Sho Hair Studio

I don't like leaving "needs improvement" reviews, but I feel with some changes this salon would really be top notch. Miki did my Japanese straight perm.

They need to either fork out the money and pay to have someone answer the phone, do online scheduling, OR send their messages to voicemail and call their customers back when they have a few minutes to spare. I did NOT appreciate how many times Miki left me to take phone calls and schedule appointments with other clients during my session. It was a total of 6 times, and 3 of those times happened while she was rinsing the chemicals

I absolutely love Sho he's amazing at what he does. I've been coming here for over 10 years and wouldn't go anywhere else.

I cannot say enough about Sho and his salon. He is amazing and does incredible work. I moved out of state and still fly back to get my hair straightened by him because he is just THAT GREAT! Don't let anyone else touch your hair. Go to this salon 100%!!!

So I'll start by saying that I had japanese straightening done at several places when I lived in NY--from nice salons to an "assembly line" straightening shop in Queens. Sho Hair Studio tops them all by a landslide. I've had my hair straightened here probably about four or five times so far. I saw Sho the first time, Miki the next, and I've continued to see Miki since. They are both excellent and true professionals with their craft; you can't go wrong with either stylist.

Called to make an appt for a haircut and highlights. Was told to go elsewhere. Only does straightening now. Really!?! Since when?

I went here after stepping into a couple other local Japanese straightening places all recommended by the South Bay moms group (bc they're the best) and many recommended Sho. Hands down they had the best price and most of the moms raved about it anyway.

This place is what I wanted. No flash, just a hole in the wall no frills place where good work would be the standard.

Miki did my hair back in March and 2.5 hours later my hair was perfection. As usual I asked for 0.5" to the root to be untouched so my hair wouldn't be super flat after and

He is amazing !! My hair are short and kinky... and I called for a Japanese thermal, the same day I had an appointment and he took care of my hair... They are now smooth and manageable. He took care of every detail, he takes his time to explain what your hair need. I was worry to damage them but he was careful and the result is amazing thank you Sho !
I recommend 100% and will come back to do some hair care... Thank you again !

Came here a couple days ago for Japanese hair straightening and Sho did an amazing job!! Prices are very good and it went by quicker than I expected! Definitely recommend coming here if you struggled with hair insecurities like I did

I've been going to Sho's Hair Studio to get my hair straighten for awhile now. I've had my hair done by all three stylists, Sho, Miki, and Minoru. Minoru is my favorite, he's very meticulous, and I like how he suggested how I should style my hair after the straightening. The place is nice, clean, and their price is the best in South Bay. Other salons will start the price at $300+. Here, price is usually around $200+ (depending on the length of your hair). I will go back for a touch up in a few months. Highly recommended!

Wow. This is the place to go if you want Japanese hair straightening treatment. These guys know what they're doing. And their price can't be beat!!! $270 For thick, long hair down to the butt!!

Straight, healthy, and shiny hair 2 months after straitening treatment! Worth the cost. I waited 60 days to review because any salon can make your hair look great the day of straightening.
I walked in with colored, processed, puffy, frizzy, and slightly curly hair. Sho was very welcoming during the consult and I scheduled, the Japanese straightening 4-hour process, later in the afternoon. He was a thorough perfectionist. I love Sho and his work. I was in the search for a new hairstylist that actually takes the time to listen to what you want and not just what they want to do. I found him on Yelp since I was in Torrance and I never looked back. Sho is so nice and funny. I'm so happy I lucked out on finding him. I came in a few minutes late for my appointment at 4:30 PM yesterday and had a feeling that my appointment was being a bit rushed. I've been to Sho before with great results but was disappointed because there was breakage in a portion of my hair by the end of the appointment. Sitting under the heat machine felt really really hot, which was something I hadn't experienced before. Overall, I'd still come to Sho because he does great work but will schedule an appointment at an earlier time.

I know Sho and Miki for 10 years. Since I was living in Rancho Palos Verdes. Always had my brazian keratine with Miki....they are fantastic. I live in Las Vegas, Nevada and still go back to Cali to get my hair done with them

There is really no other place that compares to this for hair straightening. Their prices really beat the prices at other hair salons that do Japanese straightening. I live in Boston, and it costs up to $700- here you can get it for under $200. The process takes 4-5 hours depending on your hair, and they charge you based on the length of your hair.
