Rio Lerma Mexican Restaurant
The restaurant was named after the Lerma Santiago River (Rio Lerma Santiago) which is Mexico's second longest river. It is a 600 mile long river in west-central Mexico that begins in Mexican Plateau at an altitude over 9,843 ft above sea level, and ends where it empties into Lake Chapala, Mexico's largest lake, near Guadalajara, Jalisco.

Hugo Jimenez invites you to enjoy his authentic Mexican food from his own home recipes that he brought to Forney with the opening of Rio Lerma. Hugo is committed to using only the finest fresh ingredients in all his recipes & ensuring that each customer receives excellent customer service with a warm welcome, in a family atmosphere where the whole family can relax and enjoy the Rio Lerma experience.

I absolutely recommend this business. I had one of the best chimichangas I've ever had in my life. The Verde sauce was spicy and rich. Every one of us cleared our plate. The chips and salsa were fantastic. Warm chips, semi spicy rich salsa. 10/10 would recommend and I will be back for more chimichangas!!!!!!

Meh, been a few times, not my choice, but food is bland and lacks the pizazz that other Mexican food places have had for years. Good place to go and have a beer but it does get loud.

We went here on a Friday night and this place does get pack. It is huge inside and have lots of servers to accommodate. I ordered the the rib eye steak tacos. It comes with a bean and sausage soup, avocado and spicy salsa. I did not really care for the spicy salsa. The rib eye tacos were good, the beef was moist and not dry. Food does come out fast so you will not notice with the crowds.

The chips and salsa was good. After you are done eating, it does take a while to get the bill however.

Ordered queso.

8.50$$$ for a small bowl salty and overpriced.

19$ for the convenience of not making it myself. No thanks. Will no return.

Good restaurant and great service! My husband and me are regulars and have always had good service. Brisket Tacos are always good, and so is the borracho beans.

We were very excited to find a Mexican restaurant with authentic food! Not a lot of options in Forney, unfortunately.

The salsa is amazing, ask for the hot stuff ;) The margaritas were great and the service is always exceptional. The carne asada is the BEST! On our last visit, we added the chipotle shrimp on top and I definitely recommend it :)

Had a chicken quesadilla for lunch. Very skimpy ingredients, I was surprised.

Off the service road of Highway 80, in Forney.
Service was rushed, almost to the point of rudeness. Waitress, visibly irritated when I asked for a minute to check out the menu.

I might try them again but it wouldn't be my selection.

Up there with some of the best Mexican here in town. I enjoy it. Only been during this COVID time, so I'm sure it's better. Food is really good, only thing I can knock is the salsa. Salsa is quite bad honestly.

I had a taste for Mexican food so I wanted to find a place in Forney to try. Their reviews were good and the food looked delicious so I decided to pick up dinner for myself and hubby.

I ordered Queso, Cheese Enchilada dinner with chili sauce for myself and the Chile Relleno dinner for my husband. All meals come with complimentary chips and salsa.

The Queso was a big disappointment. It comes with jalapeños and spinach but I could only taste cheese. The Enchiladas were good and I would probably get them again. The chips and salsa is decent but the chips aren't homemade.

I will

One of my favorite "Mexican" restaurants. Has a little flair to it I.e. enchiladas stuffed with mash potatoes topped with brisket. They also have vegetarian and vegan options !
I always order the "Brian's enchiladas" , no dressing in salad , and a side of beans no cheese. My son loves their kids quesadillas.

Good service, good food just a little bit of a long wait time. Waited over 30+ minutes for our entrees.

Came around the lunch hour to grab a quick bite with a friend. Started off with the complimentary chips and salsa, and ordered the ceviche. The ceviche was delicious but I wanted more of a traditional ceviche:

My buddy ordered the Chicken and got the salad on the side. He said the Chicken was juicy topped with some sautéed shrimp.

I ordered the camarones and it was awesome. If you like cheesy dishes this is for you, they also give you a side of buttery bread so a carb lovers dream. The

Best TexMex in Terrell! Quickly seated in a spacious dining room, my first impression was WOW - this place has a ton of windows! All if the walls are almost solid windows, offering a panoramic view of small-town life. Love it!

Our chips, drinks and queso came fast - and we were happy. The queso & salsa are both thin, almost watery - but very good. We decided to share a couple of appetizers instead of entrees, and it was great! The Shredded Chicken Nachos were fantastic and generously apportioned, and the Shrimp Quesadillas were even better!! We left stuffed!

Best TexMex I've had
