Services
Chatham Animal Hospital began in 1983 in downtown Cary as a one doctor one assistant facility at 251 West Chatham Street, the current home of Pretty Paws grooming salon owned and operated by Miss Kim McCampbell. After thoroughly enjoying being a part of Old Downtown Cary for 11 years our practice outgrew the facility necessitating a change.
At Chatham Animal Hospital, we're proud of our role in the community of Cary. As a one-stop clinic for all your pet's needs, we're able to be your pet's medical care provider from birth through old age. Our pet dental services help keep pets teeth clean. From dental examinations to cleanings and extractions, we can ensure that your pet has proper oral hygiene.
Dr. Bailey was born and raised in central Illinois. He received his B.S. in Biology from the University of Illinois in 2005. During his undergraduate training, he spent his summers in North Carolina and fell in love with the south. He was accepted by North Carolina State College of Veterinary Medicine, and graduated in 2009.
The best way to keep your pet happy and healthy is to bring it to our office for regular pet wellness exams. Like human beings, pets can develop health problems that can only be found with a medical examination. Catching these problems early means that our Cary veterinarian can treat your pet while the disease hasn't progressed, making it easier to cure.
You may understand the reasons for taking your pet to your Cary veterinarian when illness or injury strikes -- but preventative wellness exams are at least as important for ensuring your best friend's well being in the long term. Even so, you may be unfamiliar with this type of veterinary care, especially if you're new to the world of pet ownership.

Amazing experience, friendly staff, beautiful facility, and overall everything I could have asked for in a vet! I recently established care for my cat with Chatham Animal Hospital after she ran away for a few days, and Dr. Bailey walked me through everything I needed to know about her health with patience and positivity. I felt reassured that my cat was in the best hands, and am glad to know that she has a team of compassionate professionals that has her back if ever needed. I highly recommend this team for cat care- thank you so much Dr. Bailey and staff!

I cannot say enough good things about Chatham animal Hospital. I needed some last minute paperwork and physical for my cat for international travel. Dr. Morgan Craddock and her team really went above and beyond to help me out in a pinch! Not every veterinarian works with and understands the process for international travel for animals so I feel really lucky to have found them. Superb service, excellent care, and fabulous staff. What more could you want??

I called them to obtain my dog's medical records from 4-5 years ago, and they lost them! I was very astonished. I was able to obtain all of my dog's medical records from other vet clinics from that time period. I am taking my dog to NC State's vet school, and therefore they requested all medical information. When I called them, a male answered the… phone and said, 'oh we switched our system last year, so I have to find the physical documentation, and then I can scan that in, and send it to you.' I asked him was he sure that he still had my dog's medical records. He said, 'oh yes, we just

Dr Bailey is absolutely amazing and put new completely at ease. My cars went to Petsmart at park west in morrisville previously, and we had an AWFUL experience there. One of my cats was being difficult, so they took her to another room, and I could hear her howling down the hallway. It broke my heart and made me feel incredibly uneasy. I had always gone to a petsmart back where I'm from in Kansas City, so I didn't do research when I moved to this area. I wish I had because it would have saved me a lot of heartache. Dr Bailey was amazing. He is incredibly knowledgeable, and happy to answer

The vets and staff at Chatham Animal Hospital are top notch. I was so glad to meet Dr Bailey. The first visit with him, I was prepared for the worst but he was able to make my little girl feel better and she was with me two more years after that. That was five years ago now and no matter where I have lived since, I make the drive for my cats to continue under his care. He is not only patient with the animals but with their sometimes overly concerned mother :)

Incredibly thorough and caring clinic.
I've been taking my pets here since I moved to NC 9 years ago. When my cat became sick, Dr. Bailey and Dr. K did everything in their power (multiple times) to help her and try to make her and myself more comfortable.
I had moved slightly further away from CAH a few years ago and decided to try the vet hospital across the street when I got my dog, Goose, but everything in my experience there led me to realize how unique of a place Chatham is.
Every time I call or come in I am welcomed with enthusiasm and warmth. I know they have a lot of patients

Dr. Craddock is an amazing veterinarian. She is patient, thoughtful and fully invested in the health of your pet. I fully entrust her in the care of my animals. The hospital itself is clean and it is a very friendly environment. They even have a rewards program and the ability to track my pet's health via an app. Plus, my child loves the little play area that is provided.

Excellent staff, excellent vets, excellent facilities. Dr Bailey in particular is the vet you always hope you will find. I could go on forever. They always go "above and beyond" and their compassion is outstanding. I trust them completely with the total care of my pets. And to address the 2 star review they received from someone else, sometimes it is hard to keep up with and understand the rationale regarding vaccines. Trust me, you do not want to take your pet anywhere for grooming if they are not adamant about having the pet's vaccines updated first. (I have good friends who don

Clean facilities and ok staff.
I have dealt with a number of vets over the years in different states and this place is not the greatest. On my second visit I was told I had not been charged a $150 exam fee for one of my dogs, and sure enough when I grabbed the receipt from my car I had been charged. They also require a number of tests and recurring booster shots twice a year when most vets (actually all vets I have worked with) require them once a year. When I was taking my dog into the groomer for the second time I was told she needed one of these biannual booster shots, as I was not told this

I recently moved to Cary and adopted a new kitten. I looked on Yelp for a good vet, and based on reviews, I chose Chatham Animal Hospital. I couldn't be happier with my decision! All of the staff are so nice and helpful, and my kitten's new vet (Dr. Bailey) is awesome! I've never had a vet spend so much time with me during a visit; explaining everything. You can tell that everyone there really cares about the animals in their care. If you are looking for a new vet, I highly recommend Chatham Animal Hospital!

I have been with the same vet since I got my dog 4 years ago. Finally after several moves I figured it was time to find one closer, and I am glad I did. While Chatham was not the closest, it had the best reviews and I can see why. It doesn't take much for a vet to impress me, however my dog Teddy is a completely different story. He has never liked the vet and it has always led to me either holding him down or putting a muzzle on him.
Well I can safely say that he likes Chatham Animal Hospital. He liked pretty much everyone he ran into, and when I was in the examination room he even walked

My husband and I haven't used Chatham Animal Hospital for long but in the amount time that we did, we have nothing but good things to say about them. We had seen Dr. Curtis once and Dr. Bailey twice and both doctors I felt had the concern and passion to try to help our sickly dog as much as they could over the last few months of his life.
Rhett, our poodle, had previously had three bladder stone surgeries by other vets which ultimately led to his deterioration and lessened his quality of life. In his last few months he was unable to control his bodily functions, seemed to not sleep as much

Couldn't agree more with KB. We've been bringing our dog here for three years and by now, I feel that they treat him like family. All of the techs and staff recognize and remember him. He's seen several of the vets and they've all been great. We also love Dr. Bailey. Everyone here really cares about the animals they treat, and it shows in their relaxed yet caring attitudes. I agree that the prices are reasonable, and I've never had the feeling they were pushing an unnecessary service or exam on me like I have at other vets. I also agree that the boarding rates are really

I really like Chatham Animal Hospital. Unlike a competitor nearby, Chatham has outstanding front-desk staff and great doctors. For doctors, our personal favorite is Dr. Matt Bailey. He has "the touch" with animals and is so great with them and doctoring them. As our dog has grown older and now has more health problems, I've had to call with emergencies right before they closed (as I was getting home from work and discovering my dog incapacitated). They never said "Oh, this is too close to our closing time, so go to an open-late emergency hospital." Instead, they always
