Top Hat Montessori
At Top Hat Montessori children's safety is the utmost priority and OCC, MDOH AND CDC GUIDELINES are strictly FOLLOWED FOR THE HEALTH AND SAFETY for children and staff to allow in-person learning during Pandemic times! Our daughter has attended Top Hat since she was 4 months old. As a new mom who was very hesitant to send her baby to daycare, I felt at ease within the first week of taking her to TH.

The infant teachers are wonderful! Ms. Lilia is gentle, patient and attentive. Our daughter is now 16 months old, and has moved up to the toddler room. Ms. Daisy is a great teacher and I love that she is the primary teacher for toddlers! The rest of the staff are great as well! Ms. Patty, the assistant director, is very responsive when I have any questions or concerns.
Services
We offer a part-time option for part-time attendance within the hours of 8:00 am - 12:00 noon Monday through Friday. Arrangements can also be made where picking your child up by 3:00 pm each day of the month will reduce the cost of full-time tuition by $100 a month. Special arrangements can also be made (via Confirmation at least 24 hours ahead of time only) for you to drop your child off as early as 6:30 am or to pick up as late as 8:30 pm.
Our Infant program in our Montessori School in Gaithersburg, Maryland serves children 6 weeks through - 17 months of age. As children reach the age of 18 months, they are transitioned into the Toddler program; exact timing depends on space availability and the individual child's developmental progress.
Join our Toddler program in our Montessori School in Gaithersburg, Maryland every morning, or for three days per week if you choose. After a morning of fun and educational activities, your child can come home for lunch and a welcome nap or drop them off on your way to work and pick them up at the end of your day.
Our preschool program in our Montessori School in Gaithersburg, Maryland is a three year progression in a mixed-age classroom, which we call Primary. Children enter the class when they are three years old, and stay in the same class through Kindergarten. In the early afternoon, while younger children are napping, our Pre-K and Kindergarten students receive advanced lessons.
In kindergarten, your child can learn different fundamental knowledge that allows them to be ready for grade school. At Top Hat Montessori, we make kindergarten fun and enjoyable while covering the academic content your child needs to be on the path for success in grade school. Using the freedom and creativity of Maria Montessori's method, the kindergartner in our school will learn fundamental skills in math, reading, and writing.

My daughter likes her teacher and her classmates lot. The facility is clean and nice. They care about my child's well-being. Definitely recommended this school.

Our daughter has been going to Top Hat for over two years. She started in the toddler class and is now in the Primary class. We absolutely love the kind, attentive teachers (and she does, too). She gets a lot of one-on-one attention, and she loves her reading lessons at school so much she asked us if she could have reading lessons at home, too!

We like that the Montessori program is individualized to each child's needs -- we feel that our daughter is doing activities that challenge and interest her. And of course she gets lots of time to play and socialize as well. The owners and school

My oldest son has been attending this school since fall 2019 when he was 5 months old. This is one of the only montessori schools that accepts infants so that was a huge plus. We wanted him to get that independence early on. The teachers operate in the infant room at a 3:1 ratio as state requirements dictate. I think the care is very good for the infants. My youngest son is now being cared for by the same teachers that my oldest son was being cared for by.

My oldest son is now in the toddler room and I will say that he is making leaps and bounds with his communication and behavior. It's

My 2 daughters have been coming to Top Hat for almost 2 years now. My oldest has been in the primary class and my youngest has been in the toddler class. Laura and staff have been phenomenal at accommodating to my children's needs and we couldn't be happier about that. Staff helped my oldest become fully potty trained and are working on my youngest, which as all parents know takes a village. My daughter is fully prepared to enter kindergarten this fall and is a head of the curve in what she is expected to know once she starts. Recently there has been a change in ownership and it is def for the

My son started at Top Hat Montessori two months ago and so far, my husband and I have been happy with his care. His teachers in the infant room have been working well with him and they communicate with me clearly - which I appreciate. The school hours of operation are also great because they are open very early in the morning. I toured plenty of child care centers in the area and Top Hat Montessori was my favorite out of all of them.

We have been brining our son here since he was about 5 months old. We absolutely adore Julian's two main teachers Ms. Daisy and Ms. Lilia. You can tell that they both love what they do and care deeply about the children. Recently Top Hat underwent a change in ownership and it has been for the better. There is clear communication from the owners on an ongoing basis as well as cosmetic changes to the inside of the building. Excited to see what other changes are in store.

The manager is very unprofessional and rude. Also, my friend brought to my attention the racial discrimination she received from the same manager here. I don’t recommend anyone to bring their children here for people deserve fair, adequate, and professional services. I previously wrote a review on this company and today, I decided to follow up just to see mines and other people’s honest reviews were removed. The truth must hurt.

If you are in the market for daycare or pre-K program in Gaithersburg, Top Hat Montessori is really a great option!
My son has attended Top Hat since he was 6 months old. My wife and I have found that all three programs (infant, toddler and primary) are very well run. Each room offers a peaceful learning environment compared to some of the schools/daycare centers we visited before choosing Top Hat. The teachers truly care about children and they work with parents to ensure that progress is tracked on a daily basis. I feel that my son will be well prepared to start public school next September

This daycare is not one I would recommend. My Son has attended this place for only 1 month so far and hes had several incidents where the teachers and faculty have not fed him. There was one incident where my son asked the teacher for breakfast (which they provide from 7am-8am). The teacher responded to my 5 year old by saying he must eat at home and he proceeded the day without breakfast. He had already attended this place for 2 weeks until he finally mentioned to me that they have not been giving him breakfast. I was so upset at this fact that i went and spoke to someone there about it. After

The owner is prejudice and I know this from personal experience. Do not take your child there, especially if you are Black.

I think they care more about their high turn over staff than the needs of the children. My child attended for a while but his needs were not met. He was also very thirsty everytime I would pick him up. I also had issues with his diaper not being changed. Its interesting because there was not a large volume of children (toddler's class). Honestly speaking, you pay for the name.

Our son has been at Top Hat Montessori for a year in the toddler room and have been very pleased with the care he receives. The lead teacher in the room is a trained Montessori teacher and is excellent, and the assistant teachers are very good also. The teacher:student ratio is 9:2 in the toddler rooms which I think is better than the 12:2 I've seen at other facilities especially with active toddlers. Our son is happy to go to school in the morning and is happy when we pick him up at night. The school is very clean, the facilities are newly renovated and were set up from the beginning to be suitable

With all of the choices in the area for childcare, my wife and I chose to enroll our 6-month old son in Top Hat Montessori. We were initially drawn to Top Hat because of its location...it's about an 8-minute drive from Gaithersburg MARC train station. We visited the school to check out some of the tangibles in person.

We were impressed by the infant-to-teacher ratio of 3:1 and the consistency of caregivers (high employee turnover was one of our non-negotiables). Another impressive attribute about the school is the overall atmosphere. At some daycare facilities, you get the feeling that
