I went it rang bell liked it said no one came. Went to bar to ask for service. They sent someone out. I ordered 2 kid size cones, only ice cream prices shown says 2.50 small 3.50 large. But then they tell 7$ one cone has one scoop above the cake part and the other was cone is flat.... the girl goes get someone when I asked why so much. Then the 2 girls They make the smaller one 2x the size of the one I have in my hand... then I say can I just pay and be done with this... she at this point has had my money since she said $7... she walks away again to get someone else. To which I get told we don

Excellent!! Spend a lot of time in Mercer. Has become a favorite for us everytime we are up. Upon leaving, staff was very friendly and thanked us for coming. The gentleman that is the cook even stepped out the side door to say good bye and said thank you as we walked to our vehicle. Impressive! Call to make a reservation in advance. They get busy and understand why. Very good food.

Went on a Wednesday night with my family of 8, the lady who greeted us 5 minutes after arriving, seemed put off that we didn’t have reservations. Claimed their dining room was going to be full at 6. The place was seemingly empty. Even after a gentlemen said they’d be able to make us work, the lady asked if we could be done by 6. Horrible experience with even worse customer service.

The food was amazing! Wow!

We had the Veal Schnitzel, the Veal was very tender and cooked perfectly! The best veal I've ever had. We also had a Pasty, that was very good as well!

The owner is really nice, the bartender was very energetic and friendly. Awesome atmosphere! We can't wait to come back!!

We ordered carry out from here.

Atmosphere: They have a nice pick up window for to-go orders so no need to go inside. The outside has minimal parking by the restaurant, so park around back in the alleyway.

Service: It took about 45 minutes to get an order picked up after placing it on a Friday night.

Food: Unfortunately they use Styrofoam for to go orders, so food will get soggy quickly. I highly recommend when you pick it up to crack the containers to let the steam escape or your french fries will turn into soggy shoe strings. The braised cabbage was delicious. The german potato salad was

Love the environment and outdoor space!! Really nice people. Quick service. We stopped for a Friday night Fish Fry. It was ok. We had the Haddock, I got the small order which came with 3 potato pancakes and coleslaw. The fish, even the small portion was a pretty good size but it didn't have a whole lot of flavor. It's good just not awesome. But I'd go back again and try their German food.

So many good things to say about this place! Great ice cream, great German food, good pizza, and an absolutely amazing outdoor area that includes a large full service bar, lots of seating, bands, when scheduled, including polka bands. This is the place to be in the summer and it has a nice eating area and a small bar within the restaurant as well for when the weather isn't so nice outside. Also, great service and the owners are a class act!

This is a timeless venue. It's claim to fame is the consistently wonderful German fare with always good pizza and sandwiches. For two generations the food has been spot on. Recent addition of the "sweetie pines" baked goods only makes things better. Recent conversion of the miniature golf area into a beer garden with live entertainment has made The Pines a first rate gathering place. The family is omnipresent and hard working. They give back to the community and their church quietly. Without doubt an Iron county icon not to be missed. Don't forget the ice cream!

The Pines may not look like much from the outside - but what appears to be a nondescript eatery in the middle of Mercer is chock full of surprises.

First - an amazing Biergarten for nice weather days. They have live music regularly and of course, an Oktoberfest celebration.

Second - REAL German food. I'm not kidding - I've spent a lot of time on Germany and this is as good or better than the Vaterland.

Third - family run all the way. Mom is in the kitchen, dad runs the front of the house and one of the kids will probably wait on you.

Finally - it's no frills, which I like

Favorite summertime destination. We love spot light polka band on Sunday's. Authentic German cuisine great pizza as well. Staff/ owners are very personable and knew are names after being there once! Family friendly fun atmosphere. Beer garden helps accommodate the people that come for good cheer and do some impressive cooking themselves. The quality of burger is really good. The pizza crust is tasty. Smoked porkchop on outdoor grill is fantastic.

Great place!. Of course there is a wait, but the outdoor garden area was shady and filled with comfy chairs. Great guitar player on stage the night we were there playing lots of John Prine.

The schnitzel was great, the speatzel and cabbage were as good as any I have ever had. The fish was good.

Ice cream was a great choice for dessert.

Awesome German food. Cool little restaurant with a small bar and large indoor and outdoor seating areas. We had spotted cow and a dark ale on draft and started with green beans and German potato salad, both were stellar. The fried green beans were nice and crispy and didn't have too much breading. The potato salad was delicious, I had to stop myself otherwise i'd just have this stuff for dinner.

The dinner plates come with a variety of great sides. The salad was good, but the red cabbage was the best. I had the Smoked Pork Chop which was a pair of nicely cooked thick cut chops

This is our favorite place for dinner and ice cream!

The German food is outstanding. My kids tell me that the pizza is the best in the North Woods- and they should know since they've tried them all. I like the salad wraps- garden and Caesar- they taste fresh and healthy. Plus, when I have the wrap (and the hand cut French fries- because you MUST have those) I don't have to feel as guilty about having ice cream afterwards. I am addicted to the ice cream- it is so yummy and scooped by the friendliest young lady. Getting Serious and Mint Avalanche are serious decadence to die for
