I went to this salon for the first time yesterday and had an awesome experience. Laurie gave me the best haircut I've gotten since moving to Seattle a few years ago! Her salon is in a great, easy to get to location in Wallingford. I would highly recommend checking this place out, you won't be disappointed!

I have gone to Laurie for more than 10 years. During this time she has cut and colored my hair and even transitioned from color to natural. She is professional and thoughtful and listens to my preferences. There have been many times when strangers have complimented my cuts, so she must be doing something right. She owns her own salon in her home and her prices are very reasonable. I can't say enough good things about Laurie's styling.

Laurie is great. She always does a fabulous job, and if I were ever unhappy she encourages me to come back for a touch up.
I love supporting a local independent business woman working out of her home. She has a setup with a separate entrance on the side and a little waiting room. Definitely check her out if you aren't thrilled with your current stylist.

Laurie does a fantastic job cutting hair! It was easy to coordinate an appointment time via call and text message, which I really appreciated despite a last minute change on my part. The space was cozy and welcoming. Her hair cut was fantastic! I have been receiving compliments of my hair cut months after the cut - a sign of a job very well done! Highly recommend.

Laurie has a talent for knowing what to do with my hair, even when I don't know. Laurie's haircuts fall naturally into place and grow out beautifully, which is good because, unlike her, I am not a hair stylist.
Also, Laurie can do anything for anyone's hair. On her more adventurous customers, I have seen green highlights, bald fades, masses of curls and silky long tresses. Whatever you want, Laurie can do it. Even if you don't know what you want!

First time getting my hair done by Laurie and she is amazing! She gave great advice on what to do with my hair and is very experienced and knowledgeable about what she does. She gave me super cute highlights, and didn't try to chop off my hair like other hair stylists! Normally I don't find much to talk about when I go into a salon, but we had such a pleasurable conversation the time completely flew by! Definitely make sure to get your hair done by Laurie if you want someone who is experienced, fun, and affordable!

I feel so fortunate to have finally found such a wonderful hair stylist. I have been coming to Laurie for several years now, and hopefully for many more years. She does wonder with my hair and color, and I cannot imagine ever going to anyone else! And because she works out of her home, she is affordable to top it off.

This was my first time going to Laurie Phelan, and I'm absolutely going back for my regular hair cuts. i bought the groupon for the full foils and style, and Laurie did a fabulous job. I have thick, wavy hair that badly needed some attention, and she was great in listening to what I wanted and giving her honest opinion on what would look best. She definitely gives you personalized attention. The salon is home based and has a cozy vibe but still very professional since it is in the lower portion of her house and has its own entrance and waiting room (with free goodies like Red Vines!).

Laurie Phelan has been styling and coloring my hair for a few years. I have only deviated once, and it just served to remind me why I go to her. Every time I leave I feel SO MUCH BETTER! Her sweet, comfortable studio is nestled in the daylight basement of her home. She has tea and Red Vines and all sorts of magazines, but best of all, she takes her sweet time and uses her experience, knowledge and confidence to make you look and feel great! Plus she's great company! Highly recommended...

When I moved back to Seattle a few years ago, I had no idea where to go for color and cuts. When I complimented a woman on her hair, she told me about her stylist - Laurie Phelan. It's truly one of the best consumer decisions I've ever made. Her salon is downstairs in her charming Wallingford home. She's been doing hair for 25 years, and she has a talent for finding out what her customers want, and working with them to achieve it. She is also great at fixing the work of others. And if your 'guilty pleasure' is People, Vogue etc (as mine is) her magazines are always new
