Dr. Whitney Shelton grew up in East Tennessee. After earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from East Tennessee State University, he attended the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center School of Dentistry in Memphis. He became interested in the unique challenges involved in Pediatric Dentistry during his first year of clinical training.
He completed his training in Birmingham in the University of Alabama Pediatric Dentistry Program. The comprehensive residency program prepared Dr. Shelton to offer pediatric patients different treatment options to meet their individual needs. Oral sedation dentistry is one of the options, among other behavior management techniques, that help children with situational anxiety.

I cannot say enough nice things about this amazing group of people. My young daughter has had several horrific dental experiences at two different pediatric dental offices. She was beyond terrified of the dentist. Jennifer and Dr. Shelton have removed any fear she once had of the dentist, and she looks forward now to returning to see them. They have been so patient, kind, and caring with her that days after her cleaning she was still talking about sweet Jennifer. Dr. Shelton was excellent to my daughter and me when she underwent sedation for dental work. I cannot thank Rocket City Kids enough for

Office super clean, staff very friendly, dentist experience was top notch. Dr W. Shelton, was thorough and empathetic for my sons complaint of tooth pain. Spent a lot of time ensuring we knew what the diagnosis and prognosis was for what he was experiencing. Overall very happy w our visit here and we will be switching dentist. This was a same day emergency appointment that they made and exception to see my son two days before Christmas.

This was my sons first visit here. We moved from MI. This was by far his best experience yet and he has had some major work done already. They were very professional. Educational for us and him. They were gentle with him and understanding that he was apprehensive after having some harder visits at past dentists. They also got us in quickly. We were thrilled to find such a great place close to home.

Absolutely and utterly disgusting. Staff is rude rude RUUUDDDE!!! I cant believe they couldn't let my son play on their ps1 after cutting his lips with a magnifying glass. Terrible service as well. They didn't even give me a chinchilla that asked for politely. RUDE RUDE RUDE. They baffle me and the quality and service is just not of specific and fine dine quality and whiggity whack-ness.

If money is not an issue for you, go with Dr. Sheldon, he is great. At every visit he personally called and checked on my son. The reception and dental assistant are ok, you would think since it’s a pediatric dentist office they would be friendlier with the kids. They don’t tell you in advance how much you will be paying until you’re already there. This happened to me the first time, second time I asked to please tell me ahead of time how much I would have to pay and they said ok we’ll text you and they never did, so surprised again at the time of visit. Never again we are not coming back

The most RUDE staff I've ever felt with! Kept telling us we DIDNT have dental, when in fact we did. All because they couldn't look it up correctly! Instead of letting us finish paper work while the kids were seen, they told us we were missing our appts and turned us away! This office will suffer due to the rude staff. Especially the rude old lady helping the front desk. She was the worst!!! Wish I could give them negative stars!
