Dooley Colonial Home has been serving Westfield area families for years. We are honored to be a part of the rich history of this community and plan to be a part of it for many years to come. The funeral home was founded in 1913 by Charles E. Dooley. The Dooley family has served the Westfield and surrounding communities since that time over 100 years ago.
Funerals serve an important purpose: they allow us to recognize a life that was lived and acknowledge that the life has come to an end. Funerals exist for the living, for survivors who suffer the loss of a loved one. We understand that every family is different. Influences such as religious and cultural traditions, cost concerns and personal preferences make each funeral as unique as the person who is being honored.

The number of people choosing cremation has increased significantly in the past few years, yet cremation carries a long tradition and remains largely unchanged. Cremation simply expedites the process of reducing a body to bone fragments through application of intense heat. What is done before or after the cremation is up to the survivors, or up to you.

Loosing a loved one will always bring pain. Finding comfort, understanding and empathy for your lost is just crucial in such a difficult moment. Ryan and Dooley's did just that! Ryan helped me to celebrate my husband's life, bringing together all the pieces and people to do so in a record time, while making all the effort to fulfill our family wishes. Thank you so very much! Dooley Colonial Funeral Home helped my family so much in a difficult time; they helped us with the process of transferring ashes from another state's funeral home, and set up a simple but heartfelt memorial service with ease. My family has used the Dooley Colonial Funeral Home for many years. Having grown up in Westfield in a large family, we have always relied on them to help us during those difficult times and the service has always been excellent.
Recently, Ryan Tombs helped us with a few celebrations of life and went above & beyond the call of duty. He also helped me in getting some paperwork for some personal issues and did an amazing job. He is extremely helpful, thoughtful & compassionate.
I cannot imagine a better place or person to help with whatever needs you may have in this area in the Westfield/Cranford

Our family has been in Westfield for almost 120 years. Dooley's has always been a place of comfort and professionalism each time a family member died. I remember my Dad and Grandfather always spoke so very highly of Charlie Dooley. Perhaps that "Charlie" was second or third generation.
Recently my cousin and I needed some death certificates for our long departed Grandfather. It is a frustrating process to get anything from the state.
