KidWorks is committed to creating solutions that allow each child to create his/her own success in a fun, challenging, and safe environment. Our therapy process focuses on the emotional and social development within a relationship based model utilizing DIR/Floortime principles.

KidWorks Therapy Services was established in 1999 by Rebecca Pokluda with a vision to bring together a group of experienced, passionate Occupational, Speech, and Physical Therapists dedicated to family-centered, individualized care. Our clinic is housed on a tree shaded hill in South-Central Austin that has been modified to provide optimal therapeutic intervention while, at the same time, facilitating the safe, comfortable feel of a home.
Services
Rebecca is the owner and clinical director of KidWorks Therapy Services. She started KidWorks Therapy in 1999. Rebecca has worked in therapeutic environments for over 25 years. Rebecca graduated with her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology with a minor in Biology from University of Texas and with her Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from Texas Women's University, completing her thesis on Sensory Integration.
We are housed in a warm, home like space to provide your family with a natural and welcoming environment. The large historic oak tree shading the front yard offers ample tree climbing, while our updated 1950s era South Austin home allows us to provide quality clinical services in an un-clinic like setting.
Please contact our friendly office staff at 512-444-7219. You will be asked a few questions about your child's current status as well as basic contact information and insurance details if applicable. An appointment will be scheduled for an evaluation and you will receive directions to our clinic. We ask that children arrive in comfortable play clothes in order to have full range of motion for testing and their comfort.
Founded by Dr. Lucy Jane Miller, PhD, OTR, the SPD Foundation promotes research, education, and advocacy amongst therapists, parents, teachers, and anyone who interacts with children who have Sensory Processing Disorder. STAR Center is the premier clinic for multidisciplinary assessment and research-based treatment of Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD) and other sensory challenges in children, adolescents, and adults.
If you are interested in joining our team please send your resume to kidworkscommunity@gmail.com. We enjoy having volunteers support our team! Volunteers should be motivated and able to commit a minimum of 80 total service hours. If you are interested in becoming a KidWorks volunteer, please contact us at kidworkscommunity@gmail.com.

My 3 year old son, with sensory processing disorder (hypersensitive)/autism, has been in O.T. here since June. Today they walked him out to the car and he was wearing a mask, for the first time in his life. We have a VERY strong belief in 'no masks on children'. I was outraged. I was never ever asked if they could be permitted to teach/coerce my child into a mask. Just like that, we will never be going back. After this incident today, my child has now been taught how to verbally and physically refuse any mask that is forced onto his face. Parents and children have rights. They took advantage of

Kidworks has been a great help with my extreme picky eater. The journey is long and can be so frustrating and exhausting for parents. Tina has been so wonderful to work with. She gives us great feedback and support and my son absolutely adores her. Working with Kidworks is the first time in several years I felt progress could be made.

Very disappointed in this business. Once again scare tactics were used before any test or exams were given. Also this place is full! You will be robbed paying for an evaluation and later finding out that they are fully booked to start therapy! This place should let people know they are booked and that you child will not be seen as quickly as you would like. Instead of stealing people's money! Please don't go here please find somewhere else to take your child!

I can't say enough positive about Kid Works. It is definitely geared for children and getting kiddos the services they need. The therapists are positive, dedicated and seem to really enjoy working with my child. There are lots of therapy places I wouldn't go to but this is one I can't recommend enough.

We had a poor experience unfortunately. The biggest issue was with billing. They cost us hundreds of dollars due to blunders with our insurance and refuse to own up to it or do anything to resolve. The services were mediocre with communication slim and takeaways slimmer and we saw no changes even after months of visits. Wish it wasn’t the case as parents and kids seeking help need not to waste time or hope.

Two of my sons had sensory integration disorder and for the YEARS of therapy, I met and worked with many therapists. Rebecca Pokluda is truly the best of the best. She is gifted, stays up to date, hires well and the kids love her. It was actually sad the day she told me he was "graduating." In this field, dealing with insurance and your child's issues are so demanding--no matter where you go. KidWorks gives you peace of mind that your child is getting quality therapy.

I've been taking my 5-year-old son to Kidworks for a year and a half, and I'm beyond thrilled with his progress! What at first appeared to be just picky eating eventually became a more serious problem. As he got older he continued to refuse most foods and by age 3 only had 5-6 foods in his repertoire. While he was growing normally, he wasn't getting a good balance of the food groups and all meal times were a struggle. We couldn't eat out as a family as there was never anything on a menu he would eat - his diet consisted of fruit, one kind of cheese, yogurt and crackers.

Expect all kind of troubles. The billing lady is very rude and do not expect the owner to apologize for that as they are a couple. Their billing is impossible to understand (and I took accounting in college), and they will call you the day of appointment and threaten to cancel the appointment if bill (3 weeks old) is not paid in full right away. Therapy is frequently cancelled and is not great either. Glad we left.

I am beyond pleased with therapist Emily at KidWorks! We started out at another therapy spot in a nearby town, closer to our home in Georgetown, despite being advised to go to KW. We wasted 6 months, plus more time, when I should have just resolved to make the drive to South Austin. We have since moved closer, and that makes life easier, but it would not matter- I'd still drive! The difference in our son is obvious. He eats now! He has gained strength & coordination, and that improves self-confidence. Even the SPD does not seem as obvious as before. I cannot thank or recommend these folks

Disappointed that it wasn't open on time. Receptionist was late, however I have the feeling it's a regular occurrence. Didn't seem bothered by being late. Staff was ok. Was told they will try to get in the full session. Really????? Like it's a courtesy to give what is being paid for.........

My son was recommended for a speech and OT evaluation at Kidworks Therapy.

I'm pretty sure they don't write down their appointments as no one ever calls to confirm beforehand and I get a lot of blank stares at the front desk.

On the day of his speech evaluation, the therapist we were scheduled to see wasn't there. There was much scrambling and the assistant director herself ended up doing part of the eval. She had to split it into two parts on two consecutive days as she didn't have time to do the whole thing, but I thought that was pretty cool of her to squeeze us in

My child never got the chance to work with the therapists there and I feel like he really missed out. I called for a speech and ot evaluation and waited. Something went wrong with the paperwork and we kind of fell through the cracks. It took a few months for them to get back to me and by that time my family was set to move in a few weeks time. We decided to go ahead with the evals just to see where we were at with my son. He met with Liz for speech and Rebecca for OT. These women are wonderful. Even though they knew that we would not be receiving therapy there, they went out of their way to make

Kidworks has great therapists, however, the billing department is a complete mess. We have nothing but problems trying to straighten out an unexpected $2000.00 bill. I agree with the previous posts as we experienced the same issues. It is so unfortunate that they can't figure out the business side because they really are a great group of people.

For the quality of the therapy, I give a 5! But as the other reviewer said, their billing staff is horrible. We have gone a dozen or more times. They keep billing wrong. I have asked them to fix it multiple times. My insurance keeps denying the payments. They have never billed me any of my copays. Not even sure how much I owe yet. IT's very frustrating as their therapist are exceptional.

We sent two of my daughters to Kidworks in 2010. The therapy services that we received from Brooke were outstanding. She was such a sweetheart and the girls did well with her. We are giving a one star rating because of the office and management.

Our insurance was incorrectly billed by their office and we were sent to a collection agency because they were unable to get paid. We tried several times to correct the issue, but our phone calls were never returned; we could never get a response from the manager or owner. On one occasion my wife went to their office to help correct the billing issue
