Dr. Adkins obtained a bachelor's degree in chemistry from West Virginia State University in fall of 1996. After graduation, Dr Adkins went on to work for Union Carbide Corporation in Institute and South Charleston from 1997 to 2000. At that time, Dr Adkins decided to change careers and pursue a career in dentistry by attending the WVU School of Dentistry.
