Welcome to Children's Dentistry of Sanford, the office of Dr. Mark Lucier, DMD. The office is located in Sanford, Maine and with your help, it is our goal to help your child achieve and maintain a beautiful and healthy smile! Our office provides patient care in its highest standard. We do so in an environment this is child friendly, inviting, and warm.
Gone are the days of white coats, shirts, and ties. Gone too are the traditional ideas that space cannot be child friendly and functional; almost everything in the office is set to a child's height (even the dental chairs)! We strive to create an environment that is both kid-friendly and caring in order to treat the children of York County.

Services
For the past eight years, Dr. Mark has been providing his patients with the highest standard of care. He grew up in Taunton, Massachusetts, the eldest of three boys. Having graduated from Taunton High School, he enrolled at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts. Having attained a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry and Art History, he was selected to matriculate to Tufts University School of Dental Medicine.
We strive to create an environment that is both kid-friendly and caring in order to treat the children of York County. Our approach is thorough, comprehensive, supportive and non threatening. We specialize in treating patients from infancy through adolescence, as well as individuals with special needs.
It is our goal to provide you with affordable, high-quality treatment that fits your budget! We offer a variety of payment options to meet your needs. Our office accepts payment by cash, check, and Visa or MasterCard. We also offer low- and no-interest financing options through our office and CareCredit.
Normally the first tooth erupts between ages 6 to 12 months. Gums are sore, tender and sometimes irritable until the age of 3. Rubbing sore gums gently with a clean finger, the back of a cold spoon or a cold, wet cloth helps soothe the gums. Teething rings work well, but avoid teething biscuits-they contain sugar that is not good for baby teeth.
Our practice can provide a wide range of dental services for your children. Our flexibility in our services saves you time and keeps your total dental care within one practice. Our emphasis is on total preventive care for our patients. Total care involves regular hygiene visits, regular check-ups, continued home oral health routines, sealants and fluoride treatments.

We Adore Dr. Mark and his team! My Sensory/Adhd son adores going to the dentist due to the amazing patience they all have for him. My child hates brushing his teeth and they help give me tools and suggestions to help us help him to want to brush his teeth! Did you know they made chocolate toothpaste for kids š³ well thanks to Dr Mark we have had more success with brushing! šš» He even did a filling and my child behavior was better then at home š¤£

This is by far the absolute worst childrenās dentist office Iāve dealt with. After failing to return multiple phone calls they canceled my appointment. They cleared my daughter for a surgery she WASNT EVEN CLEARED FOR! Dr. Mark Luciar then argued with me on the phone for over 15 mins. The patient is always right they showed neglect towards my child and her health conditions. Working in a dental office for the past year I am ashamed of everyone who handled this situation and hope I never have to experience this again. Mind you let me remind everyone that Boston Childrenās said this procedure

I was looking for a new dentist for my kids after moving to Maine. I wanted a pediatric dentist because one of my kids has unusually high anxiety about dentists. Both my kids were very anxious going into their first appointment, but the staff was wonderful- warm and welcoming. When one of my kids got extremely anxious (before they had even gotten into the chair), Chelsea walked them through every tool, every step, every product that would be used. When that didn't solve things, she offered to take him to another room and gave him some choices to let him feel more in control. Her attitude and patience

Best experience! Just left there today with my 2 year old son for his first check up! I was so nervous leading up to the appointment and now Iām not sure why! Everyone was so loving, patient, and friendly. Theyāre totally used to little ones, and donāt make you feel all anxious if your kiddo isnāt cooperating. They handled it all with such grace, and therefore my son was able to get a nice thorough check up with no tears! Thankful for them! We will be recommending this place to all!!

I was very skeptical of trying out Children's Dentistry based on having read previous reviews, however, after my first experience with a limited exam for my son, I chose to completely transfer all dental care for both of my children to this office. There are many aspects of the visit I could review favorably here, but the one that is most important to me is how my children were treated collectively by each member of the staff with whom we interacted. The office philosophy is to build rapport with the kids, while the parents/caregivers fade into the background and handle the "boring adult stuff

We have been coming here for many years and my son has a great rapport with the doctors and staff. He had a very difficult time sitting still when he was young and the doctors were kind and understanding, despite the challenge of working in the mouth of a crying child. He is now a teenager and enjoys the banter with Dr Marc, who has been a strong advocate for my son's dental needs. I recommend them highly!

Dr.Mark has been our dentist and orthodontist for several years. He has done braces for 4 of our children and we are very pleased! He is easy to talk to and has a great rapport with the kids. We have no dental insurance and he is always willing to work out payments and avoid unnecessary x-rays. We highly recommend Children's Dentistry!
