After obsessing over every wedding show on TV in 2004, my favorite being, "Who's Wedding Is It Anyway?" and pouring over all the latest bridal magazines, I knew that I wanted to become a wedding planner. My experience in restaurants developed the sense of urgency and customer satisfaction I craved, since I have been known to be a people pleaser.

I got married in 2020, yes during the pandemic. Why? Well my dad's been battling cancer and so has my husbands step-father. It was the right thing to do because at the end of the year my husbands grandfather passed away, we are so fortunate that he made our wedding.

With that said, planning a wedding is stressful. Planning a wedding during a pandemic is next level. Luckily, I had Emily from a sparkling event by my side every step of the way. I hired A Sparkling Event for wedding coordination services for my October wedding this year. I would have loved to hire Mandi for full wedding planning services; however, my budget was completely inflexible. Cautiously optimistic, I decided to plan my wedding with support from A Sparkling Event. Mandi and her wonderful team set me up with an online planning tool and a complete list of suggested vendors. I was lucky, because my future daughter-in-law hired Mandi for her November wedding in Carmel Valley, CA.

Mandi managed the rehearsal dinner that we hosted for our son and his bride. Having a destination event, required that I have a local and experienced person working with me. Mandi was perfect, as she had insight into the bride's preferences, yet worked with me as the host. She managed the venue staff, the photographer, florist, and decorating details. I was able to ship supplies directly to her and she handled all the details. The winery garden dinner for 45 was flawless!

I've been meaning to write this review quite awhile now. I hired Mandi to help me plan my wedding back in October 2017. She wasn't exactly cheap, but I think you get what you pay for when it comes to most wedding stuff and worth every penny! I realized I was way in over my head because I lived out of state at the time and was having trouble staying organized and on top of vendors. And of course there was the typical day-of snafus and vendor miscommunications, but Mandi was on top of all of it and kept everything running smoothly! I hired Mandi from A Sparkling Event to put together my Mom's upscale 80th birthday party. We are not from the Monterey area and hired Mandi close to the date of the event. We trusted her to handle every part of the event including choosing the venue- all sight unseen by us. She aced it. She was patient when we shifted gears continuously with entertainers & music. I'm not sure where to begin. Perhaps by saying that Mandi was not available for our event date, and referred us to one of her associate planners, Janeen. That's where the train went off the tracks.

Janeen certainly has her strengths. She's very friendly, and is quite creative. You can tell she really loves the visual element of designing a beautiful wedding. She also has a short list of great vendors in the area, which is why we got a local planner despite living in SF. We could not have had a better experience with the A Sparkling Event team, specifically Mandi. We got married in Carmel last weekend and it was the best weekend of our lives. We live in New York City and did not know most local vendors, etc. Mandi was a godsend - she recommended top-notch vendors, she was on top of planning everything and staying organized, she handled unforeseen events (because there always will be some) with patience and efficiency, and she went above and beyond our expectations. Ok, when I heard I was working with a sparkling event coordinator I took a deep exhale lol these folks know how to coordinate a wedding! Sometime for a dj he can get stuck in between vendors (doing Photobooths, photography and videography but with Emily running things tonight I could count on announcing events without a doubt they were going to happen. There are many things that you will doubt in the months, weeks, and days leading up to your wedding. After getting married this past summer, I can see why people get so stressed planning a wedding! It is such a huge event that only happens once, and for us, one of the best decisions was hiring Mandi as the wedding coordinator. Mandi was fantastic! She was very professional, and has a friendly demeanor that makes the process painless (while also charming all of our wedding guests!). Mandi is absolutely fantastic at making weddings go smoothly. I have no idea how Matthew and I would have managed without her. I was very impressed with her level of organization and making sure everyone stayed focused at our rehearsal. Mandi and her team at A Sparkling Event did were invaluable to our wedding! We hired Mandi as a Day-of-Coordinator, but her guidance and services went above and beyond. We met with her several times in the months prior to wedding to make sure that we were on track. Mandi was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. She was helpful in providing insight to decorations, set up of venue, purchasing flowers and any little hiccup that came around. Mandi was an absolute godsend. I reached out to her about six months prior to my wedding. My first impressions of Mandi were that she was a fantastic listener, very knowledgeable (rattled of prices of chair costs, etc), organized, and action oriented. When my husband and I met Mandi in person, she was incredibly organized (had a binder full of our wedding details) and we knew we were in good hands!

We hired Mandi as our day of wedding coordinator and we're so glad we did! Mandi was great to work with before the big day and exceeded our expectations on the day of. Our venue wasn't typical and we had a lot of decor to set up in a short amount of time but Mandi handled everything perfectly. Not the smallest detail was missed. This is a groom's perspective.

It may be unusual for a groom to review a wedding planner but Mandi was just that good. As my wife mentioned in her review, we experienced a bad "Carmel" wedding planner and came across Mandi only weeks before my wedding.
