Update: In response, even if you no longer do "Christmas at the Galt House", the lack of effort was terribly disappointing. I'm not mistaken about what I saw and heard. We walked all around. I realize I wasn't paying for decorations, but it was the only reason we booked the room. Sadly if you google Galt House Christmas it is so known for being a wonderful holiday experience that old information and pictures show up. My fault for not verifying with the hotel.

I guess what you can take from my review is that the new renovations lack the charm that the Galt House used to

Let me start by saying that the valet and front desk staff were very plesent to deal with. Sadly this was the only redeeming quality i could find. The elevators were a disaster spilled pop, crushed chips, and… even spit lined the walls and floors of the elevators. We were placed in a room right next to a heavily used staff entrence and offices that could be heard all day. The curtian was broken and would not close all the way. Only being on the second floor, this was an issue. And the heater in the room was so loud it sounded like it had it's own generator to power it. As soon as i got to

It's ok. It looks nicer than it is. Parking is $25/night. No microwave. No fridge. No iron in our room. Go with the Marriott nearby.

We stayed at the Galt House Hotel Saturday night for a little getaway. We were very impressed with the everything and would highly recommend. All the staff was fantastic and the room rates were decent for the beautiful accommodations. The bed was super comfy and the room was very clean! We went to the Swizzle restaurant and sat at the bar for happy hour. The bartenders were very nice. The food was just okay. Nothing to write home about. The cocktails we got were tasty. We will definitely stay here again next time we visit Louisville.

The room is decent and the location is great, but… - We are in the tower across the street , and apparently no one works over here. There has never been anyone at the desk. -Be prepared to take a cold shower. If you call about it they say you need to let the water run for at least ten minutes. -Don’t expect clean towels. -Bring your own toilet paper. Seriously. You only get what is on the roll when you arrive. There is no extra roll in the room, and they will not bring any if you call. -Beds are uncomfortable.

Fully staffed at the front door and check in desk. Warm and inviting greetings at each encounter. Front desk clearly was witty and engaging and worked to up-sell but without being pushy, just informative and kind. Room is well stocked and exceptionally clean with a great view of the river. It's a little noisy with room so close to the elevator but with a big event in town hosting so many distillers, is to be expected. Will definitely choose Galt House on my many business trips to Louisville throughout the year.

I stayed twice the first time I gave 4 stars. This time was awful I booked three months in advance so it should have been easy to have my rooms ready. But it wasn't and they proceeded to put me in the worst rooms in the hotel (yes I booked two for my family) they gave us rooms 559 and 561 next to the parking garage view and next to the maid service room. Noise all night completely uncomfortable and very rude service. Very displeased will go to the Omni on my three trips a year to Louisville. Better luck to you when they do it right it's ok but if you unfortunately get a bad room it&apos

My room was clean and no one disturbed me. Staff were professional in helping me with parking.

I rated my experience a 4 because I don't agree with the hotel holding $200 on top of the $350 I paid in advance. The charges were reversed within 3 business days. There were also other miscellaneous taxes and up charges.

Overall my experience was positive and I enjoyed my stay.

We are happy with our accommodations. The suite is spacious and immaculate and also has a nice view of the Ohio River. The staff members have all been very helpful.

Second part of review. Frankly I don't care of any offense you take about the bad experience I had at your hotel. The next day I found valet stole money out my car and spoke to vet manager Dilliom who stated he would take car of parking. Spoke to a Billy McNeil who just wS eager just to push problem away and state ww comp one night of your stay and that was just to quiet situation. As I said before the hotel is overpriced, not cleaned well and staff has no concern of quality of customer service. The hotel is not appealing from outside and looks old in inside. I recently spent a weekend at the Galt House, checking in on Friday and out Sunday. I arrived early and they were ready for me. Quick and friendly check-in and I was also excited to learn about the in and out privileges for parking I had using my hotel key.

The room was fantastic! A small suite feel with a living room, kitchenette and desk separated from the bedroom. Walking through a small hallway took you to the bathroom and bedroom. Large TVs were available in the living room and bedroom space, plus the shower was huge.

Both the room and 11th floor was clean and spacious. Ice and vending

We were wowed from the very beginning! I was hesitant after reading some bad reviews but our experience was top notch from the moment we stepped inside this beautiful updated hotel. Erika was phenomenal at the… front desk. We had booked a deluxe 2 queen bed room and were upgraded to a suite for my best friends 50th birthday at no extra charge. The room was cozy, spacious and clean! Everything is with in walking distance! So much fun and I would definitely book a room with them again.

Very disappointed in our stay. I've always wanted to stay at the Galt House, being such a staple in downtown Louisville. Celebrating my mother's birthday for the weekend. When I made the reservation I was told it was a 2 queen suite. After getting to the room 2 queen bed basic room. The ice machine and vending machine didn't work on our floor, we were not informed that the rooms would not be cleaned and then the front desk wouldn'ttake cash for the soda I had to walk across the street to get becausethe vending didn't work on the first place. So after being out for

Thoroughly inspect your rooms and don’t book through a third party or leave before you get a resolution to an issue, even one this gross WITH photos for proof. Our loss is your lesson!
We opened the curtains… the morning of our stay and discovered 💩 feces in the corner behind the desk. Housekeeping came in to look but did not offer to clean it up. Front desk manager tried to ignore us by dodging our phone call when she came on her shift and even after when we showed her the photos she was not concerned in the least. We were told a refund would have to come from hotels . com

Don’t stay here unless you want your money stolen! First of all I think it’s absolutely ridiculous that they charge $100 security deposit PER NIGHT (which I was never informed of). When I checked out I had a $0… balance and was told I’d be getting the security deposit back in a few days. Surprise surprise I didn’t get it back. After several calls to try to find out what happened their answer was to call my bank. Well I did just that and my bank says the hotel has to release my funds so it returns back to my account. I’m sitting here a month later and still havnt

I will NEVER do business with the Galt House Hotel ever again. It is obvious that the way they conduct business is complete garbage. It is completely wrong to tell someone that you will accept a Purchase Order and then say, “No, we will not accept a PO.”

The rooms are decent. Except when you have to move because the air conditioner isn’t working. The hotel is so short staffed and they use it as an excuse for rude customer service. None of the restaurants are… consistently opened when they’re supposed to be, we had to go to the front desk for anything like an extra blanket. We had more than one staff member speak rudely to us. We won’t be going back here. Also this is the view from our room. Lovely isn’t it?

Lived in Louisville half my life and this is my first stay. Always wanted to stay here when I lived here for some reason. My aunt worked as a chef before retiring due to Covid. Home visiting to attend a wedding and thought great place to stay.

Galt House is located in downtown Louisville. Perfect place to stay and show my friend Louisville. Not a bad walk to the Welcome Center and 4th Street Live. The Welcome center had 25% off Bourbon merchandise. My friend and I both bought tshirts, old fashioned wax candles, and a glass. We got great reusable bags with our purchase as seen in pics. 4th street

I don't understand they only have one person to check in new guests and answer the phone to current guests. Poor guy at front desk was doing everything possible but they need to hire more personnel.

Hotel overall is beautiful, new but feels understaffed. Bar is still closed and some floors need to be mopped for dark spots.

Good location, great views and could have huge potential, but needs more staff.

1 star for their horrible customer service at the front desk. Rude, unfriendly and unhelpful crew with few exceptions. 5 stars for the room renovations, view and location.

It's really a shame because the hotel is beautifully renovated and the room we had was amazing. The River view was cool, and the proximity to everything was great

Our poor interactions with Karen at the front desk are enough to make me put this place on my "I will NEVER come back here" again list.

We'll definitely return to Louisville, but will avoid this hotel like it's infested with nastiness. It

This is hotel was a little more than disappointing. I was expecting something more than empty space. The place is very plain with no appeal or elegance.
From the outside it looks like a fabulous place however once you enter the doors you feel like your in a office building. Empty counters, escalators and elevators. Very plain and dated.
I read Expedia reviews and I should have looked to "Yelp". For the cost of a night I would pass on this place in the future
The rooms are large but not very modern, the bathroom is huge but I'm not looking to have a i Party in there I want good

The Galt House Hotel is a must if traveling to Louisville. Location is perfect and close to everything, giving you the full Louisville experience. The rooms are very spacious and the staff is extremely on top of any concerns - which is comforting while traveling during times of COVID. You may not even want to leave the comfort of the hotel, as there are so many options that don't require leaving.

Walker's Exchange, Down One Bourbon Bar, Jockey Silks Bourbon Bar, and Swizzle Dinner & Drinks are all located in the hotel.

Make your way to the 17th floor, you'll find the Xhale

I wish I had a better review to leave. The facilities are pretty and up to date, and the service is good, but not really.

There's a look of exhaustion on every person's face except for a rare few. We had a body building competition, business conferences, and a basketball event. But the hotel wasn't prepared at all.

So many of the restaurants were understaffed or nonexistent. Don't get me started on Kentucky and COVID. That's a while other mess. :(

Areas would go uncleaned, the hot water was only available one morning. And the serving staff was so short staffed

We got a patio suite for my birthday. It was very nice and updated. The patio had the best view! The lobby was nice and so was the restaurant area they have within the hotel. The staff here were very nice and wore their masks properly. Parking is either valet or street parking. Street parking is close and affordable as well.
In all I had a very nice stay and will definitely stay again.

We only stayed for one night but enjoyed our stay.
Our room was modernly renovated and everything was very clean. We liked the multiple venue choices for dining and took advantage of a few of them.
We enjoyed their bar (Jockey Silks) the night we arrived in town and their restaurant (Walkers Exchange) for breakfast the following morning before we left.
Parking was convenient to the hotel entrances not overly crowded and the garage felt safe.
We would definitely stay again next time we are in town!
