Services
At Critter Fixer Veterinary Hospital we understand that pet health issues don't always occur during business hours. That's why we are dedicated to bringing you the best 24 hour emergency care possible. We have an on-call veterinarian 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Just contact our office at (478) 956-2332 (South Byron) and our staff will be able to help you and your pet.
1 out of 3 pets will get lost at some point in their lifetime. Without identification, 90% will not return home. The HomeAgain Microchip is a safe, non-migrating microchip with an unalterable 10 digit code which lasts the entire life of your pet. The chip is approximately the size of a grain of rice and is injected between your pet's shoulder blades.
Vaccines are strongly recommended for the protection and health of your pet as well as other animals they may come in contact with, i.e. grooming and boarding facilities, dog parks, etc. Puppies and kittens receive important nutrients and antibodies from their mothers' milk while they are nursing. However, once they are weaned, this passive form of protection is lost.
Periodontal disease is the most common disease in dogs and cats and the importance of dental health is often overlooked by pet owners. More than 85% of dogs and cats over four years of age suffer from periodontal disease. Bad breath is usually the first sign of this condition. The same bacterium that causes bad breath, if left untreated, can spread through the blood stream and damage the kidneys, heart, and other organs.
A Junior Wellness Panel is advised for regular health monitoring of all pets less than 6 years of age. Junior Wellness testing allows our doctors to detect problems before becoming a major concern or greater threat to your pet's health. Junior Wellness also establishes baselines that are important in monitoring your pet's health trends.

I can not say enough about Dr.Ferguson and his staff. We have been seeing them for about two years now. They are always so
Compassionate. We had emergency Christmas Eve. The staff got us right in and took amazing care of our fur baby. The staff and Doctors truly care about the animals and it shows. Everyone has been amazing and I can not thank them enough. I highly recommend Critter Fixer if Byron to anyone looking for an affordable, clean, and compassionate vet office.

$125 (or a discounted $80) is exorbitant for a NOT emergency walk-in simply seeking answers on why my cat kept making herself bleed. It was 1PM...not exactly the "lunch hour." I don't really consider that "doing a favor." The whole place was empty (maybe one other customer). I'd been debating even bringing her in because everyone told me this place was expensive and expect to pay a lot and I just don't have that much available. I'll just continue to hope she gets better.

We have been bringing our animals here for a while now and always had a great experience. But the day before Christmas Eve we had to bring our dog in, she had an open laceration and we were able to bring her in first thing in the morning and the vet even came in to work early, 30 minutes before he was supposed to be there so they could get her sutured up right away so she wouldn’t have to wait (she is VERY anxious at the vet). They called when she was out of surgery and let us know how it went and we were able to pick her up a few hours later. They made a very stressful situation so much easier

Any and all babies are welcome. They are family to the community. highly recommend them. To add, labor day 2020, we had our Husky take down one of our Nigerian goats. On the Holiday itself they met us with open arms to take care of her. She spent several nights there. surgery and all the other issues ahe had because of the bites. The compassion and care from everyone at both facilities were Amazing. We have 43 critters and we will never go anywhere else. They are the best. we've been going there for 20 plus years.

Did bare minimum to diagnose my cat that I wasn't able to eat or drink for days. Told me that he was too dehydrated for an IV and labs (If he was that sick, why would you send him home....) and sent us home and told me to force feed him fluids and food. My sweet boy was suffering through his last days (only a year old at the time) when a simple… ultrasound and labwork would have given us clarity regarding his prognosis and would have helped us possibly save him before he got too sick to be helped. The Byron office was shameful. I have never felt so blown off and ignored. I would not recommend

Dr. Terrance Ferguson and his Team have taken care of all our furbabies for over 10 years now. There has been good days and hard days shared with them over the years. We have had happy tears and tears of great… sadness over time. But we wouldn't choose anyone else to take care of our babies. It's like choosing the Best pediatrician or your baby, you want the BEST. That's who they are at Critter Fixer. They are part of our Family.

I don’t like giving bad reviews but the lack of customer service I received today was really bad. I just got a pup, he’s 10 weeks now and needs his third round shots. I decided to check this vet out because I heard some good things and I wanted good care for our dog. I went to the Byron location because they accept walk-ins on Saturday btw 9:30-11 I believe. Went there with the expectation of waiting due to it being a walk-in on Sat., no big deal. When I got there the receptionist had one person ahead of me and said sorry for your wait how may we help you today. Now it’s my turn she greeted

The first time my mother took our dog there, she sniffed around the whole building scared to go in. A couple of day being there we got calls saying the she needs shots, she keeps throwing up, etc. My mom did not wanna pay for the shots cause she didn't know what it could do to her. Anyway they give her the shot anyways. Whenever we went to get her she walked slow, didn't eat nor drink. She would go to sleep sitting. It was very concerning almost like she was traumatized but luckily after two days she was doing ok again! I DON'T RECOMMEND THEM!!!!

I can not thank the vets at this practice enough. Countless times now that they have saved animals in our rescue. We believe in vets that are kind and compassionate and skilled, and we are blessed to have located this office and staff to care for the precious animals that enter our care. All to often in rescue you encounter the horrors of animal neglect and abuse and some traffic injuries and illness, what a blessing this office and staff have been to offer excellent care with tenderness and compassion to go with it. They are a super busy office but they never have let that be a factor to the quality

I came to Georgia with a sickly older dog and they took over his care as if they knew him all his life. I know because I checked with my puppy dogs Doctor in Florida where I came from and he was my entire Families pet Doctor. Critter Fixer did all they could to save my Bobby Boy but he did have health issues and he was an older doggy. They knew he was my complete world and they respected that till the very end. I would and I do recommend this Vet to anybody !!!❤️❤️❤️
