Parley Anderson is a Native Nevadan, and has lived in Reno for the last 22 years. He attended the University of Nevada, where he received a Bachelor's in Education. He also attended graduate school as well as UNR, where he also taught Personal Health and Lifestyles and directed the University's Fitness Center.
He then attended the University of Pacific where he earned both a Master's and a Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy. He's been a practicing physical therapist for 12 years. Currently owns Active Physical Therapy, which opened up 4 1/2 year ago. Parley's physical therapy experience includes one year experience in spine care working at the Sierra Regional Spine Institute.

We are still continuing to work to expand our insurance list so that we can provide more physical therapy services to serve more of our patients. If we are not contracted with your insurance we offer affordable cash pay rates.

After Achilles tendon surgery I was referred by my surgeon to Active PT. I have never attended PT before so I was a bit apprehensive. A friendly staff member checked me in and then Jordan took over. Very caring and friendly. I began my PT with Dr. Spevek. He took the time to explain the process all the while reassuring me that with time and work I would fully recover.
I highly recommend to anyone considering PT please give this clinic your attention. You won't be disappointed. E

I hurt my shoulder this year while working out and was referred to Active Physical Therapy by urgent care. It was a bit of a drive from my home in South Reno, but it was totally worth it. Dr. Spevak was wonderful! He took the time to assess me each week, explain his treatment, and help me progress in my healing. Just as important, however, he truly seemed to care about my health. AND, he was the first doctor I've ever had to actually support my participation in CrossFit. As a serious athlete, that meant a lot!

I was recommended to Active P.T. by a physical therapist I work with at Renown two years ago for my shoulder rehab after surgery. I had an assembly line experience at another well known group in Reno, so I was hesitant. I was so impressed with the professionalism of the entire staff from their knowledge to their attire. Mike is an awesome therapist, love his gentleness, expertise and tough love when needed ( i am a stubborn runner!). I recently had meniscus surgery and went right back to Dr. Mike and crew for the same unbelievable great rehab experience. Thank you for keeping me able to do what

Wow, just wow! My elderly Mom had been going to Dr Anderson & his staff for PT 5 months or so. She stopped going do to an unforeseen illness, and one day a beautiful arrangement of flowers came to her house. What a lovely surprise; she was so happy to read the card and see it was from the Dr and staff not one of her kids etc. lol
Your office clearly shows not only compassion for the patient, but truly it shouts she is not just another number/patient under your care. I cannot thank you enough Dr Anderson and staff for your care of my Mom, Evie A.

Doctor Parley Anderson is my PT doctor and I give him the highest praise... plus!
Not only is he professional and knowledgeable he has a warm heart and is genuinely caring for his patients. One cannot help but improve under his care.
The whole atmosphere at Spevak.Anderson Active Physical Therapy is one that is caring for people. The folks at the front desk are warm and welcoming and all of the PT assistants are the best!
Dr. Spevak is much cared for by his patients and like Dr. Anderson, is positive and encouraging.
All that being said... they are experts in PT!

This is an amazing clinic and staff. I came in 6 weeks ago in pain, unable to bend my knee with the prospect of a surgery looming. Six weeks later, I am pain-free with a repaired meniscus tear. Dr. Anderson and his staff are kind, compassionate and truly care for their patients. I would not let my family go anywhere else in Reno than this clinic.

I was seen at Active PT starting in February of this year. The treatment that I received was for my neck and the care that I received was from the heart. Parley and the entire staff will make you feel right at home. The setting is bright and open so that you can have interaction with the other patients and not feel totally isolated! My neck has never felt better! Thank you Parley!

I was headed to surgery for my rotator cuff, just stopped by to see what Spevak thought about after-surgery PT. He suggested giving PT a few months try before surgery... and he completely fixed my shoulder.
The surgeon had INSISTED the shoulder would not get better without cutting. While in PT I met numerous folks who'd had the surgery and we're doing months of PT to finish the job. With Spevak's help, I simply skipped the surgery part, did a few months of PT, and got on with my life.
This places rocks.

I have been to Active PT very frequently for sports related injuries and each time I have been back racing within a very short period of time. Michael and Parley are terrific. Their knowledge of body movements is exceptional and I continue to refer anyone I meet with injuries or problems to their clinic. If there were more stars they would get them. Always professional and they get me back running. Can't say enough!!

Don't let the holes in the ceiling and dirty torn carpet scare you away. This place is A1. Great therapists, super caring staff, plus a nice mix of students and interns. I've had therapy at several other places over the years. Even worked at an orthopedic clinic in the past. I am VERY impressed with this facility.

Over the last ten years I have gone thru several physical therapists. I believe in trying to fix aches and pains some other way than with drugs. An over play of golf last year really wrenched my left elbow. To the point I couldn't pick up and pour a gallon of milk. What will this do to the golf swing. Then I an referred to this group. Great small staff and literally out my back door. Dr has the elbow feeling great after two sessions. I just need perfect and painless by end of march for some better golf scores.
