Terry Anderson was a high school student looking for work in the summer of 1980. He began soliciting households offering the services of Terry's Window Washing by not only cleaning windows in his original Itasca area home base, but by expanding throughout the western suburbs of Chicago. In 1982, while enrolled in Elmhurst College, this summer job extended into weekends, spring break, between classes, and whenever else free time was available.
He was no longer cleaning windows in just Itasca, Bensenville and Elmhurst, but throughout the Chicagoland area, so Terry enlisted friends and family to keep up with the demand for the next four years. In 1986, Terry's Window Washing officially became Shine-Brite Window Cleaning, Inc.
