Bethesda Reggio
Welcome to Bethesda Reggio-a Reggio-inspired, dual-language Spanish immersion preschool for children age 12 months through 5. We offer a unique combination of project-based curriculum and bilingual learning surrounded by nature. We follow a wonderful, internationally-recognized educational model which nurtures young children and prepares older children academically for kindergarten.

The cornerstone of our approach is Respect for Children. We view every child as capable, curious, and competent to contribute to their learning. Teachers guide children to think freely, collaborate, and contribute to investigative projects at every age. Teachers show their respect by carefully documenting the work children create and recording what individual children say.
Services
Our mission is to provide excellent, innovative education to young children (toddlers to age 5) and teachers who share our values, using a combination of Reggio-inspired curriculum and bilingual language immersion. Our school's essential value is Respect for Children as competent, capable learners with inherent, irrefutable rights.
A. It simply means that we do not require children to know Spanish before enrolling and we do not prohibit English in our classrooms. Our Reggio approach requires teachers to capture exactly what children say during learning exercises. As such, we do not inhibit a child's expression. There are different intensities of immersion programs.
Your little one (12- 35 months) is going through a special transition to becoming a capable, curious child. She is just learning to communicate verbally and developing the ability to share feelings and "play well with others" in a group setting. Teachers aid this process by creating a classroom atmosphere where toddlers are treated as capable individuals, whose opinions, actions, and thoughts are respected and valued.
Bethesda Reggio utilizes a project-based "emergent curriculum, " predicated on the ever-changing interests, ideas, and questions of children. Our provocations are often inspired by children themselves giving ample opportunity for discussion, decision-making, collaboration, and evaluation. Projects can last days or weeks depending on where it leads us.
The Reggio Approach is a wonderful model for children starting at age 2 and adapts naturally to prepare older children for kindergarten. The Reggio Emilia educational philosophy was developed shortly after World War II by psychologist Loris Malaguzzi and parents in the villages surrounding Reggio Emilia, Italy.

I find it hilarious that one of the other reviewers actually wrote "aside from the tennis courts there's not much to use."
I guess he must've not seen the baseball field, basketball courts, or the full playground. I suppose the courts are on lower ground, so there's a possibility that he missed them because he didn't walk 15 feet up the hill from the tennis courts.

We visited while looking for preschools for our child and they were very friendly. Most of the instruction is in Spanish which is a big plus for us.

Great school, great teachers and families and great facilities. We're lucky to have our son there. He's greeted with a hug from his teachers every morning.
