In 1950, W. Clyde Lankford and his wife, Eleanor, opened Colonial Funeral Home at 220 E. New York Avenue in DeLand, FL. They lived above the funeral home on the second and third floors and began raising their children, Cheryl and Larry. In the late 50's, the Lankford's changed the name to Lankford Funeral Home.

Our caring, compassionate staff have the knowledge and expertise to help you plan a memorable service people will remember for years to come. We offer a variety of affordable burial, cremation, funeral, and memorial services that can be tailored to meet the needs of each family.

When my mother died recently in a DeLand nursing home, the people at Lankford Funeral Home stepped in immediately to make go smoothly. They took care of co-ordinating with the funeral home in my mother's home town to have her remains sent there for her funeral and burial. I could not have expected anyone to be more considerate and professional.

Carrie and Darin are amazingly kind and, the attention to detail is unmatched. I lost my mom August 2nd and they really went above and, beyond to make me feel at ease with the whole process. I am so, so very thankful for these people and they way they helped me every step of the way. Thank you again for your help. My mom would have been so very pleased that we chose to work with yall 💗

The team at Lankford was amazing from the start. My brother and I traveled from out of town and had very little time to arrange everything. They are very compassionate and do not push you to do anything you do not want to do, but rather guided us by listening to what we waned. Thier facilities are clean and well appointed. They were able to give us a beautiful flag in a case because my father served in the military. I highly recommend them.

Even though I decided to go with an affiliate business that works with Lankford (for financial reasons) I had to come on here and leave an outstanding review for Harold, who works for both businesses. As Don was still married to Lynn SYMONS, she took point on having Don cremated and his remains sent back to Ontario, Canada as per Don's wishes

We can attest to the fact that Lankford Funeral Home certainly lives up to its Mission "to provide our families comfort at their greatest time of need". We would like to praise and thank Cheryl Lankford, Darin, and Luz for their kindness and comfort before and after the passing of our wonderful sister. We live 1,000 miles away and from the guidance regarding prearrangements 18 months ago to the time of her passing, and after, they were extremely kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. Cheryl even blessed us with the suggestion of a wonderful attorney to assist us.

Lankford Funeral Home is staffed with some of the most caring individuals I’ve ever met. Every person I encountered here was compassionate, a very good listener, and strived to make this difficult time as easy as possible. Because we were dealing with the VA, we had some stressful issues, but Harold, Luz, and Cheryl jointly worked tirelessly through the difficulties. They went above and beyond. I highly recommend Langford funeral home and crematory!

The funeral director was rude and unkind. Some of the staff were very nice, but overall the place is disorganized. Cheryl's disregard for my sister and me as our uncle's sole survivors was hurtful and infuriating. We left our uncle's wake in tears of anger. It was clear she thought someone else was paying the bills, and therefore she wanted nothing to do with us and our wishes for our dear uncle.

This funeral home did my uncle service. I would never recommend them to assist a black family with a burial in my life. My uncle passed unexpected due to a heart condition on March 4th we were all unware of. These racist pieces of trash. The day before my Uncle's funeral they gave my Aunt hell. Ms. Lanford the racist owner and piece of trash told… my Aunt she wasn't waiting on know death policy to cover the funeral she wanted $ 10,000 up front. Mind you my uncle was a veteran. So we came up with the money the same day. When we brought the $ 10,000 back she going to send Richard done stairs

I cannot begin to tell you the level of service my family received with Lankford just this past week. Cheryl and her staff exceeded every expectation I could have ever imagined for putting my grandfather to rest. From the minute they received our first call, they had an amazing service planned including feeding 75 people in less than 2 days time.… To say we are shocked is an understatement. Death is one of the hardest things to deal with. They were so kind, so genuine, and so helpful. I would recommend any loved one to them as they took care of it all!
