Symmetry Physical Therapy prides itself on offering one-on-one expert physical therapy services. We believe that each patient deserves the attention and skill of a licensed physical therapist at every session. We use a variety of techniques to guide our patients through the rehabilitation process. Each patient presents with a unique history and therefore the treatment needs to be tailored to the individual and their goals for therapy.
Most commonly, treatment consists of a variety of hands-on techniques to relieve pain and allow for more freedom of movement. Exercises are prescribed to ensure the relief with the hands-on work is maintained and that patients learn healthy patterns of movement and has sufficient strength to return to all activities.

Services
While Symmetry Physical Therapy is now offering in-person visits, we recognize that not everyone is comfortable with this. We remain available for telehealth visits during this transitional period. Telehealth has proven to be a valuable means of providing care; we can guide you through self-release, instruct you in a home exercise program, educate you on functional activity modifications, and ergonomic set-ups for home.
Your injury may have occurred suddenly and traumatically. Or, it may be the result of gradual wear and tear on your joints and muscles. Common injuries in either case include sprains, strains, tendinopathies, fractures, dislocations, arthritis. Fortunately, many of these and other injuries do not require surgical intervention.
People often think of physical therapy as post-surgery care. However, pre-operative rehabilitation (or prehabilitation), can significantly impact your surgical plan of care. And, research shows that it improves post-operative results. In the days, weeks, or months prior to a planned surgery, look to Symmetry Physical Therapy for expert preparation.
In many European countries, new moms automatically receive physical therapy after giving birth. Unfortunately, this is uncommon in the United States, and many women do not know about the benefits of this specialized, pregnancy-specific therapy. During pregnancy, your body endures unique strains, pressures, and stresses.
Many individuals suffer from lower back pain. Neck pain is also common. These musculoskeletal conditions affect your social, physical, and sometimes psychological aspects of your life. Recurrent episodes can be especially frustrating. The causes of neck and back pain areas varied as the symptoms.
Often the pain can be traced to behaviors that are repeated every day-unhealthy postures while sitting, driving, and using a computer, a laptop, or even a cell phone!Since these activities are integral to everyday life, you can't simply quite doing them in order to feel better. Your Symmetry therapist develops strategies to help you modify specific activities and postures to reduce, even resolve, your pain.

I had been diagnosed with adult-onset scoliosis. I thought there was nothing I could do to help my curving spine without surgery.
Then I found Stephanie Penny, a physical therapist who is certified in the Schroth Method. Stephanie is very experienced in this method and helped me walk a little taller and with less pain.
She reviewed my X-rays and took measurements of the curvature of my spine. She tailored the exercises to meet
the difficulties I had and to keep scoliosis from advancing.

My therapist Alyssa was awesome, she worked with me for the full session/every session. Unlike the larger chains where you see the therapist once and then get handed off to an assistant while they work with another client. Alyssa made it a collaboration as we focused on the problem area and others areas that could impact my knee. She has put me in a great spot now, and the future, to deal with my chronic knee.

Stephanie G. has been immensely helpful in treating my posterior tibial tendon tendinitis along with developing a plan for at home exercises to rehabilitate the tendon. She is a caring professional, someone that I will seek out for any future physical therapy needs. Symmetry provides a bright, positive space for the work that she and her colleagues do. They earned my 5 star rating.

My experience with Stephanie G. at Symmetry was phenomenal. She took the time to really understand the specific locations and type of back pain I was experiencing and worked with me to implement practical exercises. She was patient, thorough, and never made me feel rushed. Stephanie was so accommodating and scheduled all our meetings around my work schedule. My back has been feeling better than it has in a long time and I’m finally able to do the things I enjoy. I would recommend a visit to Symmetry in Lincoln Square for anyone who’s looking for physical therapist who is truly invested in your

I could barely move when I hobbled in to Symmetry in July. Within one visit, I was on my way to recovery. After deep tissue massage, dry needling, and specific to my injury "at home" strengthening exercises, I felt better every time I left another appointment. My PT, Anne, was extremely easy to communicate with both during my appointment and via email. I have never been so carefully attended to. I would refer anyone to Symmetry for exceptional physical therapy care.

I visited Symmetry for treatment for a chronic plantar fasciitis and knee pain that had been bothering me for over a year. Stephanie has been wonderful. She provides exercises that work well with my abilities and schedule. She also was very clear about expectations and time-frames for recovery. I’ve seen tremendous progress and am so happy I was referred here.

Symmetry staff is very knowledgeable. The staff is very flexible and straightforward about their availability.
They handle insurance communication very well and do not put you at risk of paying out of pocket when you need per-approval from insurance.
Carole was especially kind in explaining my bill and deductible!

Great experience. Excellent and knowledgeable staff.
My back and hip pain were reduced dramatically after a few visits.
Joanna is great with trigger point therapy. My therapist is with me for the entire session; no handing off to others and no distractions.
I really like their platform on line that provides videos and exact instructions on continuing the exercises at home. Large area for treatment allows social distancing when there is another client there at the same time.
