Our goal is to prepare children for success in kindergarten and beyond. We include "free play" in our curriculum because children develop many of their social skills, and even academic skills, through play. Playtime also provides an opportunity for teachers to observe the children's interactions. By observing each child at play we learn which social and academic skills a child already has and which ones need improving.

Hi! My name is Joan Stoppleworth and I am the Director and teacher at Middleton Preschool since 2003. My husband and I live in Cross Plains with our two dogs, Tanner and Cooper. We have three children who have all graduated from college, one lives in Chicago and the other two live close by.

In our spare time we like to go on walks, watch movies and play games.

At Middleton Preschool, Inc (MPS) our goal is to prepare children for success in kindergarten and beyond. To succeed in school, young children need to develop socially and emotionally and establish a good academic foundation. Our MPS curriculum is designed to achieve these goals. We include "free play" in our curriculum because children develop many of their social skills, and even academic skills, through play.
Our afternoon 4K program is play-based and led by student interests as we explore various topics. Through fun activities and interesting "studies", we guide students' social/emotional development, and engage students in learning important skills in literacy, math, science, social studies and the arts.
We are currently enrolling for the fall 2021-2022 school year! Please call for an appointment and we would be happy to show you what Middleton Preschool has to offer. A $80 non-refundable registration fee is due in January with your completed application (preschool only). Once the school receives your completed application and registration fee, your child is considered enrolled.

When I was looking for a preschool for my child, it was a bit overwhelming. I came across Middleton Preschool and emailed them and got a response immediately for setting up a tour. Not only did they work with my schedule to set it up, it was a private tour. I was able to ask questions and have one on one with the teachers to answer questions and give me a sense of their curriculum, especially the parts that were important to me. When I walked into the school, it just felt right to me. Watching the kids interact, play at centers and how the teachers responded to them was all very positive! Not only

Middleton Preschool has been exactly what I was looking for in a preschool for my daughter. The teachers show a genuine enjoyment of and respect for the kids and are warm and loving. The schedule and price are perfect. My daughter asks every day if she gets to go to preschool today, and is always disappointed when the answer is "not today". Absolutely love this place, and recommend it whole-heartedly.

I am so happy we found Middleton Preschool! Both of my children have loved this school and can't wait until it is their "preschool day"! MPS is a great place for families who do not need full time daycare, but want an economical way to expose their young ones to interactive play with other children on a consistent basis before 4K or kindergarten. Always warm and welcoming, Ms. Joan, Ms. Heidi, and Ms. Vicki are amazing with the children and give the children the consistency they need while fostering exploration through play and fun. Middleton Preschool has been such a positive experience for 3 of my kids! The teachers are committed to the children and to making learning fun! Both the indoor and outdoor spaces provide children with ample space to explore and learn. I cannot say enough great things about MPS and would recommend it wholeheartedly!!!

Middleton preschool is a truly magical place! The teachers, Ms. Joan, Ms. Sally and Ms. Heidi, are incredibly warm and caring, and create an amazingly rich learning environment. My daughter loves the learning centers, the sensory table, the songs and stories in circle time, playing with all of the different toys, costumes, puppets, etc. She has been there 2 years and I'm about to send my twins there as well. My daughter is more than ready to enter kindergarten with all of the learning she did there, both academically and socially. Hope others will enjoy it as much
