Family Martial Arts Center

Family Martial Arts Center was a great experience for my 6 year old, and is now one for my 3 year old. Master Kim, Ms. Monica, and Mr. Matt keep each class fun and energetic, but also keeps the kids in line and respectful. This is a wonderful small business to support; they have really boosted my kids' confidence.

The twins injoy and love this class instuster is so good with the kids and teaches them dusaplant and respect for others this class has helped them in there confidence, and in self esteem

Master Kim and Ms Monica are fantastic. We love this school and feel lucky to have found it. My daughter has gone here since she was 4 years old (she started at her preschool). When she moved into kindergarten, she continued to train at the dojo. She learned so much, and all the instructors really pay attention to each child's needs. There is a great teacher/student ratio. The environment is safe and warm. You can really tell they care about the kids. I plan to send my son as well once he gets old enough. Great school!

For the new year (2017), I resolved to learn something interesting. Something that could allow me to practice focus. When I was a kid, I practiced Shotokan. I did not progress far enough, so I set out to look for a Shotokan dojo to relearn something I liked. But, because life is varied, I couldn't find a dojo that resonated with me. Rather, FMAC kept popping up in my searches and saw they have a Kumdo/Kendo class. I decided to visit.

Master Kim is strict and kind to the students. He always hears out the opinions of the adults and students, and always keeps it enjoyable. Has a great atmosphere, there is a balance of seriousness and laughter.

Master Kim spent time and great care with my girls, encouraging consistent progress, discipline and kindness. I love the time of the classes, and the staff led the way in showing the kids how to be respectful and kind. Great introduction to martial arts for my whole family!

Master Kim and Ms. Monica run the school hands on with discipline and fun curriculum to maintain the students’ interests.
My kids have been attending these classes for the past 3 years. They have both earned their 1st degree black belt, and are working to achieve their second degree black belt. After becoming black belts their curriculum has changed drastically, focusing on self-defense, weaponry, advanced board breaking, and leadership. My kids take pride in assisting the classes.

We've been coming to FMAC for over five years, and I must say that it's been an amazing experience. All of the staff members are friendly and great at teaching children. They have lots of experience and are very skillful. I've been to a few other martial art centers in the area, but they disappointed me with their unprofessionalism and lack of knowledge. Family Martial Arts Center is properly named! Master Monica and Master Kim are such amazing instructors and meet the kids where they each are developmentally and emotionally! We find the cost to be reasonable and my kids look forward to coming - even after coming for 7 months! The curriculum is varied, fun and challenging.

Family is the best way to describe Master Kim and Master Monica's Center. I cannot say enough about how grateful I am to have my kids learning Tae Kwon Do from them. They give the two things that are most cherished. Love and Discipline. You will find no better place. They are always rotating the lesson which keeps the kids motivated.

I signed up my daughter to learn self defense. She's learned so much more: focus, preciseness, manners, respect, limits, pride, how to step up to challenge and so much more. Master Kim has an easy report with his students and understands how to positively motivate them. He takes interest in their lives and activities outside of class. He, Monica and Jessica really create a sense of community here.

This place is awesome! Master Kim is so great with my 3 year old son, he is teaching him discipline, respect and some cool moves to go along with it. I took tae kwon do for years as a kid and I wish my instructor were half as good as FMAC's Staff. I'll will be bringing my Son here for years to come.

Great place if you are looking for a family friendly school. Master Kim and Mrs. Monica, the owners, have been able to teach Taekwondo with integrity and dedication in a disciplined, respectful and skillful way, and yet making it fun for younger kids. My son has been attending since he was 3 1/2 and he is now becoming a focused and confident young man. My daughter, 9, has just started and is really enjoying her classes. My daughter has been attending Family Martial Arts Center for 4 years. In that time her poise strength, and self-confidence have all grown immeasurably. FMAC focuses on traditional Taekwondo with its emphasis on integrity, respect, and personal growth and development. Grand Master Michael Kim and Master Monica Kim are both caring and dedicated instructors. I would highly recommend FMAC to anyone interested in the martial arts.

We love this place! Master Kim and Ms. Monica do such a great job with our 5yo daughter. Our daughter is learning respect and discipline for the martial arts all while having a good time with the other kids. They have a great collaborative program with Montessori On The Lake too! Our adult friends love the program too.

This place is amazing. I brought my daughter, Hailey, here for class when she was just 4 years old. She's now 5 and has advanced 3 belts. It teaches the children focus and discipline and it gives them a goal to work towards. The classes are small and the kids get one on one attention when needed. It is a family owned business and this family works very hard to bring the absolute best out in their students. They take great pride in what they do. They also have great classes for adults too. This place provides self discipline, self confidence , and a fun way to exercise!My daughter looks forward to going to class every week. I can see how this place really transforms your child to being more confident and strong (physically and mentally). The instructors there really push you to do your best and not to give up. My 11 year old son has been going here for just about a year now. Master Kim and his family run this place hands on and do a great job. They provide interesting and fun exercises for the kids and teach discipline and respect in everything they do. Would highly recommend to anyone (kid or adult).
