Although I've had a family dog my whole life, I only just got my very own dog for the first time this year. I am new to the parenting life, so vet-related stuff is foreign as well. I've had three appointments thus far, all with EXCEPTIONAL service and care. Our mission is to provide a comprehensive list of quality services and compassionate care for both our patients and their owners in an environment that feels more like a haven than a hospital.

Dr. Chris Plumley acquired his BS (1999 with honors) and DVM (2002) degrees from the University of Tennessee before coming to work for Dr. Walter Knight at the Whitefield Animal Hospital directly out of veterinary school. He worked as a staff veterinarian for 5 years before acquiring the practice from Dr. Knight in early 2007.

Three years ago our Bullmastiff, Brawn, was diagnosed with bone cancer. After lengthy discussion with Dr. Plumley, we felt that it was in her best interest that Brawn be put to sleep to end her pain. We can't even begin to describe the love, support and compassion that we were given by Dr. Plumley, his technician, and staff as we sat with our "baby" to say our goodbyes.

I have been bringing my four legged loves here for over 20 years. I feel certain they love them as I do only they are highly educated and speak with me as I am as well when I am truly at their mercy. I love that they explain all the details of any illnesses and of the healing. I am grateful for this group of dedicated people!!

I was very pleased with how well they treated my Shelby. (Cat) Even though it was raining the Dr. came out to the car & explained everything I needed to do for her. Whenever I've called, they are also very helpful & pleasant! This was my first visit & I was even more pleased with how reasonable the price was!! Our dear sweet dog had to be put down and the doctor at the hospital was so compassionate and empathetic she made it as easy as it could be! We had her cremated and they sent her home with us in an amazing wooden Box which was engraved with her name! The place itself is clean and the animals seem to be loved there.

We've recently moved to the area. Our first visit was an emergency. Reception got us in quickly. Both the vet and the techs were knowledgeable and friendly. Cat number two needed a checkup and shots. Once again, every member of the team put us at ease. Our third, fourth, and fifth furry felines have now scheduled their appointments. I'm happy to say we've found a excellent place to help keep our fur babies healthy and happy.
