Even newer homes can have elevated radon gas levels due to radon emitted by stone used under basement floors as foundation fill.

Dug up my 10+ year old inspection report to learn about the condition of my roof as I am considering to put on solar. Reading through again, I found it very telling that many of the things Kevin noted as inspection concerns did indeed happen over time.
I then called Open Hearth to see if they wanted to come out and do another inspection, and talked to the same guy, Kevin. He was very candid and honest telling me that if my roof is 10+ years old already, and was likely put on a number of years earlier, he doesn't need to have me spend the money to have him come out and suggested I put on a new

I had to give him a star because he seemed to know what he was talking about. We had hired him to fix our basement support columns. We first spoke to him over 5 weeks ago, first delay was because we had to get an structural engineers report. No big deal. When we did, we called him, he would get back to me a week later, if I could get through to him. His mailbox always seems full. He came out did measurements, then because I mentioned we may be able to use the existing footings, he told me he would have to come over again to re measure, putting us off another week. Again it takes a week for him
