Services
The Mountain Modern Motel is operated by The Yarrow Group, a Jackson Hole based management and consulting company focused on providing unique hospitality environments in inspirational locations. Our owners, managers and staff live and work in the area, and take pride in our beautiful region. At The Yarrow Group, we're committed to staying true to the spirit of Jackson, and helping guests create unique experiences in extraordinary surroundings.
None of the fluff, all of the good stuff. Our 135 guest rooms are great alternatives to traditional Jackson Hole lodging: functional but fun, and simple but well-designed, with a sense of authenticity and play that reflects the spirit of the area. Designed with the adventurer in mind, they're more like mini apartments than hotel rooms, with open floor plans, mini fridges & microwaves, and practical spaces for storing your gear.
Okay, we're not a five-star hotel. And we don't want to be. But we do have the stuff that people really want. Like good food. A place to clean your clothes. There's even a station for fixing your bike if you've got a flat tire. And if there's anything else you need, just ask one of our staff, aka our Wise Guides.
A short walk from Town Square, our Jackson Hole motel is conveniently located in central Jackson, just 5 blocks from Snow King Mountain, 10 miles from Grand Teton National Park, 12 miles from Jackson Hole Mountain Resort and 55 miles from the south entrance to Yellowstone.

You're not going to find urns of lukewarm coffee or stale donuts here. Instead you'll find a lovely array of specialty coffees, pastries and delicious grub. If you're heading out for the day, grab something hearty like a BYO breakfast sandwich or burrito to fuel up for the slopes. Stop by after your day of exploration for some yummy comfort food like mac n' cheese, chicken pot pie or a pizza.

One of the worst nights sleep I've had at a hotel. The walls are thin and I can hear every step taken in the room above mine. It's loud enough to be jarring, not just annoying. It's so loud, it's almost funny. I was woken up multiple times from 11PM onwards and barely slept.
I read some of the negative reviews before booking and figured people were just being complainers. I'm not that picky and figured it'd be fine. But, now I've experienced first hand how loud this place can be.
You're at the mercy of whoever is around or above you. If you are on a nice

We stayed here as part of a Trafalgar tour.......was not impressed. First of all it is a motel behind a restaurant so we were looking at dumpsters from our room. The lobby which serves breakfast everyday is very small and not equipped for a tour group plus the other people who were staying there . At 4:30 AM...everyday....the dumpsters were emptied.....awful, very noisy in what a terrible hour.
I have told Trafalgar in our review not to use this motel again......no one in our tour was happy at all.
The rooms were clean but the beds were extremely uncomfortable....for everyone, not just us.

Lipstick on a pig. Clearly used to be a Motel 6 or La Quinta type place. "Modern" touches were added and now the price is excessive, even for Jackson. Pictures on the website make it seem like a new build. However the walls are paper thin (My family was woken this morning by people simply walking in the room above us), parking is limited, and our room is both too cold and too humid. Avoid if you can.

We had a pleasant stay!
Came here on a recent ski trip and the stay was pleasant. The rooms were all very nice and modern and they really thought about everything. There was a bottle opener on the wall for your drinking needs. The room we were in was very spacious. Technically it can sleep 6 people which is really nice if you are with your family or large group.
The jacuzzi was nice especially after a long day or riding. The beds were comfortable and sheets are thick and nice. Only downside was no housekeeping during your stay due to covid I guess. So you have to leave your trash bins outside

Cheesy WiFi service on an unsecure network is their only option. It sucks. For $210 a night x2, I would expect better. Their WiFi network won’t let you access basic websites. Parking is very tight. At best. The handle on the shower control is janky and backwards and comes off. We’ve had reservation since January, I wish I had known about their lack of quality amenities.

I am an admitted/confessed germaphobe even before covid. I always bring and wipe down all surfaces with Clorox & alcohol wipes upon check-in. Usually at hotels the wipes would come away somewhat to a lot dirty. So, I was pleasantly surprised to find...absolutely nothing! Every surface, bathroom, kitchen area, seating area were immaculate. In this age of covid it is so reassuring to find a place like this.
There is plenty of space to dine in the room & many take out options all within easy walking distance.

This would have been the perfect hotel-- good location, perfect bed, modern interiors.
Biggest downside is the noise! No sound proofing. We could hear the people above us walking back and forth until well past midnight. You could hear the water pressure when people took showers or flushed the toilet. Transmission of sound was so bad that the next morning, i could hear the phone vibrating and alarm from the room above us!
Next drawback would be the lack of parking.
Considering the price for a room, I expected better quality.

The hotel is conveniently located near all the small shops in jackson hole but also not right in the center of it so you avoid a little bit of the traffic. A lot of restaurants were within walking distance.
The staff was friendly. There is no breakfast due to COVID. There is a heated indoor pool. Lanudry room is available for use.
There isn't enough parking if every room is booked. Several times we had to park at the restaurant next to the hotel because the designated parking lots were all full.
The room have been updated. Our room had two queen beds with soft and plush mattresses. They

Very nicely upgraded motel with modern features. Centrally located and comfortable but o had two complaints.
Bathtub is small, very easy to spill water out of the tub.
I booked through a different company, and the hotel or the company lost my reservation. MT Modern made sure to honor the reservation so it wasn't terrible.
Would visit again

I absolutely loved the aesthetic of this hotel. It reminded me a lot of one of my favorite hotels, The Coachman in South Lake Tahoe, CA. It seems like so much thought was put into all of the finishing touches. From the raw and rustic materials to the unique map wallpaper of the surrounding areas down to the luxurious malin and goetz soap! I couldn't have designed it better myself! We happened upon a room with bunks given our last minute booking which I think is incredibly efficient and would have been perfect for kids! I look forward to coming back and staying here again! It was a bit pricey

This hotel was renovated with a rustic ski hostel aesthetic and has a lot of cute touches. Beds are comfortable, and walls decorated inventively with National park maps.
BUT -this is a big But - the problem is scale and proportion. If you are under 6 ft+ it's difficult to reach things like the soap dispenser or the shower, which is mounted 10 feet up the wall so that by the time you need it to rinse your hair it is like a very gentle rain. I had to bend over and stick my head under the faucet.

NOT QUIET
If you are looking for a relatively quiet place to SLEEP, then do NOT stay here! This hotel has been painted and redecorated but it has bad bones. Before bedtime we heard the people above us walking like elephants and when they used the shower it was extremely loud in our room. The people before us set the alarm at 6 am which woke us up and soon after the people above us got up. We could hear them walking back and forth and showering. Through the wall later in the morning, we could hear the housekeeper vacuuming the room next to us. You can hear when people are talking outside too.

First of all, when we booked, we requested a room on the ground floor duue to my arthritis. When we checked in, they tried to put us on the second floor (no elevator) and then tried to argue with us and keep us up there. Every day, we had to call the front desk to be let into our room because our keys didn't work. And housekeeping is non-existent;… our wastebasket was overflowing and every day, we had to call the desk to get clean towels. There is NOT enough parking to accommodate all the guests, and CERTAINLY not enough handicap parking. I could never, in good conscience, recommend that

Aesthetic and has everything you need but a nice chair and drawers.
Stayed here for 3 nights. I love the aesthetic of this place. There's a monstrous photo of the Tetons on the wall and a glass paragraph description of then. Cool features. Love the carpet and crossword puzzle art. The shelving is really nice to be organized, however, DRAWERS would be really nice and it's a little frustrating to not have them to really tuck your luggage away.
Hot showers. Running water. Microwave and mini fridge. A toaster could be nice but they don't have one. AC works great.
