What can I expect during my physical therapy session at Pro Motion Physical Therapy? The techniques described are often used in conjunction with each other. Each patient's rehabilitation has an individual approach and not everyone receives every technique. Most treatments will end with stretching, exercise, or balance/neuromuscular training to help maintain what is gained during each therapy session.
The Temporomandibular joint is about the size of your pinky nail but is the most complex joint in the body. The joint bears over 400 pounds of force and has a significant affect on eating, talking and even breathing. There are basically two joints in the TMJ, one-the mandible or jaw bone and an articulating disc, and the second is the disc and the base of the temporalis bone or our skull.
The pelvic floor consists of muscles, tendons and ligaments that stretch like a hammock from the pubic bone to the coccyx (tailbone). If you think of your core as a box, the abdominals are the sides of the box, diaphragm on the top and the pelvic floor is the bottom of the box. All of these muscles work in unison to help stabilize and support the spine as well as transfer force and stresses from the lower body to the upper body and vise versa.
We are always adding to our list of covered insurances. If you have any questions about your insurance plan please feel free to email or call us and we will be glad to help answer any questions you may have! Pro Motion Physical Therapy also offers a cash-based rate for therapy at $80 per session at the Slaughter location.

My teen-aged daughter had a pain on the wrist after she sprained it. Her pediatrician didn't find any sign from her x-ray & blood test but mentioned a possible carpal tunnel and gave a wrist brace. The unknown pain continued and she was sent to doctor after doctor getting different diagnoses every time including tendonitis, inflammatory problems, etc. Repeated blood tests, all those names of disorders, unhelpful therapies, and even recommending a CT scan made my daughter believe that she had a serious medical problem on the wrist. After 2 years of misdiagnosed pain, we found Dr. Dennis

I went to Pro Motion after finding out I had a torn meniscus. I was experiencing a lot pain in my right knee, I had trouble walking, and it even effected my sleep. After 2-3 physical therapy sessions I noticed considerable improvement. I attended my last session recently and I feel little to no pain! In addition to my progress, I really enjoyed talking to Dennis, my therapist. He made me feel welcome, was always friendly, and was very knowledgeable about many topics. Thank you Dennis. You made a big difference in my recovery.

I've been seeing James on and off since 2018. My doctor cleared me for PT but I still had a small open wound. I was turned away due to this by a local PT and that was the best that could've happened. James didn't hesitate to treat me and I never looked back. He is great at challenging me when I'm afraid of reinjuring myself and is quick to hold me accountable when I decide to do something dumb like take a boxing class way too early in my treatment. :-). What I can't stand in a PT is a.) getting passed off to a PTA after one visit and b.) very traditional 'warm up on

Great, friendly and very efficient front desk. Jessica took care of all the billing and insurance authorization, which is such a huge relief. Physical Therapists are very knowledgeable and able to address all my injuries. They do a lot of manual therapy and the one on one sessions have been so beneficial. Highly recommend this practice. Thanks

I am BEYOND satisfied with the therapy. Could hardly walk prior to PT due to strained muscles, and Emily got me back on track. She has also prescribed various exercises which have helped immensely. Friendly, professional staff who are truly committed to the well being of their patients. Highly recommend. Easy parking with plenty of spaces

My experience with Pro Motion has been amazing from the beginning. Jessica helped me get all the insurance stuff sorted out and was taking care of all in a proactive manner while Andrew was helping me get rid of my knee pain. I truly appreciate the approach they take at Pro Motion: a holistic, all around care for the human being not just another client or number. Andrew applied several techniques to make sure I can walk pain-free again and worked with me when something didn't feel good. I can now go to the gym, for long walks, and cycle without restrictions.

I had PT to strengthen my knees with Andrew. I had so much knee pain that I thought nothing short of surgery could help. I had trouble walking and getting up from a sitting position. I consulted with a surgeon and he suggested I try physical therapy before surgery. I am so grateful. Andrew is a very professional therapist. He did both manual therapy and supervised exercises twice weekly. After ten sessions, my knees are pain free, I am able to walk two miles a day. Andrew gave me a home program to maintain the strength I have built up and I no longer am considering surgery. The facility

Physical Therapy at Pro Motion was a very helpful and enjoyable experience. Andrew is an awesome and physical therapist that helped me gain use of my right shoulder that was hurt in an injury. I was unable to lift anything or raise my arm before beginning physical therapy. Andrew was great to help me achieve use of my shoulder and right arm and both are back to normal.
A second session with Andrew was to make my knees stronger and achieve better balance. This session was successful as well. Not only is Andrew a very knowledgeable PT, he is genuine and a very nice caring person. He is very kind

Update: To add to my current review that will stay in place, and also in the response to the owner. Your recollection of the events that occured that day are erroneous and the facts are simply this.
1) we were not offered another therapist that day, if that would have happened, we would have gladly accepted.
2) we discussed the many scheduling issues with Andrew directly. If he did not communicate those to you, that further highlights our point that there are communication issues that need to be addressed within your business.
We have nothing further to add, this was our experience with Pro

I was in PT for my shoulder (long term injury from years ago) for almost 6 months at another place and they only made my injury worse.
Took a break for a while then over Christmas break, injured my shoulder again and ended up wearing a brace for a few days.
Came to Pro Motion and I wish I came here years ago. Dennis has been a life saver. He could tell immediately what was going on, that I wouldn't need surgery and would just need 6 weeks. So thankful for Dennis - just trust me and go see him. I've been recommending him to others ever since!

This place is great!!! I see Dennis and he's terrific. He knows his stuff flat out. My oncologist receommended it to help me get and stay in shape for a stem cell transplant. He sees me for a full hour. They enforce wearing masks, so I feel OK about the exposure - very important since I'm immune-compromised. I feel that if there ius a chance to get the transplant, these folks will be the best at helping me get there!

UPDATE (03/29/2020): The owner has replied to my original review to insensitively dismiss a thorough account of my feelings and experience visiting his business. Want to verify the location, layout, and environment? You'll see it all aligns with the review below. I even attached three photos to substantiate it and you can see the tight layout, limited equipment, harsh lighting, and privacy curtain in his own uploaded photos (see photo 4 from January 22, 2019). I'm entitled to my own opinions. The owner is not entitled to his own facts.

Dennis at Pro Motion did an amazing job helping me to rehab my knee in six weeks. I didn't have an MRI or x-ray, but Dennis was able to determine the severity of my injury and begin therapy the very first session. He even gave me a short list of strength building exercises to do at home to improve my progress from week-to-week. - With a convenient location next to ARC Southwest, I was so glad to find that Pro Motion accepted my insurance. Jessica at the front desk was friendly and helpful in filing my sessions and setting next appointments. I would highly recommend any one of their trained

Katie @ Pro Motion works wonder! I had done physical therapy a couple times somewhere else before and I started wondering whether it really works because it didn't seem to help me. But Katie made me believe that physical therapy really does work! I had elbow pain for over three months before I saw her and it didn't seem to be getting any better so I decided to give physical therapy another try. After the very first session I already felt the difference! My elbow just got better and better after each time I saw her! She not only hand massaged my elbow and shoulder in each session but also

From a very friendly and helpful administrator, Jessica, to expert physical therapists, both Quintan and Dennis have been extremely helpful with many suggestions for exercise routines, muscle strengthening techniques and overall shoulder care and suggestions for activity and special concerns. I would not hesitate to use ProMotion again and highly recommend them.

I had a GREAT experience in this clinic. I live in Austin and received treatment here from James Werley for chronic neck/shoulder and TMJ-related issues. I had constant soreness/tension and recurrent headaches. The massage/manipulation, dry needling, and cupping, together with the exercise plan he put together for me, really helped my symptoms and also my ability to deal with issues as they arise. I'm really grateful to James for everything he did for me and for making every effort to ensure the treatment plan really addressed my needs, continually monitoring for progress and tweaking it as

They got me walking again and helped the nerve damage in my hand and for that I am very grateful. Nice folks! The accomplished in 6 weeks radical healing and strength. I am pain free and moving correctly and I am so so grateful. I literally could not walk when I came in. Another doctor really messed me up after surgery. So I was not doing what I was supposed to be doing as far as physical therapy. And James the owner is so good he actually is a professor. Everyone here has like 1 million certifications and degrees.
