Roots is a great salon to go to. I was from out of state and had a style done to look great in Savannah while touring. Alex was very friendly and
creative with the picture I have her of the style I wanted.
It looked great when it was done and she took a picture of it. Having riverfront is awesome. It is very relaxing. I would recommend to anyone.

Lily does a phenomenal job on my hair every time! She's so sweet and has great rapport with her clients. My hair looks and feels brand new everytime I leave her chair. The salon is always so clean and cute. Everyone there is very professional and friendly. 10/10 recommend Lily & Roots Southern Salon.

I come here every 6 weeks. This is my absolutely favorite place to go! Awesome service from the whole team. No uncomfortable wait times. Meghan is exceptional, very professional. I love my hair style. The salon is located right over the river with big windows.

I had my hair cut and colored by Lily and she did a fantastic job all of the ladies in there were very nice and truly listened to what I wanted done with my hair. I've had so many bad experiences with other hair salons and tend not to trust just anyone. But this was the best hair experience ever.

*UPDATE - received a balayage from Christina on 10/13 and am so happy with the results. It was kind of a big change for me because I went a little darker to get cover a few rounds of old box color which left me with different tones at different lengths of my hair and it worked like a charm. I've gotten so many compliments. I would recommend Christina and Roots to anyone.

I absolutely LOVED going to Roots! My hairstylist was Rachel and she was super easy-going and matched my energy really well, and she made me feel super comfortable the entire time. She was very attentive to what I wanted and even when I was being annoying and kept asking her to give me more layers, she was super patient and gave me an AMAZING haircut that I ABSOLUTELY ADORE! <3 The rest of the staff was amazing too and they have an insane jewelry collection and ugh I just love everything about this salon, 10000/10 would recommend!!

My wife and I walked into this salon, we were not greeted at all, the person who came in several minutes after us was greeted and given service while we stood there. After about 10 min the woman behind the counter said "oh, I thought you were with..." and pointed at an Asian woman who had obviously been there for some time. My wife is also Asian, so I guess to her all Asians know each other and hang out together? I said something about it being racist, and the woman angerly mumbled as she walked away. We never were helped.

I rarely write reviews, but Lilly did such a great job that I had to write one! The salon and Lilly were both very professional and I think the salon has great prices for their services. Lilly listens to her clients in order to create the most ideal and beautiful style for them and from my personal experience she brought just that and more! I can't say enough good things about her and my haircut, with which I'm completely obsessed! Thank Lilly I’ll definitely be back! 😊

I have been utilizing this salon for a few months and was somewhat satisfied with the partial foils and root touch ups. I had scheduled a haircut with another stylist at this salon and explained to her that I wanted a better look with some movement. She snipped maybe the length of my eyelashes off of my ends and did not clean up my layers.... but unfortunately took a chunk off of one side of my bangs and were left uneven. I had emailed the salon a polite note explaining what had happened and asked if I could receive a "partial" refund since I had to pay another salon to fix my hair. After several

This is my detox place. Any crazy or simple haircut or color I want to get done I always come here. Meghan is my direct stylist and love her!! She always understand what I want even when I don't. I just give her the concept and she takes the wheel! This is has been my favorite place since 2017. Everybody is so nice and so knowledgeable about hair textures, colors, chemistry and face features.

Demi was an absolute doll. She's very educated with her profession and very personable. She took the time to get to know me. She wanted to make sure I left with exactly what I wanted. I am a natural redhead, and she didn't make me feel bad for wanting to change up my hair. She was very excited to work on me. I can tell she loves her job and her clients.

I was so happy to find this salon, it was my second visit and I enjoyed it. I usually don't like spending so much time at the salon and am not a big fan of getting my hair washed. I like my hair short I tend to go to the salon quite often. I found out that they do dry haircuts and its quick!! They do the job pretty well and I am always satisfied about how my hair looks. Its great that the stylists are so confident. Many places they get a little nervous about cutting hair short but the stylists here are pretty confident about what they do, which was very refreshing. I previously left a five star review but I needed to update it. This salon is only here for the money. They don't care about clients - maybe the stylists do but the owner certainly doesn't. I spent thousands of dollars at this salon over a year, and I had a bad reaction to the skincare products and hair products they sold me. I tried to return the products (which every company or any salon worth it would take back 30 days or less) and the owner REFUSED to give me my money back or store credit etc. That's to someone who was a regular monthly paying customer shelling out over $500

My girl Kara Coy always takes care of me at Roots. I found her over a year ago now because of her cute bob and her IG pics showed exactly what I was looking for! She is a master at balayage and always gives me the cutest cuts. Highly recommend Kara for her hair magic and being so friendly, it's always a win when I walk out of the door at Roots!

But I have basically jet black Asian hair, and was wanting a fall burgundy and chocolate hair color. I came out with a burgundy balayage and paid almost $300, only to come back and have it be toned back to almost black again. I just had high hopes for my inspiration picture. But I just would not recommend this place if you have natural Asian black hair and are wanting to color your hair lighter. I'm sure this place is great for blondes!

SUCH a great experience at this salon & I would definitely use them again. We were in town for a wedding & I needed a blowout/style. I also made an appointment for my friend (who has insanely curly hair) for an up-do. Christina did my hair and I was so pleased with how it felt & looked. I was super excited to go to this salon and had hoped it would be my new go-to since I just moved into the area but,...it will not be. I scheduled with Demi Rae. Sweet girl but, I didn't feel listened to and left unhappy with both the cut and color. I brought a picture of the cut and color I liked. She looked at it for maybe 2 seconds. That should have been my first clue... Long story short, I spent 1 1/2 hours at the shampoo sink (!!!) no exaggeration. I went to see my friend in Savannah and we were going to do a photo shoot which was cancelled because she felt extremely uncomfortable with her orange hair. She went to this Salon because she thought she could trust all the stylist there but she was wrong and they didn't even want to fix her hair.
I don't recommend this place at all.

This place overcharges. Make sure you get the right price before you get the service done. You will go in expecting a certain price and when you pay it ends up being a higher amount than expected. Be careful with who you chose, make sure you do your research if you come here because you might get screwed over and overcharged!

I had a very good experience at Roots Southern Salon today. Due to the great Yelp reviews, I decided to schedule a time to have my hair cut and colored. Susan (the owner) was kind enough to get me in the next day with BaiLee. I was a little worried when I met BaiLee because she is a natural redhead, and not a bleached and toned blonde like me. But Susan had assured me that BaiLee is good with blondes and boy is she! I just want you to see my before and after shots so you can see what a difference a good colorist and stylist can make!

During my first visit, the stylist left spots on my head and basically charged me $240 to put a gloss over my hair color. When I called to explain I was unhappy, the front office was rude to me, stated that Susan, the owner, was on vacation and would get back with me the following week. A week goes by and I haven't heard anything so I call again. The assistant manager schedules me for an appointment 1 week after my initial appointment to have it fixed.
