We actively protect the citizens of Tulare County from violence and exploitation through aggressive investigation, prosecution and enforcement of all criminal and civil laws. In furtherance of our mission, we vigorously seek civil remedies on behalf of defrauded consumers and businesses put at a competitive disadvantage by unfair business practices, protect our elderly and children and provide compassion and support for victims of crime.
The Office of the District Attorney over the years has provided exceptional service to the citizens of our communities. As the region has changed, so has this office. We've grown from a small office to our current multi-faceted organization of over 200 people including 65 attorneys. Our recent experiences place this office amongst the best District Attorney offices in the State of California.
The primary purpose of the Bureau of Investigations is to provide professional investigative support for the prosecutors in the Office of the District Attorney. All District Attorney Investigators are sworn peace officers. The Bureau is staffed with some of the most experienced investigators in Tulare County.
The Gang Violence Division handles all adult felony cases involving violent crimes, gang crimes, and career criminal prosecutions. The Special Crimes Division prosecutes auto theft cases, marijuana suppression, rural/agricultural crimes, rape cases, Violence Against Women Act prosecutions, and elder abuse.
A crime was committed against you and you reported the crime and cooperated fully with law enforcement, the district attorney, and the courts.
