Stay away if you have waves or curls... thinning is still a thing here and it's been a hair recovery period since my first and only visit. Atmosphere is chic and gals are nice enough but never again for this mama. And paying for parking is a boo when making a salon trip.

Hair color and trim by Erin was the best I've encountered. Gray coverage and color was was spot on and very natural looking. The entire staff is warm, friendly, and professional.

Anna is absolutely amazing! I went in feeling really defeated and unhappy with the color of my hair but Anna worked her magic. It turned out a thousand times better than I could have hoped! Its been a long time since I've had a stylist like this--I generally described why I was unhappy and what I was looking for and she didn't just listen, she offered her thoughts and vision as well. Its obvious that hair is a well mastered craft for her, not just something she does. She is also wonderful to talk to and the salon is very comfortable! Can't recommend The Parlor enough.

The Parlor is 100% a 5 star business. I have natural wave in my hair and Erin was able to give me a cut that complements that and allows for more versatility than what I had previously. Erin also did my color and it turned out super amazing. I often feel uncomfortable in most salons because I worry my style sense won't be understood; but everyone who works at The Parlor was warm and inviting and made me feel very comfortable. Erin understood my vision and gave me a cut and color so much better than I had even imagined. I was able to get in for an appointment last minute which is totally a miracle

Erin is truly an amazing hair stylist! I recently had terrible hair experiences and needed a color correction and honest advice on moving forward with damaged hair. Erin was honest, ever so friendly and did magic on my hair. I can't thank her enough!! I've been to many salons in Tacoma and I've never left feeling like my hair was 100% better than when I walked in. My experience at the Parlor was divine. Can't wait to return!

This place is great! Stevie did wonders on my hair, it feels like she brought it back to life. Between the colors, product she knowledgeably talked to me about, and my cut, I will be back! The atmosphere was delightful and everyone was very nice. My hair feels amazing and so do I. Thank you so much.

I went today for the first time for all over highlights and a haircut. My hair is now multiple shades of blonde and orange. The haircut is beyond mediocre. I would only recommend this possibly for high school kids. No woman who wants anything above mediocre should go here. It was a waste of time and money for me and I can't wait to get this mess fixed by someone else.

I was hoping to be thrilled based on other reviews here and elsewhere as well as from a friend but unfortunately I'm a bit more underwhelmed than expected. 3 stars are due to the fact that the salon is very posh and clean and its a super cute and friendly environment... I found a new favorite tea and my favorite Bota Box was sitting on a shelf (note- book PM appointments!). If you have "regular hair", you probably can't go wrong...

But for me, only 3 stars because before I knew it my pretty thick, curly hair had been "thinned out". I have not had this done to

I have always had great experiences at The Parlor. I have been here for everything from foils to wedding hair styling. The staff is knowledgeable and kind and well organized. KayLyn is the best stylist in Tacoma and always gets my hair color just right even when I don’t know exactly what I want. I appreciate the individual care and the personal touches the staff puts on the salon. I highly recommend The Parlor! I drive down from North Seattle every 6 weeks just to see them!

I love the Parlor! I became a client several years ago after envying a friend's consistently perfect-for-her hairstyles and asking her where she went (answer: Anna at the Parlor). I've never received compliments on my hair until I started getting it done at the Parlor.

Shay is my regular stylist and she is extremely well-skilled and thoughtful about how to find the right cut and color for an individual. She's also really nice and a great conversationalist. I've also been to Kay, and she is also great. In fact, everyone there is super nice and funny and knows hair.

12/28/16 update: I called the salon owner the next day the salon was open to share my feedback. She was really nice and responsive, plus got me in with someone experience who could fix my hair within a week AND accommodated my insane schedule (live in Tacoma, work in downtown Seattle). That, during a holiday week, is impressive. Updated to four stars. Mistakes happen and sometimes it's about how you recover.

This lovely salon did hair for my wedding and we all looked amazing. Anna delivered a perfect updo for me after we did a drastically different trial hairstyle, and she also was kind enough to do last-minute hair on my mom and flower girl. Kelly did beautiful curls and prep work for the whole bridal party. I cannot thank them enough!

Okay. I have been a loyal customer for about three years now. I didn't get a good haircut on Tuesday. Is it laziness, is it that I am 40 and give off the perception I don't care about my appearances. When girls leave a salon, they want to feel like that just got their hair did. If I JUST wanted a hair cut, I would go to Super Cuts. Maybe time to look for a new make me feel special hair salon.

I'll never go anywhere else for my hair. I've been the subject of every hair disaster possible. I'm extremely careful about my hair now. I met kaylyn in 2012 and followed her to the parlor. She and Shay have only ever conducted magic. I've gone from blonde to auburn, balayage to ombre and back to blonde. I trust every girl in this place! Can't sing their praises enough. Every girlfriend of mine goes here now:)

OK, I know it's kinda against the rules to rate one of your friend's spots. But this time I'm crowing with praise! Tara is a mane mastermind. Real talk. I have thin, mostly curly, always frizzy hair, so I have a lot of experience with people "misunderstanding" that. She listened, then I literally saw a light bulb appear above her own crown of locks and she got to work. I am beyond happy with my cut, it really suits me. I get a hair compliment from someone everyday. Tara knows hair and is so real and cool. The salon itself is modern rustic and in a convenient location.

Love the Parlor! I have been going to Anna for years, and she never disappoints. Love the new location - absolutely perfect across the street on St. Helens from The Roberson. They have 3 stylists and an esthetician, and the place is decorated impeccably! Make an appt with Anna, Kaylyn or Shay... You won't regret it.

Anna recently did my hair for a wedding. She took my ideas and turned it into something beautiful. Held up all day and night. She was friendly and easy to work with. The salon itself is clean and inviting. I will be back soon!
