hotel was clean for the most part and had great service. We got the room at a bargain and stayed for a couple days. I did have an incident where I woke up with 2 bites on my legs. While we were in our new room they heated our clothing too get rid of any bugs if there were any.

We stayed here for 3 nights in October 2017. The location is phenomenal. We walked everywhere we needed to go and did not take a taxi or use the metro even once. We overlooked the river which was nice. Faced the Trump hotel across the river. Not so nice. We had some maintenance problems in our room that were attended to immediately. Good service. Free wi-fi that is pretty fast.
The downsides:
-street noise is pretty loud even at night. Takes some getting used to.
-rooms are small, but not intolerable
-elevators are small and slow (only two if you are above floor 11)
-for some reason, staff, especially
