Dr. Boustany was involved in creating the non-profit Renewing Smiles, a non-profit organization with a mission to reduce the financial burden of dental care for patients with congenitally missing teeth and other oral structures. A single tooth implant is an alternative to the bridge. With this treatment, we surgically implant a titanium post into your jawbone. To do this, we do need to drill a hole into the bone. Once we place the post, your surgical incision is stitched closed. As the jaw heals, new bone grows. This bone attaches to the post, fixing it securely within the jaw.
Implant-supported bridge - Recommended in situations where it's impossible to insert an implant for every missing tooth, it is structured similarly to a traditional dental bridge except for (as the name suggests) being held in place by implants instead of natural teeth. Your teeth can function as individual units or be linked together for greater strength.
Affordability - This is the main benefit of Trefoil. Compared to All-On-4 treatment, which can use 4 or more implants, Trefoil only uses a prefabricated bar, acrylic titanium prosthesis, and takes fewer appointments to finish the process. Stability - The Trefoil implant provides superior bite force (equal to All-On-4) as well as greater security since the prosthesis is screwed down to the implants.
