Dr. Matt is a 2009 graduate of the Indiana University School of Dentistry. After spending a year in private practice in his home town of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Dr. Matt dedicated three years of his career to working for the National Health Service Corp in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
As it is extremely important to help those in need, Dr. Matt traveled across the U.P. to provide top notch dentist care to patients who do not have access to care, or could not otherwise afford it.After fulfilling his commitment, Dr. Matt moved to the Madison area in 2013 to be closer to family, and has spent the last 5 years in private practice.

A cleanings, or dental prophylaxis, is a procedure that is performed every 6 months to keep your teeth and gums healthy. Dental prophylaxis is performed with specialized instruments to remove any plaque that you are unable to brush away on your own. Dr. Matt is an EXCELLENT dentist & skilled clinician. He's passionate, caring, and gentle!
As a former oral surgery assistant of x14 years, I have worked with many dentists between Madison to Milwaukee--and he's by far the most skilled that I've met. He also doesn't do any unnecessary work, and has morals!
I'm thankful I found Dr. Matt, as well as his hygienist Lois! I can also say I've never had my teeth & crowns cleaned this well.
(Thank you to his front office manager for getting me in on short notice x2, as well!)

Dr. Matt got me in for a series of appts for a root canal/crown very quickly. First cleaning with Lois was very pleasant followed by the work on my tooth with Matt. I have more to be done and will be returning. I live two hours away but they are worth the drive. Very professional and x-rays were really quick and easy.

Great experience with Dr. Matt. I chipped my tooth the weekend before Christmas, and he met me at his office, and took care of it, right before he was leaving town! He explained everything he was doing, as he was going through the procedure, so I knew what to expect. Very considerate, and gave good advice as to what the next steps might be if this happens again. Highly recommend.

Dr. Matt did a great job on placing my crown. I appreciated that he was not pushy, but gave me options along with pros and cons. I get the feeling that he very honest with his patients. He was very careful and skilled in his work with no pain at all. I would be comfortable recommending him to anyone.

My 9 yr. old son and I are both patients at Forward Dental. My son chipped one of his front teeth so I made an appt. I was able to get him in right away (within 24 hours). After we Dr. Hostetler he was very honest and said the chip was not bad, any work they would do was simply cosmetic. I appreciated the honest feedback and no pressure to conduct unnecessary care to his tooth. Very pleased and would highly recommend.
